I've always wanted a set of Japanese steel knives and these don't disappoint. The thing that strikes me most is how well-balanced they are. Really amazing. It will take some practice sharpening them with the preferred method but well worth the effort. Highly recommend them to everyone.
While I was drying off one of my knives, it snapped in half. I took a picture of the knife emailed the company on a holiday weekend. They replied later that night, and shipped me a new set which I received within three business days! Talk about standing by your product.

The knives are beautiful, but a piece of the smallest knife chipped off when I first took it out if the box. Disappointing since it was meant to be a present. The knives are affordable but not cheap either, I expected a stronger knife and hope that my two other pieces won't break easily.

These knives are no joke when it comes to sharpness. My husband was using one for the first time and darn near sliced through his finger by just pushing the knife a few inches back on the cutting board. He thought it was the back of the blade but it was the cutting edge. I mean if you are looking for sharp knives, these are probably the gold standard. Well worth the price!

I've always been fascinated with traditional Japanese swords and sword-makers, so I naturally gravitated towards Kamikoto products which are steeped in the same traditions. I now own the whole collection except the steak knives which I have no use for. I like the way they feel and perform. Very sharp, cuts cleanly. The single bevel takes some getting used to because there is a tendency to cut unevenly while cutting large cuts of meat. However, after a few cuts, one gets used to using the single bevel.
I purchased the 7-inch Damascus Santoku knife - hands down the sharpest knife I have ever owned. Fantastic for chopping herbs, slicing tomatoes, dicing chicken... anything requiring a delicate, accurate touch. Very well balanced, great handle and an overall good size for any task. If you have one knife in your drawer, it should be this one.
