Class Action Lawsuit Needed
September 24, 2019

Since the "switch" on Aug 15, my $5000 camera system is worthless. Customer service/tech support is worthless... over 20 hours on the phone... no better than when i started...

*Update to Lorex up program
September 17, 2019

I previously commented on the Lorex up program and how I was being run around in circles.
Today I have received three replacement cameras in the post from DHL in the UK. My first message to Lorex was 12th August so all in it took 2 months.
My biggest issue was the customer services department and the repetition of emails they kept sending.

This company absolutely hosed its customers with its FX camera migration. This should be looked into for fraud against its customers. Shame on you LOREX, this is awful.

The first day I received my system it worked for a few seconds. Chatted with support a few minutes later as everything stopped working. Next day nothing worked. Chatted with for a week finally they mailed out another receiver. Waited another week. Now the real headache began.

Count down was already started for 60 day month back... Support and Supervisors were pointless.

1) Waited over a week for the Receiver. Installed the new receiver. Worked for another day.

2) Talked to support got a supervisor to call me back. Supervisor calls me 7am in the morning. (Phone is powered down while I sleep)

3) Finally returned everything with next day shipping, costs me $165. Lorex provided UPS Standard Ship 10-14 days.

4) Shipped on 09-Sep-19 and Lorex received on 10-Sep-19.

5) Called Lorex on 12-Sep-19. Lorex mentioned hasn't received my package and I have signed proof.

Called and spoke with Lorex just now and waiting for a supervisor to call me back. Hopefully in an hour and 45 minutes...

Worst service ever. Not going to order from them again. Not going to recommend this company to anyone. I just want my money back!

I used Lorex for years. I have have 11 cameras; 7 of which no longer work due to recent app 'upgrades'. I was told I would receive replacements, however after 30+ days of waiting and 'please send more info', I have no cameras or responses from them.

I'd like to recommend 'giving then a chance', but I now have over $1000 of worthless cameras laying around and unprotected properties without any video surveillance.

FWIW, the Ring cameras have been working well for me. Depending on your needs, they might be worth a shot for you.

All Lorex camera owners were recently forced to abandon the old app and move to a "new" Lorex Cloud app that is absolutely terrible for the following reasons:

1. So slow and difficult to use that it renders your Lorex camera system(s) completely useless.
2. You will rarely ever be able to even see any of the Live or Recorded video before the app times out or crashes.
3. In the rare case that you do actually see any video, it is extremely slow/laggy (even on a 200Mbps symmetric fiber-optic connection).
4. All video traffic is now being routed to Lorex's Cloud servers, which is a major privacy problem! There is absolutely nothing stopping them from selling your video to whomever is the highest bidder. They are probably already doing this.
5. The aspect ratio of all video feeds are now very stretched, which renders any of the extremely slow video totally warped and very difficult to view.
6. The max video resolution has been significantly reduced which turns your "4K" cameras into 1980's low resolution crap.
7. Tech support is useless, except for the fact that they admitted to me that they were flooded day and night with complaints and that they were capturing and likely selling their customers' video feeds. I spent MANY, MANY hours on the phone with them and they couldn't help with anything. A huge waste of my time. The only reason Lorex can afford it is that all of their support is located over seas where they can pay totally unskilled and untrained people the equivalent of pennies per hour to waste their customers' time.
8. It's highly suspicious that the reviews for the new Lorex app are almost all 1 star or 5 stars... And the 5 star reviews look like they were written by Lorex shills/employees.

Congratulations Lorex! You've managed to entirely destroy your customer base almost overnight! Before you did this I actually recommended your camera systems to MANY friends and colleagues. Now I feel terrible for having recommended a product that was twisted into something so terrible by mindless id1ots.

Class Action Lawsuit
September 11, 2019

This is what we need to start looking at. The system I purchased in 2018 was never that great and now they come out with a firmware update that has left my system unusable. I've been told twice they are sending a replacement for my DVR. Still nothing. AS you read through the other reviews the message is clear. Don't buy this product. It's unfortunate the FLIR has left it's name on such a poor product.

Do not buy lorex
September 10, 2019

I wanted to add users to my account so I called the *******739, I was transferred somewhere that did not speak English or understand it. She did not know what is the number sign, hash, or pound sign. She was not knowledgeable of their device. I spend over an hour without getting anywhere.

3 weeks now waiting for 3 cams that will not work with lorex secure app they changed too lorex home app and all 3 cams do not work with it. After providing all the details they ask for. 3 weeks waiting, no security around my home and they dont seem to care. Nobody on the phone told me the replacements were all sold out. Now i am told 5 to 6 weeks to get my order.
After reading all these other posts i wonder if they will ever come. Or are they just giving us the run around.

Do the wireless outdoor lorex cams work on any other app for android?.

They performed an online update in 8/2019. The update made my DVR useless. After several calls asking for help I got none, they had no clue. Eventually I got someone from Customer Support who explained the update rendered the units no good and they had 3000 units ready to ship to replace the ones that failed due to the update. I would receive tracking number by e-mail of replacement unit, 3 weeks latter still nothing. Called again and they are clueless. Told the 3000 was for cameras not recorders and they had no information on replacements for those. Each call results in discussions with people that cant do anything to help you.

I bought an IP camera from Lorex directly. The camera failed after 5 hours of use. When I tried to get the camera replaced under warranty they refuse to honor the warranty because the camera is not plugged into their equipment but into a 3rd party POE switch. When I disputed their answer on the phone the support person hung up on me when I asked to talk to a manager.

I would never suggest or purchase anything from Lorex/Flir again!

Lorex sent an update to my DVR and it stopped working. I called several times and was told that they would send a new DVR. I was told that I would get an tracking number in 24-48 hours. I never got the tracking number or DVR. Every time I called tech support to find out when I would receive the DVR I was told something different. Long story short I still have not received a new DVR. (it is still under warranty) When you call tech support you just get a rude Indian that you can barely understand. It is obvious that they are just trying to get you off the phone. DO NOT BUY LOREX. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! BUYER BEWARE!

Quality problem

Company don't care after you buy Lorex system. His customer support is not good.If you have a problem and you have a lots of time to wait then call support center because there waiting time is tooooooooo longgggggggg and after all they don't care about your problem.

Bought a 6 camer wirefree system 10/18 have been trying to get to work since then have bought everything the said i needed to make work over the last 8 months, even bought a extended warranty for 5 years, I hire a professional installer to come out and redo as need for it too work He talked with them several times ( said cs agent was rude) finely left his number since they would not answer anymore, never a call back They don't care about the customer or even the quality of there system It just flat don't work spent several months looking for a good home system not this one for sure still won't answer email or return calls even asked for a manager but to no success. My advice Don't buy LOREX

The replacement cameras I received and the app associated with it is junk. Difficult to access the cameras remotely and if you do manage to the system works 1 in10 times. A complete joke.

Very low quality customer service.

1. Low attention to detail, organization problems, and communication issues: I ordered a specific type of replacement cable from them. They sent me the wrong kind. I contacted Customer Service to get it exchanged. They promised to send the correct one within a week. After several weeks, the new cable still had not arrived. In response to this, I called to find out what the issue is and they replied that they were out of stock.

2. Very long hold times: Every time I've attempted to reach their Customer Service department by phone, I've had to wait on hold for at least an hour and a half. In one instance, I waited on hold for 2 ½ hours (literally) before a Customer Service Rep picked up the phone, and then they dropped the call after 15 seconds of speaking with me.

What a shame. I can't use this product because they are not capable of supporting it! This company has lost my trust. I do NOT recommend the purchase of Lorex products to anybody.

I purchased a NR9082 receiver and have a loud buzzing sound from the receiver and called for replacement yesterday and after almost an hour of waiting on the phone, i was allocated a ticket # ******* and was told that they were transferring me to an advanced dept that would deal with my replacement. I waited another 40 minutes and all i could hear was the intermittent message that that all representatives are busy attending other customers and my call will be answered in a priority sequence. I finally hung up. Today i tried again and right now as i type this, I have been waiting for the last 96 minutes! Still listening to the same message. They have no consideration for customers time. Even if the products are reasonably good, I would never ever recommend Lorex to anyone. Seriously this is the worst customer service EVER.!

Now 12 days and have not received my refund for a unit that was never shipped but this company know how to manipulate the UPS tracking to make it look like it was delivered but then returned to sender you have to be very careful AND LOOK AT THE TRACKING DETAILS DATES AND TIMES DON'T MAKE SENSE THEY GO THREW A LOT OF TROUBLE TO STEEL YOUR MONEY AND THEY TELL ME TO TAKE IT UP WITH MY BANK CROCKS Crocks
