The company's customer service approach is characterized by a mix of commendable support and significant concerns regarding billing practices. Many customers praise the helpfulness, professionalism, and genuine nature of the representatives, noting positive experiences in resolving issues quickly. However, a troubling trend emerges with numerous complaints about unauthorized charges and difficulties in canceling subscriptions, leading to feelings of frustration and distrust. While the quality of the service, particularly in resume building, is acknowledged, the company's billing transparency and communication practices require urgent improvement to enhance overall customer satisfaction and trust.

I love how helpful this site has been. It is quite relevant, practical and easy to use.
WAHHHH everyone is crying because they are too lazy to make their own format in a word document. This website pretty much CREATES your resume with all their examples. Stop $#*!ing and appreciate the free services. If you all weren't so lazy you wouldn't pay the five dollars and just take the content of it and make your own.

Same problem as everyone else. I didn't mind paying the $4.95 to download my resume that I created. What I didn't realize is that I signed up for an additional service that I needed to call them for to cancel - which was $34.95 per month. I would have never signed up for this because I only needed a one time download. I didn't notice the charge until my second credit card billing statement - which by then I was already out for 3 months worth of charges.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and have disputed the charges with my credit card company. We'll see what happens. I tried calling up livecareer and explained the situation, but they weren't willing to work with me.
Don't use them!
Dear Lisa,
Hi, I work at LiveCareer. I apologize for the misunderstanding. The $4.95 option you chose is good for 7 days and we rely on you to cancel whenever you are finished. Underneath this option it states it will auto-renew. We do offer several ways to cancel including self-cancellation in your Account Settings!
You can also contact our customer service team for help! We are available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. This is a horrible money scam site. Hidden charges. Company needs to be investigated for unfair deceptive practices. DO NOT USE!
Dear Pat,

If you do not cancel we will assume that you are still using our service. Many of our customers continue to use our service for several months during their entire job search. Our subscription prices and policies are clearly stated in the details of the subscription underneath each price option.
We make cancelling your account really easy! Just visit your account settings or contact our customer service team. I went online to build my Wife a Resume. This is a very user friendly program. I signed up for the $2.95 special for 7 days. Come to find out my account was chaged a week later for $35.95. My Blodd was boiling. I called the number that was on my online bank statement *******430 expecting to be given the bad news of it is too late we have your money. It was so easy to speak with the Lady and tell her I was not aware of another fee coming up. Because I had caught it so soon I was able to get a pro rated amount back of $33.
It was all there in the verbage but was not loud and clear. 4 stars because it is a cool program and they do what they say they are going to do.( Just pay attention to the Fine Print) If you are looking for a Job you need a Reume. If you have no clue how to put one together, you should try Live Career.
Dear Danny,

So i typed up my whole resume, great site with a lot of tools to easily create your dream resume. I was under the impression it was free, so spent an hour or so making it. Found it it was not free. Was extremely pissed.
GOOD NEWS
Found a work around to it
After completeing the resume, just go to the preview resume tab, while in that tab hit the button print screen on your keyboard. Paste this into paint, crop and there you have it, a fix to this websites scam!
Dear Travis,
Hi, I work at LiveCareer. We apologize for the misunderstanding, but what is free on our site is the ability to try out our product to create resumes and cover letters, and to explore our templates, designs and text tuner samples. If you want to print a resume to bring to an interview, email your resume/cover letter, or download a professional looking resume then you do need a subscription. However we do offer the ability to download a FREE Plain Text format.
I'd also like to mention that sending your resume in a photo format is not standard in today's job market and there is a big chance potential employer may not even open the file. Also, if submitting in a photo format the important keywords in your resume will not be searchable since they are not in a standard text format. So using a photo format can be very risky. We do encourage you to download one of the standard versions offered on our site to ensure professionalism and increase your chances of being found by employers.
If you have any questions regarding your subscription our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.

Something Shady...
What this website does not let you in after the fact that you've created your resume is that they charge you a fee to link you with other hiring companies. I knew right off the bat something wasn't right. Good thing I didn't process my credit card via this website. No one should ever have to pay a fee for creating a resume online, but now I'm even concerned about my personal info leaking out without my authorization even if I've kept my personal information private.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with us, Art. We strive to deliver A+ customer service and apologize if we haven’t met that standard. We’d like to help you address your concern so you can have a great experience with us, please contact us at https://www.livecareer.com/contact-us
I used the "introductory offer for a 7 day trial to format an old resume. Once the resume was changed, I called and cancelled the subscription just like the fine print directed. 7 days after the 1st charge of 4.95 was taken out, 2 additional charges of 34.95 were automatically taken from my account. So a total of 74.85 has been taken out of my account to date so far for this account that was cancelled hours after I used it. BUYER BEWARE!
Dear Rob F,
I work at LiveCareer. Please contact us immediately if you have your cancellation confirmation number or email. We will be happy to honor this to the full extent. AT FIRST DIDN'T LIKE, NOW AS EDUCATED USER AM HAPPY. First used this site trying to get "free resume'" for myself and became frustrated when "free" version didn't come w/ original spacing/design. THEN, used for husband's resume' understanding the value of small payment. LOVED ease of process and GOOD TEMPLATES plus REALLY GOOD TEXT SUGGESTIONS. Used multiple text suggestions that I tweaked and FINAL PRODUCT TURNED OUT GREAT. Downloaded pdf, HTML and work doc version successfully. Completed whole transaction in few hours then cancelled membership that day. Immediately received confirmation of cancellation stating had access for 5 entire days. Called to be certain amount billed and was told it would be the $3.95 originally shown. WOULD USE AGAIN

They refused to provide me with a refund of $149.95, taking MONTHS and MONTHS of charges from me without telling me, even after they said it was FREE and only a "trial"! They are thieves and they lie to their customers. I warn you STAY AWAY!

Wish I had read the reviews on sitejabber.com before I wasted hours putting together my resume using this service. The online viewer was deceptive - as many people here claim, what looks like a one-page resume, after you pay to download and print it out, it's many pages long. Plus, the 7-day access I paid for came with a hidden monthly subscription to their service so I got slammed with another $34.95 a week later. LiveCareer only offered to refund part of it so I filed a claim with my bank (Wells Fargo) and they are refusing to do anything about it. What a hassle!
Dear Debbie,
Hi, I work at LiveCareer. We apologize that our builder does not reflect the separate pages and this is something we are working on adding! Give us a call and our customer service team can help with the formatting of your resume so that it doesn’t take up as many pages! We also have Writing Assistance within the builder that provides clear and concise examples if you need help to reduce your word count to make your resume shorter.

Ripoff! People get suckered into using this site thinking its free. Once you are done writing your resume, then, and only then do you realize you have to pay. I was going to pay but then I thought, no way. LiveCareer is borderline scam. If you give them your credit card # you'll be sorry!
Dear Chuck S,
Hi, I work at LiveCareer. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Our free trial gives you the opportunity to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchase. If you like what you see, we ask you to pay for a subscription. The ability to print, email, or download your resume are only listed as a feature of the paid subscription and are not listed as a feature of the free trial. We're sorry for any confusion.

AWFUL! I cancelled and continued to be charged 35.00 a month! And they now state they cannot find ANY documentation stating that I cancelled. I had wanted a one time only and now having to fight them using my bank. THEY ARE rip offs and scam artist!

This site looks good and sounds good but it's a bait and switch. The articles are just feeds they've subscribed to and they do have templates but you can get them online for free. When you create your resume using their templates, there is no way to make it look professional when printed out - no headers, footers, page numbering system nor can you insert page breaks. So... when you print out the document, it's one long page. Not professional. Once burned... save your money.
Dear Renee M,

All I can say is don't do it! A total Scam, as you can see from the rest of the reviews. Be aware if you don't cancel within the 5 days you have automaticly signed up for the $30 somthing automatic withdrawl from your checking account. Until you catch it. When you call and tell them you had no intention on purchasing their product, they tell you you should have read the terms of their aggreement better. Not what any business that has a quality product would do.

DO NOT use this site! I needed to make a new cover letter and found out that I had to pay to print it out only after I had completed the letter. They then proceeded to charge me way too much money for their poor services, which I didn't use after I printed off my letter, for another 2 months. I cancelled my subscription and was refused reimbursement of my $ because of some obscure line in their terms of use policy that states that if you don't cancel your subscription after the 7 day trial period, they will automatically renew your subscription monthly, without any emails or warnings. BE CAREFUL! MONEY GRABBING SCHEME!

LOL to all the dumb $#*!s here. Next time you purchase anything online, try reading the NOT SO FINE PRINT so you'l know what you're signing up to. No one forced you into signing up to their service. I made my resume with them and everything seems to be working fine for me, WITHOUT ANY EXTRA CHARGES ON MY ACCOUNT. And the customer service is great, you're just too dumb to even listen to what the reps are telling you. I signed up and paid for the 4 dollars over the phone, the rep cancelled my subscription before we hung up, I have a great looking resume, and I got the job. Thanks LiveCareer! Don't mind these dumb $#*!s they don't know $#*! LMFAO

You have the option to save this document in several formats, I suggest making sure u've chosen several including (. Pdf) and then save on a disc to make sure the document is correct when u print or email.
Secondly, I give them a (2) star because the "live chat" is not LIVE at all, more like IM'g with no one home. Customer Service - well, they will help you- but they're rude and hard to understand accent is not helpful at all.
Just be sure to immediately call AND send a message through the unLive Chat to MAke sure u are all cancelled out. The live chat stated they would get back to me in a day and I didnt want that to turn into whenever and get charged. Call the toll free number and cancel out of everything. BEFORE the 7th day!
Dear I M,

I had a really good experience with the site and didn't think it was misleading at all. I did my resume, and paid like $5. It said right there that I had a week to cancel, and I got an email that told me that. My resume looked great. I canceled online with no problem.
No idea why people don't read before they pull out their credit card. It wasn't even in fine print - was right there on the page.

Answer: This is what the site advertised: For 14 day access, $14.95, and for a year $39.80. However, signing up for ANY service aloows the site to store your payment information for further billing, and getting in touch with them, much less obtaining help is nigh impossible. After two weeks they will pull $39.80 MONTHLY from your payment method (please see my review and others on Google and yelp for further verification of this).
Answer: Do not use this site!
Answer: I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America, because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from my account. I wonder if they are in cahoots or what? I believe a class action suit may be required so we can get our funds back.
Answer: Call your bank and change your card number Call them and let them know you have contacted your bank and will contact the better business bureau of you don't get a full refund. Then contact the better bBB and file a formal complaint. You will have a refund within a week. That's how I got my money back
Answer: Dont waste your time trying to contact them. I went to my bank and had all future billing refused AND I went to the State Attorney General and reported them.
Answer: Hello, Sarah - Thank you for getting in touch with us, our subscriptions are auto-renewing, we have a continuous billing feature that charges your account after the 14-day period and every month for the regular price afterward. However, if you are only interested in the 14-trial and wish to avoid any recurring charges simply cancel your subscription before beforehand. We hope that this helps clear things up for you, if you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know. Best regards, LiveCareer US
