Karaoke version has a very user friendly purchase and download process. They do not require a minimum purchase, nor do they require their songs to be in a specific format or on CD. Their sound quality rivals that of other respected karaoke brands. If a song has incorrect lyrics, they have a process to suggest the corrections. When corrections are made, the updated version of the song can be downloaded at no additional charge. I have only had to reach out to customer service once and got a prompt response. The only slightly negative aspect I see is that on some custom tracks they combine multiple "background" singers into one track that cannot be separated if wanting only some of the background. Other than that I am highly satisfied!

I use their backing tracks for my band. I usually buy the custom versions in order to mute tracks for live play. I love how none of their songs fade out. Out of all the songs I bought I was not pleased with only one. I contacted the company to tell them I thought this particular song was not a very good rendition. They apologized and offered to replace the song with another of my choice. I don 't think anyone could ask for more.

I have in the past bought some good quality karaoke CDG files. I asked to be on the list when a specific song became available for karaoke. I received an e-mail that my song was now available, so I went to their website and purchased the download. When I clicked download I only got an MP3 file, no words. I e-mailed them and requested a refund because an mp3 is worthless for karaoke. They quickly responded and said no refunds, but they put a coupon on my account for my next purchase. They did not suggest that they have the CDG version of the song, but I found it in their catalog and downloaded it using the coupon. Not the smoothest of transactions, but no scam.

THE WORST! I went there thinking I was purchasing CDGs, like their
Website says. Turns out it's ONLY downloads. They say "Well you're
Free to record them" but you can get most karaoke songs for FREE and
Download them that way, so why purchase (what they claim are) CDGs when
It's ONLY downloads? They need to be more clear about that! SO
DISAPPOINTED! Not only that, but it's very expensive for the purchase of just one song.

Oh, and if you email them to dispute this, they
Really talk down at you, as if you're the idiot. Then they close your
Account. They are just horrible. There are many other reputable
Karaoke websites out there. You don't need to use these crooks.

After spending a couple of years trying to find a good site to buy karaoke versions of the songs I liked, I have found the best three. Below is the review of one of them, www.karaoke-version.com.

The Good

- The colorful background of the videos makes these versions attractive. This sets it apart from other sites such as thekaraokechannel.com which has black background.

- The quality of the music is very close to the one played by original artist. The sound quality is also good. There is no audible noise. These qualities make it much better than all the free karaoke sites.

- It has backing tracks for guitar, bass, drum, and piano. Not many of other karaoke sites have this feature. Some of my friends bought backing tracks for guitar to practice with their bands.

- It has backing vocal versions for some songs. I always buy these versions whenever possible because they make my singing sound richer. Most of other karaoke sites also have this feature.

- It has multiple formats such as mp4, wmv, CDG, kfn so the songs you bought will play in any device.
- Its collection is large. It does not say how many it has but from my experience it must be in the thousands because I have never found a popular song that it does not carry.

- It allows me to sample the songs I like BEFORE buying it. Each sample lasts about 40 seconds. All commercial karaoke songs have this feature.

- It stores the songs I bought on its site indefinitely. That means after downloading them to my computer, if I lose them, I can download them again. Additionally, I can access my songs anywhere and anytime. Many other karaoke sites also have this feature.

- Its service is quick and convenient. After paying for my songs with my credit card, I can download them and play them right away.

- It has some free songs.

The Not-So-Good

- It charges $2.99 a song which is more expensive than some other sites. For example,. thekaraokechannel.com charges $1.49 a song.

- It does not allow me to suggest a song I need. That means there is no way I can ask them to create a karaoke version for it.
