I posted auctions for original photography and offered free digital copies too.
They edited my account like a toddler, said I was breaking their rules. I was in my rights to offer something extra and my freedom of speech was violated.
STAY AWAY FROM LISTIA. User: Cyntech
It can be fun, would be a lot better if there weren't so many cheap idiots on it. My b/f and I both use it, he's had no problem with any of his auctions. I've lost over 2000 credits due to people who will say they either never got it ( my second auction, I purchase tracking now on everything) or people who find anything wrong ( had a seedling just up and dissapear out of the pot I shipped it in, go figure) and they will hold your credits hostage just for fun. I was doing free shipping so I'm out about 60 bucks in shipping fees in a few months. I'm spending what credits I have left and I'm done with that site. Also, people can file disputes, and if you dispute it, and there is no resolution to it, you both keep your credits, so, therefore, it is a way for "buyers" to get your stuff, keep their credits and hold your credits in Limbo, AND if the mods at listia find in the favor of the buyer, they get to KEEP your item, and their credits and you are SOL
I love listia but some auctions are scams before i put bids i check the peoples reviews from auctions they did before and i always got my stuff except for my first auction it was a reposted auction and the person didn't login for months and the persons auction kept reposting i got my credit back in 7 days and it was ok i got tons of free stuff and i always put free shipping when searching for auctions to bid on lol and when i put auctions i do free shipping in fairness so yeah :)
I love it but offering Free Shipping to the buyer all the time is SUPER expensive to the seller. When I list my items without offering "Free Shipping" they don't do well. Wish I knew how to sell but not go in debt with the shipping cost.
Hello Theresa T.,
We’re glad to hear you love Listia! Offering free shipping all the time can add up, but once you build experience and trust from users, and your items are of good quality, users will bid on items regardless of shipping charges. You can also mix it up and offer free shipping on some and charge on others. Having a low start bid will also entice users to begin bidding and watch your item. If you have any other questions, especially if they specifically pertain to your account, you can always submit a support ticket and one of our Admins will be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,
Tom
People trying to pass off jewelry as the real thing for way to many credits! I loved Listia but now it's crap. Overpriced junk. I use eBay and get lots better deals! People are so greedy!
I have been Listia Member for 3 years, I have 5000 FB, 100% Positive
NOW for some reason, a few weeks before Christmas, Listia revokes my credits privilages. No explanation, no warning.
When I asked them why, they said credits before shipping were a Privilages and they could revoke them for any reason. I have had no negative reviews, no complaints, no holds against my account WTF listia?
I'm out. The moderators like to bully the users.
Hello Farkel R., I’m sorry that you are unhappy with the rate at which your credits transfer to you. As you know, immediate transfer of credits is a courtesy we do extend to our Trusted Sellers, but there are times even those Sellers will have credits pending. It is based on their trusted credit amount, credits being used on the items that are being bid on, and their completion rate. It's not a set amount, but the more auctions you have successfully completed, the threshold increases and credits will release quicker. And as stated, it is a courtesy for the credits to auto-transfer. I hope this clarifies things for you and we hope you will continue to use Listia as you are a valued member.
Sincerely,
Tom
I'm about to close my listia account due to too many grasping, lying, manipulative and cheap members. I spend hours of my time, and a lot of money hand making the baby items i list, which I can otherwise sell for a decent profit on etsy or eBay, but I try to be a good person and offer my items for credits, rather than cash. I've never asked for more than 5000 credits for my items, and never sold them for more than 8000. They are professional, show-quality pieces. They're sold elsewhere as newborn photography props. I've seen cheaper knock-offs sell for ******* or more. However, I'm not greedy. I'd rather help someone in need than get credits. What bothers me is how buyers see a quality item, which is already listed at a severely low price with free shipping, and then either offer an insultingly low GIN, or send private messages for a custom order, wait until the item is made, then message that they don't have credits, and try to manipulate me to just send them the item for free. It's disgusting! So, after my current auctions end (which already have bids, so I can't close them) I'm deleting my account, and never looking back.

Listia use to be a pretty good site to trade things but now over 5% of the "members" are thieves looking to steal and scam. Even with horrible reviews these people are never removed.
Hi Philip. We're sorry to hear of your experience. We hope you were able to submit a support ticket when you experienced those users. We try out best to keep Listia fun and safe for our user. We hope you will continue to enjoy Listia.
I've been a member for over four years. The customer service is excellent. When I submit a question or support ticket. I never have to wait over a couple if days. Most questions will be answered the same day if you submit them soon enough. I may not always like what the answer is. But I consider them to be fair. If you want to be successful on listia. Here's what you should do... follow the rules. Offer up clean and useable items. Take good pictures. Give a clear description. Pretend that you are the potential bidder. What would you like to know? Answer any good question. It makes people more confident to bid on your listing. Always send your item. No matter what the final bid is. And ship in a timely manner with good packing and tracking. Be nice, be pleasant. Occasionally, you will get that "problem bidder". It's easy to block them. Keep everything positive. Your ads, your responses, your questions, etc. People will respond to your attitude. Again, always follow the rules! There are more things that I could say. But these are the basics. If you do these things, you will love a Listia too!
Hi Luann. Thanks for your feedback and also your great suggestions to other users. We appreciate it when our members go out of their way to help each other out to have the most successful experience on Listia. Thanks again!
I'm so sick of people putting up auctions and then DO NOT SHIP THE ITEM! It use to be 3 days before you were refunded, now it's 5 DAYS? Just idiotic to post an auction then turn around and DON'T ship the item having buyers credits sitting in LIMBO! After a seller having a HISTORY of doing the same negative thing OVER and over, why isn't there account SHUT DOWN?!
Hi Brad. Winners can request a refund as early as 3 days after the auction ends. The Seller then has 5 days to respond to the refund request. I hope this clarifies the days for you. As for non-delivery of items, we're sorry that you have experienced auctions such as these. The majority of our auctions end successfully. We hope future transactions end better for you.
Listia has changed their rules and updated their rules. I've sold some items lately. And it's been good. The old review of mine just disregard they recently allowed more than one account per address this was a issue for me back when they allowed 1 account per address when I made my first account it took weeks to verify my address cause my brother had used that address and he moved out and lived elsewhere but Listia did fix it. Also the coupon thing is kinda different. I sold a one time redemption code on there it even said in the email it was a one time redemption code admin said it was a coupon and argued with me about it but I just said ok I won't post it again then I gave it away for free. So my review has gotten much better. Still there is weird experiences I had such as a lady sold me a bad gift code I disputed it they didn't allow me to reply for some odd reason but Listia gave me my credits back so it was all good. Other than that ppl do sometimes sell items too high. But if u look around you might find that one big good buy.
Hi Timothy B.,
Thank you for your feedback. In our Terms of Service, you will find under Membership Eligibility:
One Account per Person, Maximum of Four Accounts per Address or Household
No individual is permitted to have more than one single account at any time. No more than one account is permitted per computer. No more than four accounts are permitted per address or household.
This is in place to ensure safety on our site. As for credits and their value, we do not have a credit-to-cash ratio as it varies depending on the Listia economy. It all varies based on supply and demand.
If you ever have any issues, questions or concerns, please contact our support team. We strive to maintain an enjoyable and safe site for all our users.
Sincerely,
Tom
I sold an item for over 50,000 points. Been selling items for over a year without any problems. Anyhow, I mailed out the item to the winner and she claims she never got it. She disputed it and got her credits back even though I provided a receipt from the post office. I was supposed to buy tracking as well! I never had to do this before on ANY of my listings. Ok, so how am I supposed to know if this lady is lying or not?! I provided proof on my end, yet get screwed out of money paid for postage, plus the item? So not fair. I've listed about 7 items within the past few weeks, and about half of them disputed their winnings. One guy tried to say I gave him a wrong game code. I didn't. He didn't get his points back. Another lady claimed I sent her a dirty item, when in fact, it was brand new. I'm real tired of dishonest people on Listia, and if it continues, am cancelling my account. People just want something for free and have figured out how to do so on Listia. Be cautious if you use this website.

Hello Julie M.,
We're so happy to hear that you enjoy being on our site! It's always good to hear users having a good time winning items! Hope your experience continues to be positive! We really appreciate you being a great member!
Thanks!
Tom
The inflation is just insane, thats why i do not use listia anymore. A $25 gift card used to end at 60,000. Now they end at 225,000+! Also some idiots bid over 100,000 credit for a $5 game (Aka resident evil 6). This site is not what it was back then.
2012: Site was great. I could win over 60+ auctions in the year.
2014: Site was adequate, I was able to win about 30+ auctions in the year.
2015: The inflation and the horrible customer service (PAYING FOR DAMN SHIPPING IF AN ITEM ARRIVED DAMAGE AND HAS TO BE RETURNED FOR REFUND). From $1 = 1,500 to $1 = 15,000) Listia did nothing and is the worst site to date.
Hi Johnson V.,
It's unfortunate that you've been blocked by sellers on our site but we believe in putting the power in the hands of the sellers and bidders and letting the free market place take its course. That feature is available to all sellers who feel the need to prevent someone from bidding on their auction, for whatever reason, and at their discretion. The vast majority of the sellers do NOT do not block others, because it's not in their best interest (they lose potential sales). So please try to work it out with them to see why you're being blocked repeatedly. If you need further help, please contact our support team and they can tell you which action may be leading to that result. Thanks and good luck!
You asked for it, so here you are, a big #$@! And one star because i can't give less. My account was banned due to "Funneling credits". I don't even know what that means and i cannot find it in the terms eighter. I've solt one product to a friend to have one single positive feedback. So now i've lost tge credits and the account. Well, keep on doing what you do, i bet your site will be down in notime ;) Bye
LISTIA IS THE WORST SITE I HAVE EVER USED. The rules state you are allowed 3 accounts per house hold my son who doesnt live with me opened one my daughter who doesn't live with me opened one and I opened one no where on earth would this be considered 3 accounts in one household but when I had over 5oooo points and my daughter had nearly 9500 and my son had ******* all three accounts were suspended in the same day stating we had multiple accounts when I asked them to show me my supposed other account they brought up my son's account and my daughters account when they provided proof that they lived in other towns the accounts were reinstated but with no points. Then a few months later the same thing happened. I spent a total of over $500 shipping free items and lost the points 2x and lost the items and money... site is a huge scam
Hi Jessica,
We are following up with you regarding your concern. I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience. Please let us know what your support ticket number was so we can review it. These people suspended my account for NO reason and took THOUSANDS of dollars of my credits! I had 100% feedback and never had a complaint from ANYONE. This is GRAND LARCENY. These people belong in JAIL. And don't bother telling me to contact customer support, they are the biggest frauds of all!
All that I say is from my own six months of experience in trying to deal in a fair and just adult method! They promote the sell of recipes and such of drugs that are illegal. It is run by a group of Pagans that will mess with your computer and make your life miserable until you leave if you believe in God. The rules are not even known by their own staff and are interchangeable at whim depending upon the parties being dealt with. They consistently misuse their authority and collect credits which if they are a part of the company, what need would they have for this. They try to force everyone to ship free, and if you are on their blacklist, they will not uphold their own shipping rules! The worst site on the internet and hope how soon they are called out and removed because of the injustice. Allowing anyone to sell recipes calling for illegal drugs to make candy, which can be used to give children and take any and all immoral liberties of the child! What is this and how can it be allowed on a website where 13 year old children are allowed? Here is a link if you would like to check it out... http://www.listia.com/auction/*******-medical-marijuana-jolly-ranchers-recipe
I would give it a zero if I could. I ended up PAYING out of pocket $100.00 of my money because 1. I am not a shipping company with scales, packing material, boxes and other items for shipping items that are being GIVEN away. You cannot walk into UPS say, "gee wiz guys, can you weigh, box this for me and give me an estimate and I will pay you after I get paypal from someone else?" I was given limited time to ship items, one of them was 'free' because it was a coat, the rest I ATE. Yes, I billed the members only to find out, neither of them can 'understand English' enough to pay me. They could communicate just fine bidding, asking questions, as soon as I sent PAYPAL request, it got quiet, too quiet. NO one is paying me.
Yes I have sent things through normal channels of Ebay. Usually most of us reimburse our shipping costs through careful pricing, to neither gouge the client nor gouge the seller. Here there is no way to protect yourself. One of my bidders had a history of not paying for her shipping (twice!) and Listia, say's "hey, what's the prob? No big deal, just re list your items."
Honestly, I had to pull two so called auctions for EXPENSIVE items, because of harassment by bidders: the items to them are FREE, this is what gets me... continual $#*!ing about everything under the sun, and then... no English, me pay how?
No I will not ever do this again. My 'give aways' will be true give aways to shelters, to food banks, to battered shelters, to churches. This little exercise cost me money, time, stress and worse, emotional distress dealing with the folks who simply like using others.
Its real and you can get free stuff with credits like using others refers and posting yours also surveys give you credits and Facebook game can also give you credits please use my refer link/code so we both get some more credits thank would highly recommend this site and app... A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ my refer code DHYJKM please use if you have not joined yet thanks ps it also gives you a additional 1,000 credits
Answer: Stacy L Some sellers can even display they really sent mail, they take digital photo when they send mail. They can even show out. But because listia recoginze tracking code. Even if you can even display the mail and correct address correct person, showing u had really sent mail, because no tracking code. Listia would still return all credit back to buyer.
Answer: Because listia is a joke. Complete scam..
Answer: Its just a game even the verified people you cant trust to many children on listia and grown men that act like children
Answer: Listia is an online marketplace where you win other people's stuff using credits instead of money. All users on our site act as both a Buyer and Seller. If you are bidding on items you want from our site, you are considered a Buyer. If you are giving away items on our site, you are considered a Seller :)
Answer: They don't deal in cash, unless you want to buy listia credits. That being said, you can make some bank if you have a good product by what credits you make on it. Then, you could use those credits to bid on gift cards and more pricey stuff that has actual value. I use the site for hard to find seeds, and it has been good for me. As for making money? Not so easy to see a real profit.
Answer: I hate that so much. You might want to contact the owners themselves and report it since they may not even be verified, meaning it's not even safe for the seller.
Listia has a rating of 2.1 stars from 415 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Listia most frequently mention customer service, gift card and many people. Listia ranks 165th among Auction sites.
Hi C. S.
We are sorry if you are unhappy with an auction edit. To avoid unwanted edits, you may want to review our rules and prohibited items list so that it doesn't happen again. https://www.listia.com/rules#prohibited
Thank you.
