I received an email that my subscription is being renewed and they had just charged my card. I called the # in the email to cancel and was told it is not the correct phone number and I was given another number. I called that number and was given yet another number. The gentlemen at the third number told me my account was cancelled and my card was not charged (as I am looking at my CC charge). I called my CC and disputed the charge. One week later, they are charging me DOUBLE for a service I cancelled. I never approved nor received any communication from them on what this charge is. I've already disputed the charge but this place is a complete scam. Do not order from them!
I got directed to this website while trying to renew a subscription. No matter what I do I get directed to the first page of a search for a magazine and only the first page, never able to advance to the next page, even when I enter the name of the magazine. I will never waste my time on website again.
(This website wishes me to add proof of purchase which I will not do because I do not trust this website)
Every renewal for me has been a problem. They treat a renewal as a new subscription which means you get duplicate copies as your old subscription ends and your new subscription starts. And the renewal ends early. Very disappointed.
I ordered a subscribtion to magazine but never received it. This place took my money and sent the free magazine they were giving away. I informed them that I never got my magazine, they told me that I would receive my magazine April 1. When I didn't receive it then, they told me to contact the magazine that I ordered when I ordered from them. Magazine.com is a rip off. Beware...
Didn't receive all magazines, tried to cancel but could get no confirmation email. Service rep kept trying to sell me other things, kept saying email had been send but I had not received after five minutes. BAD, BAD, BAD
Have a charge pending on my credit card for a purchase i did not commit to---sent over 5 e-mails--no answer---worst customer service ever!
Magazines never arrived. Ordered for my grandchildren and they were so disappointed. Was made promises of delivery dates and none arrived. DO NOT ORDER from this company.
I purchased 2 mags. The first subscription took over 2 months to get and when I did they came back to back. I never got the 2 subscription I ordered. I went to cut off the automatic renewal and it cancelled the subscription I had already paid for both subscriptions. And good luck trying to get your money back. It would be less painful to pull out your own tooth. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! TOTAL RIP OFF!
Bought the scrip to Dwell in August 2020 through American Airlines - got the points for the purchase. It's mid November and it still hasn't come - no one to call and I doubt they'll run this
Suckered into 2.0 each for 4 mags, thought it was just these issues, they renewed eithout authorization, 70 dollars for 4 magazines I paid 8.0 originally
I cancelled my subscription in 2018, and in March of 2020 they billed me for Popular Science
And Popular Mechanics subscription which was cancelled, both in 2018, causing an overdraft
And fees in my checking acoount. Big Red Flag.
A current sub is full cover/newsstand price, no bargain.
Other services better.
Four contacts unresponded to.
As counter-intuitive as it may first appear, you can often get a better deal from a so-called middle-man than you would direct from the supplier. That's the secret behind the success of deal-of-the-day sites like Groupon, and it applies as well to magazine brokers. Both kinds of brokers get you a better deal by delivering new customers to the original supplier, albeit at much less profit.
While the provider clients of deal-of-the-day sites may be motivated by the prospect of continuing after-deal business, magazine publishers benefit from the brokers even without it. That's because the cost to the publishers of each additional magazine copy is so low. (In fact, the only significant cost is that of mailing, for which the Postal Service gives them a special rate.) In practice, however, the publishers often do even better, as less careful buyers renew their subscriptions directly and not via the broker. These considerations explain how magazine brokers are able to offer the huge discounts that you'll see.
Magazines.com is the magazine broker I've used, and aside from the bargain prices its service is satisfactory in every way. You can use it to purchase new subscriptions or to extend current subscriptions. If you change your mind about a magazine, magazines.com will provide a full refund for all undelivered issues. And toll-free customer support is available 6 days a week.
Tip: Magazines.com does not want you to renew via the publisher, so unless you tell it not to, it will automatically renew every subscription you order. But telling it not to is easy: just phone the site after you order at its regular number *******946).
Answer: Promotional "thank you" subscriptions from results of a survey I took
Answer: Nope, they are frauds. I will be contacting the magazine(s) directly to let them know how magazine.com is ruining their subscription base.
Answer: It's impossible to talk to a real person. I have called morning and afternoon, sat on hold and was finally told they weren't working today please leave a message. No one has ever returned my call.
Magazines.com has a rating of 1.1 stars from 59 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Magazines.com most frequently mention customer service and auto renewal. Magazines.com ranks 198th among Magazines sites.
