I have been a cosigner for 3-year leased Kia car for my niece. It was paid on time and at the end of the lease, they want us to do the buyout. She couldn't do it because she moved from out of state. After 3 months they send us a bill of their revision to pay.
We arranged an automatic payment to finish it. They send us the first bill I pay it then they stop sending a bill due to the corona.
After 7 months received a call from them to pay the rest. I paid it in full right away but they went report the late payment to the credit bureau for my niece and for me too.
They were acting like they have this power on people.

I am absolutely disgusted! For almost 2 years I have been trying to transfer my leased vehicle from NY to MA where I currently live. They NEVER sent me the freaken title so I can make the transfer! Every time I call it's the same BS! How this company is still in existence is beyond my comprehension!

My car was totaled not due to my fault. Kia stopped my auto payments due to total loss. They shut down my online account but still wanted payment. The first person said I had to pay the $32,000 in full, then got a statement saying to make a payment, next person said no payment was due I said I want that in writing they transferred me to a manager which then said I had to make a payment right then and had to pay a fee because it was over then phone. They were holding up my insurance company on making a payment for more than 2 1/2 months so far. Now in Feb and they have the worse customer service where managers hang up the phone on clients, interrupt customers, they don't write down the correct notes. They still want this months payment but give no way to pay unless I pay processing fee.

Terrible financial
November 10, 2021

Had my car stolen and totaled by the insurance. Kia is trying to get from insurance the full blue book value rather than the buyout value thus making a profit of customer's agony rather than forwarding the credit balance to customer

Total loss/ GAP policy
November 5, 2020

This is the worst finace company I have ever dealt with. My car was totaled on 8/25/20 here it is November 5th and Kia Finance has yet to submit the information that my GAP claim is asking for. I have been calling weekly and been told that they will have to send a email to the total loss department. Don't even have a phone number for the total loss dept. Keep being told the information will be sent in 5 to 7 business days. I have never written a review before but I encourage others to not use KIA finance. I be damned if I am going to continue to pay a car payment for a vehicle that I haven't had in over 2 months. I purchased the Gap insurance for a reason. I will never buy another kia because of this. These customer service people don't have a clue. Worst ever. Do not buy or finance with KIA. Such a shame.

F@%K Kia Finance!
May 23, 2019

I paid my lease off over 5 months ago and need my title to transfer registration to a new state I moved too. 19 calls with Kia Finance and 5 calls to the State of CA, they still cannot figure out how to send me my title. They are now proposing I fly back to CA and go to a DMV to apply for a lost title. I haven't been able to drive the vehicle for almost 2 months now. They don't even deserve 1 star! So PISSED!

Fails at Basic Math
March 9, 2020

I financed a new 2019 Kia Sorento with Kia Finance and not one of the loan payments have been properly applied to the principal balance since the start of the loan. My balance should about $1000 less than what they are tracking. My February loan payment had $409 that should have been applied to the principal balance and yet it only decreased my balance by $10.

Complete IDIOTS
November 24, 2018

Called to skip a payment for the month of July because of financial reasons. They told me that they will email me a letter to fill out. I looked for several days for this letter. Nothing because I work alot I finally had a moment to call them back and then was put on hold forever and they told me they will send it again. Watched for this letter which was never sent again. Meanwhile my next car payment was due and I called again. They told me I was late on my July payment and it was to late to qualify for skipping that payment so now I am behind a payment with monthly charges. I emailed them and sent a letter to the company. Never responded. I never had an issue before with other companies skipping a payment. What morons!

Do not finance through them. Had a car the car was totaled. They were to send account summary over to my gap insurance to pay off balance. Everytime i called i was told 3 to five business days for gap to get summary. They told me that summary is being sent from total loss department but you cannot speak to them directly. And all they can do is send that department a email requesting that summary to be sent to my gap insurance. It has been 6 weeks and gap has still not recieved the summary so there is still a balance on my account because of them not doing what they are suppose to do. Very bad business on their part. Do not finance through them.

During Covid-19 they refused to answer the phone or emails. They state on the phone that the "Contact Us" is the way to get help with the virus from China. They never called nor answered any calls or emails. This company is the worst! Don't use this company.

My experience with you is a complete joke. Ihave been paying on a 2015 kia forte for a little over a year now and not one problem unti about 3 months ago when my payment was 2 day late. I have called them several times since i asked them for an extension for a partial payment they gave me one for October the extension came in november one day before my november payment was due then i tried to refinance with my bank and i couldnt because the car i am paying on isnt worth its price as well as them sinking my credit score about 50 points so i am now paying right out of my bank account and they are complete jerks about it

What canI say, what a great company. I have had 5 car loans through KMF. The first 3 I paid on time and then had to go bankrupt. I never missed a payment through the BK so when I wanted 2 new KIAs, they gave me a great rate that was several points lower than anyone else offered me. I can't peak for the experience of others, but it pays to pay on time.

Kia sucks
August 10, 2020

Kia is not for customers. During this COVID time they have not offered to help me. The representatives are incompetent. They have merged my account with someone else when I was talking to customer service for 40 minutes. They requested to have fees waived and then when I called they said I still owe 173 when it is suppose to be 24 dollars. The customer service was rude about it to as well. Talking to me like I'm lying. Also the account has been delayed by a month showing the I current amount as well. It has been like this for 5 months. I have informed them as this as well. Corporate has been informed today. Let's see if the contact me. Business aren't what they use to be and it is said especially right now.

In June 2021, I bought out my lease on a 2018 Kia Soul EV (electric).

KMF improperly collected more than $860 tax (in NJ which has prohibited tax on electric vehicles since 2005). I only discovered this when re-titling my car as they didn't handle that correctly either though they were paid to. Despite weekly calls, dozens of hours of my time, jumping hoops to submit written claims, and tax exempt forms (repeatedly I might add as they couldn't locate them) I am still without any resolution.

December 10,2021 KMF indicated a refund was approved but as of my last call yesterday (March 10,2022) the check is MIA again, somehow, and there is zero accountability or indication they ever intend to address this error.

Sadly, my dealer Fette Kia in Clifton, NJ also is no help.

Run, do not walk away from doing business with KMF.

Sad thing? I actually like the car, but this company is terrible. Not remotely customer centered or accountable.

See you in small claims!

Worst service
October 6, 2021

I am current a customer of KMF and they have the worst service. Mind you I am a current paying customer for over 1 year, every single payment I have made has been on time of before the due date. They double charged my account and when I made them aware of the double charge and they told me they would refund me a check by mail that would take 10 buissness days, this company runs on ancient software and does not have any form of customer service, no empathy. By far the worst company I have ever dealt with and I myself work for a finance company and understand the service required and they are beyond below that standard.

Love the car; I have good credit and got 0% rate; not even 30 days past due; then this...

I have received four 'attempts to collect a debt' from these shylocks. I've talked to them every time and it seems that their reps cannot take correct notes or, as I was told, they "don't have time to read the notes." They don't listen and they don't care. When I insisted that the FOURTH caller take the time to read the notes, she read back exactly what I knew and had told them the FIRST time.

Now I wish I had bought another brand. Not sure that they are not all the same, but the only way to express my displeasure is to NEVER do business with them again.

I paid bought out my lease in February. I waited 30 days to get my title and nothing came. I contacted them and they said they mailed it, then I needed to call DMV. I kept calling Kia. They said they needed an odometer statement. I sent this numerous times, still no title. Then, they said I owed taxes on my vehicle. I sent a check for taxes which wasn't cashed. I went to update my registration on another vehicle and they said my car is still titled under Kia finance so I think they are purposefully holding my title to get extra money. If I send another check they will cash both of them and pocket the extra. My car was paid off in February and still titled to Kia in October. I am filing a complaint with the attorney general and I really hope someone files a class action. It would have been better financed because a bank wouldn't even be able to repo it without it titled

I leased a Soul through KMF and was 2 months ahead on my payments. My wife was in an accident and totaled the vehicle. She was not at fault and Progressive handled the claim. That's where the problems started. Kia would not talk to the insurance company. I had to play mediator between Progressive and Kia. After a month of jumping through hoops, calling Kia, calling progressive, calling kia back, it supposedly got resolved with Progressive sending Kia a check. Yet i noticed my kia account stayed active and 2 months later they were still billing me for the car. I called Kia and they said that Progressive missed something and until they recieved an updated evaluation, they would continue to bill me. This is despite the fact that I received a letter from Kia stating that the car was a total loss and I no longer had to make payments. The rep on the phone informed me that while i don't have to make payments, it will affect my credit. A complete SCAM. I repeat do NOT buy or lease a KIA.

I moved from MA to ME in August 2017. In January 2018 I got a bill from KMF for $224 for excise tax in MA. I faxed a letter and all the right documentation to prove that I now lived (and so did my car) in ME and not in MA. A year later, I get the same notice. I call, they claim they never received my property tax abatement request or documents. This time I mail all the documents to them registered mail through USPS. I few days later I get a confirmation from USPS that my package has been delivered. A year later in January 2020, I get the same notice. I call and customer service tells me to fax or mail the stuff again because they never received it. And when I ask for a number to reach KMF's property tax department they tell me (basically) there is no such number. This is ridiculous. I want a new Soul, but I cannot go through this again.
