Never ever trust your memories to Legacy Box. 60 years worth of pix and videos were lost on return. The $30 insurance is vague with no details provided. Customer service is terrible. All our original videos are gone, and they haven't held up their promise to insure everything for $1000.
I ordered service on Legacybox to convert some VHS tapes, after hearing it on a radio show, and it is a SCAM. I waited two weeks and never did receive the package to ship my tapes to them for conversion, & paid $82.50 for the two tape box. When it did not arrive I sent multiple emails about it, which NO response, until I demanded a full refund. All I am getting is a partial refund, for $72.35 from them.
Sent videos weeks ago. Just sent my 8mm tapes back but no CD? Ordered an E Card too and can't get the promo code to work. They will not take phone calls so there is no one to ask about these issues. Absolutely awful customer service.
Placed an order to have two tapes transfered to a zip drive.

I ordered because they were advertising 50% off and we had a box of films from hubbys childhood. Easy to send, love their process of keeping the customer in the loop during the whole time. Our digitized footage arrived for Valentines Day and we sat down to watch everything immediately. Thank you Legacy Box for preserving precious video of my husbands family, especially his father who passed at a young age. It was touching watching hubby relive the memories. Kind of like Chevy Chase in the attic in Christmas Vacation. I would highly recommend the Legacy Box package. We now have media that we can access and share.

Very pleased with the whole process. Sent variety of media, VHS, Super 8,8mm, etc., and got back individual DVD's of each item. Great way to preserve very important memories.

I sent in 1o VHS tapes of precious family videos with stated 6-8 weeks processing. I didn't receive them back for 20 weeks which made me extremely nervous. The results are TERRIBLE. I would classify a great many videos as unwatchable. On some, the audio is does not match the video? How can that be? I basically have to take my original tape and copy it off myself to use it. Thank God I received the originals back. I will NEVER think about using Legacy Box ever. How they are in business is a mystery.

Our process is to provide a one-to-one transfer of each of your items as they play on our equipment. Since we do not offer any editing or enhancement services, any quality issues that exist on the original item will be present in the digital files. We sent in VHS tapes to get them put on DVDs. Watching the DVDs is painful because of stops and starts with blank blue screen, flickering, blurry and a lot of snow. Terrible quality. It is disappointing. I wouldn't recommend.
I paid over $800 to LegacyBox in January 2018 to convert 2 sets of family cassettes into digital files. Next week is July 2018, still not completed. I was promised 4-6 week completion. Its now 6 Months later and no files yet. The first excuse was that their cloud server went down. I had to resend the whole box of tapes. The second time they said they couldnt get google drive to work. So I sent the tapes a third time. Im still waiting. Ive asked that the President call me to explain whether they are capable of doing the simple job or not. No answer. The CSR staff are all nice enough on the phone. But its clear there must be chaos in the production department. Im a disgusted customer, still waiting for my files to be delivered.
Sent in my box with 19 tabbed pieces. Get an email from the company saying I have 21 pieces….ridiculous! I counted it carefully. They are extorting money! I know how to count and was exceedingly careful preparing box. The customer service is terrible! I have requested a supervisor many times to Kellan but they refuse… no one calls me. They just want my additional $$$ for something I already fully paid for! Watch out. DONT USE

I have loved this product! It has been priceless to watch my old VHS tapes. I had over 30 tapes of 3 different sizes. Getting the thumb drive was like Christmas! We were able to watch our wedding video which we hadn't watched for over 30 years. So many memories! I'm sending off another order with slides from my late father from 1958. What amazing technology. This order will probably be pictures I've probably never seen!

I had pictures from almost 60 years ago that obviously can't be replaced. I wanted to take them out of a photo album and put them on a memory card for my parents and family to enjoy again. I was hesitant about sending them away but LegacyBox kept me advised on every step of the process. I got the originals back in the same condition and a memory stick filled with those memories to share! My parents loved seeing those photos again! I always wanted to watch my old movies I had in storage, but didn't have the proper equipment to do so. Legacybox gave me the opportunity to convert them into CD's and I'll be forever grateful My deceased parents had been brought to life again, allowing my family and siblings to enjoy, laugh and cry all over again. Poor service! Order was received on March 30th and is now about 13 weeks. I am concerned and contacted them. Same company line high volume low staff. May take up to 20 weeks? Really don't use this company!

These 16mm reels have been in the family storage box for decades. Not knowing what to do or who to trust with them seemed overwhelming. After researching many options, we decided to trust Legacy Box. These films meant the world to my parents so I was nervous. Legacy Box kept me informed every step of the way! Let's just say that they exceeded our expectations! If I could hug them I would! Thanks so much for the wonderful memories from the 1950's and 60's...we will be using this service again soon!
I sent every photo and video I've ever taken of my family. It is a vulnerable thing to share your images. The company promised a lifetime back up and guess what? In a move we lost our thumb drive, I paid to order another just a year later and they said they destroyed the files. They also wouldn't answer my second call until I used my husband's cell phone. I'm fairly sure this is run out of a basement or trailer, who knows, but don't bother. Spend a little more for a legitimate company.

Sent 7 VCRS to be converted to DVD's. Six of the returned items were hard to watch due to white streaks on 5 of the DVD's the 6th one was only white streaks. No picture. Left residue in my DVD omit. The 7th was a 2 hour movie that only had 45+ minuets. Many areas. Were cut out. I DO NOT recommend this company.
I saw legacybox on Groupon and although the production time is pretty long, their price was by far the best and have a very user friendly system and website. So I went ahead and paid for 10 video tapes and expedited production time, filled out their box (super easy and organized) shipped it out and after a few weeks I received it all in the form I requested. All was without any hiccups. I did accidentally sign up and paid for their backup subscription ($20 annually) but canceled it and when I called to ask for a refund they issued it right away. All in all 9/10!
Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
