Great tutorial website with lots of informative videos on numerous math concepts. We enjoy Beestar better as it has more practice questions and helps the kids more with the exams. However both website work really well and it helps our kids refresh their memory when they forget some math concepts.
It is great that the videos of the educational subjects are told with a superior approach and language. The choice of images and presentation is successful in terms of analysis of the subject. Offers in-depth examples.
This learning game is very good to my 4 brothers and sisters, i have been them long enough to know this, i thought it was very good, so I got it my self! It was AMAZING, you click on what grade you are in ( im in 4th) then if you are having trouble with a lesson at school, you can go to that, it has all of the lessons a preschooler, kindergardener, 1 grader 2 grader ect. Should need. And it goes up to college! So my point of view, people that do not have the app, get it! It will be right for you!
Very helpful. He explains the concepts very simply without losing the depth of the concepts. This has definitely helped me in college. Reviewing topics I hadn't mastered in previous classes has helped me with later classes which build off said topics.
It's not that bad but not that good. I mean I've seen worse learning sites that rip you off while Khan Academy is free. Sometimes I think that Sal is loquacious about things such as Math and History, but it has a free Pre-SAT test there for you to practice.
Don't do khan academy because you have to pay when you want to sign up. But it is free to schools and that's the only thing that's good. And if you want to get untill 100% you have to do itagain. And if you get questions wrong, then you have to do it over again that stresses me out.
Without going to university I start learning on Khan academy YouTube channel for free. The quality of their content make knowledge accessible to every one thank you
They honestly are the reason I have been able to get through some of my harder classes.
Great style, fairly clear and much better organized than if I just went to their YouTube page.
It provides lessons and videos of every topic in math. Its fun to learn when you can get points to upgrade your avatar. This is a good site that makes learning fun.
Khan Academy could be a very helpful website if we could tweak a few things. First, once a person mastered a skill it should STAY mastered. I would suggest teaching the subject before you try to do it and take kids averages down. And DUMP AND DITCH Sal! He has a lazy way of talking that is hard for kids to pay attention too him and his handwriting could use improvement. This was NOT intended to be mean review but SERIOUSLY MAN no one wants to listen to you talk for 10 hours!
Khan Academy is definetly a step up from IXL (tip: NEVER USE IXL). But it is not a big step up from IXL. I got really mad because I put in the wrong LETTER, and I ended up getting it completely wrong. Didn't know we were judging english errors in a math section. Another thing; Khan Academy is really confusing. The dashboard has so many features and so much crap, that I lost what I was doing and I cannot find my homepage. Oh, and in the end of your session, they give you a rating on how you did. Its like saying "Hey! You got 43%, you're almost halfway to being as smart as your dog who is licking its butthole right now!". Super encouraging (sarcastic vioce activate). Someone please make an OK math website. Khan Academy has lots of problems and I do not want to keep sitting through this. I agree *******@Reba F.
I used to love khanacademy, I thought it finally made math fun. But after a while, it got kind of old, and it wasn't as much fun. The graphics and site quality is really good. But some of the problem wording is really confusing, and some of it just isn't that engaging. I'm guessing a majority of people will disagree with me, but I just didnt think that it stayed interesting after you saw it for a while.
Excellent learning tool, great variety of topics to choose from, website looks great and is very easy to find what I'm looking for. Teachers are very professional and eager to teach.
For those of you who think this is bad, you should try Aleks. Khan Academy is way better than Aleks and actually helps you with videos made by ACTUAL PROFESSIONALS unlike Aleks. Hate Aleks? I suggest you give this a try.
So when I was doing ixl I was having a lot of stress, but when I did khan academy It literally CHANGED MY LIFE! You gain minutes and it helps you learn. Khan academy if your reading this, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CHANGING MY LIFE!
This website is so helpful you get taught the right way and when you do it it makes you smarter ill definitely recommend
This might be an outlier review, I am an 18yr old college student trying to study for the College math CLEP test, which would exempt me from a couple math classes in school. As a kid, I hated math, I was brought to tears every time I thought about it, I never understood it or had a single positive experience with it. To the point where I thought something was wrong with me. As a little girl, this really took a toll on me. Fast forward some years later, i'm taking on the task of studying math on my own this summer to take a CLEP test that would exempt me from taking 2 math classes in school. Knowing how much I had to learn in front of me, I decided to do Khan Academy.
For the first time in my entire life, math doesn't suck. Sal's careful explanations help me understand concepts that I haven't understood for multiple years. I went into Khan Academy skeptical, because like many of the kids writing reviews, I took 'Khan Academy Kids' as a youngster and thought it was very boring. Compared to any other learning program for higher level college math, it's a breath of fresh air. No 30 min videos that are depressing just to watch, no boring questions you'll never use in life. I mean who wouldn't want to watch Sal teach a math problem using 5 different colors and whatever obscure object he comes up with to represent the value of x?
With Khan academy, I'm actually learning, I'm actually happy, I have hope to pass my exams, and most importantly, Sal is reshaping my impression of math from an instant reminder of childhood frustration and sadness, to something that I even catch myself having fun with. I never thought it was possible. If you or your kid is like me and just never 'gets it' when it comes to math (especially algebra), please consider Khan Academy.
Nice site video lectures about everything. Cover almost every topic of student. Nice site for every student
It makes me learn new things I like to practice all my skills in math I now do 6th grade math and i'm in 3rd grade
You can even practice for tests like the SAT and MCAT! I love khan academy! It really helped me get better grades!
Answer: There is an old adage in education, that 'Spaced' learning is more effective than 'Clumped' learning. Waiting for the next Mastery challenge teaches patience, allows you to practice more skills in the dashboard, so the mastery challenges have more to do assessment on, and as you note, ensure that the concepts are transferring from short-term, to long term memory in your brain.
Khan Academy has a rating of 2.3 stars from 89 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Khan Academy ranks 91st among Math sites.
