The new platform is a waste of time. All pop up adds and businesses selling there products. I have used kijiji for many years and has become impossible to use and keep track of email addresses and people. No rating system so you have to deal with "kijiji" people. Done with this site.
Car dealers must pay $12 per ad. They fill up car pages with advertisements so the ad ends up on page 10 in minutes. Then they want $4.00 per hour to "bump up" the ads. It's outrageous. When is someone going to make a site that isn't totally sleazy?
Kijiji is the most screwed up crappy site around. The $#*!s shove so many ads down your throat that their crappy site glitches constantly. Every time you go on now it says network not available? Bs they cant fix the $#*!ty site ever. Or this is what happens when to many people watch cat videos. $#*! off kijiji you idiots. This only happens on your crap site. Do everyone a huge favor and go to hell with your ads that pop up on the bottom the middle the top of your page. You suck...
Kijiji used to be a place you could go to find people who had something surplus to sell. Now it is page after page of full-priced retailers selling new stuff. You have to wade through pages of "flyer-type" ads which just are trying to drag you into their store. Wasting lots of time.
I still post for selling but it takes a long time to find your own ad for checking purposes because of all the retail ads.
Kijiji used to be great but it is junk now. We live in Red Deer area and to find good homes for our puppies we would put an add up in both Calgary and Edmonton to reach more people. Now they will not allow this.
It used to be the go to to buy/sell used items, but now it's a real Joke. Searching for items has become more and more difficult since they just give you 4-5 legit search result and the rest is Ads from paid business like wayfair.ca (which is just a company that drop-ship cheap items from alibaba at high price).
Selling or offering service is a joke too, any excuse is good to delete your ads unless you pay. And anyway there traffic stats don't lie, they are dying slowly... At this point in time, just use Facebook Marketplace, you'll save yourself trouble...
I was using this scam website and it has so many ads against their posting standard. And now they are not allowing me to posting me ads. It is also a money making website. Now Facebook market place has down their business that's why if you pay or promote your ad then they allow to put any kind of ads otherwise they delete ads. Now it is also fake website.
Incredibly bad review system. Basically a platform for mean spirited people who don't make a sale to abuse the system and punish the customer. Even with copies of your interaction with the seller proving the bias, Kijiji will do nothing to fix the issue. I now understand why it has such a crappy rating.
Its not an exaggeration to say that I HATE Facebook... its even less of an exaggeration to say that my hatred of Kijiji has grown 1000 fold over the last 3 years. Okay... hyperbole aside, as of Jan 2021, in all honesty, I pains me to have to admit that my ads on FB marketplace now get 20 times more responses then my ads on Kijiji. Kijiji has become the new Craigslist... a dead marketplace where no one goes.
Bottom line... As of Jan 2021... FB Marketplace sells my stuff... Kijiji does not.
My first time to place a bunch of items for sale in Kijiji. Bad decision, Kijiji is full of buyers that are liars and a-hole. Bunch of chicken $#*! all talk no action. They promise to come pick it up and make you wait some do not call not coming, some call when time has already past that they do not want it anymore. I should do that as a buyer see what other people feel.
The Kijiji site was a nice usable site up until recently. The changes to the mobile sit have made it all but useless. I have many complaints. The mobile site is now very slow to load up each page as it gets bogged down loading advertising. The search feature has a strange issue that should really be fixed. I did like the site and visited often but not so much anymore, at least not from a mobile device.
1-there is no category for bartering and they keep not explaining what to do yet they keep deleting when i should be able to barter when i network, i am not child to be censored.
2- they deleted an that was there 4 weeks with another excuse
When they delete my only 1 ad when i allowed 2 pretending it was wrong when i have been posting same ads for 5 years.
Stop the bs of locking people out and do your real job.
I used to use this site for years before it changed. It was great. Now its pure $H!%. Just read some of the other reviews. If you want to avoid frustration and anger and avoid wasting your time and money. Just use craigslist. Im done with this garbage. Good luck.
First of all, it ALWAYS switches to french although my profile is clearly set to English.
Second, it's pretty much impossible to post a review so if this outfit becomes an accessory to swindlers you can't even warn the others that they will be taken for a ride.
Hope it will be driven out of business soon.
I have been very active on Kijiji for the past couple of years and I love it. I sell lots of stuff easily. I have over 80 5-star reviews and I could probably give out just as many 5-star reviews. I can shop for almost anything I need, including service people. I have been hearing lots of people mention Facebook Market place as a good place to buy and sell, but I love Kijiji and I really hope it remains the number 1 site for buying and selling goods and services.
This is the worst platform the look for anything. The overall review itself is quite evident. I wanted to post ad but I am blocked for no reason. I have mailed help desk in-numerous times with no response. Even I have had many paid ads in the past as well and also now. But looks like this is a fake site. Its spam.
I've been using this website for years and for the past year, this website continues to get worse when loading. If the reason for the slowness is excess users, I suggest upgrading the program. A suggestion is to stop loading all the adds. Nobody looks at them anyway. Just disappoints users looking to purchase products. May start using auto trader more often. It loads immediately.
Horrible search options, there's no option to view according to the most relevant, or price high to low etc.
The spam adds for multiple locations and search words spam all over the results. For example, when searching for "Coffee table" in Toronto, out of 20 results, 10 are spam ads repeating themselves for weeks.
Many many more flaws that I have no time to mention.
Kijiji used to be great. I made lot of business out of Kijiji in the past. Now a days, it is a piece of junk. Very rude customer support. Charging fee for posting on many categories. Unfortunately I didn't find any alternatively either. But I really hate Kijiji now.
Kijiji is a decent place to go find something you quickly need or have been saving up for. What sucks about this site is the amount of old degenerates that are on here. I swear these old people will NEVER learn how technology works or how to communicate online. Get the hell off the internet you ancient beings.
