I was a little hesitant about using the site and having to give my credit card information up front. I started by emailing but once I started emailing back and forth with the expert, I asked for a phone call which happened in minutes. I found the whole experience very worthwhile and would use it again in the future.

Outstanding Job

I had a start menu problem. Martin did an oustanding job and he solved the problem quickly. He knew there was a problem with the start menu that show that he knew what problems occur and knew how to fix them.

After being away on vacation, and on my return taking a routing upgrade on my personal desktop computer, I found that the property to be able to duplex print (on both sides) had somehow been eliminated. I was unable to restore it, but the Canon website introduced me to JustAnswer and following their directions, I was able to describe the process and almost immediately was contacted by their Technician. For a very nominal fee, he asked some questions, and through their program, took over my computer, diagnosed and resolved the problem. I was most pleased and impressed with the service.

I used the service for the first time when under blizzard conditions my furnace failed. With the roads closed there was no hope of getting an HVAC repairman. From YouTube videos I was pretty sure it was the flame sensor and that it might only need to be cleaned, however, the YouTube videos were not specific to my model. A web search for more info on my furnace model produced the Justanswer website. The HVAC expert, Airheatman walked me through the process step by step, trading furnace photos where it was helpful, and I cleaned the flame sensor, thereby successfully restoring heat to my home. He was patient and professional. In addition to sparing me the loss of heat and saving me a lot of money, I now have this knowledge for the future if needed. There appears to be a variety of experts available on JustAnswer and I would consider using this service again.

Brad is a Dodge Expert!

Brad was able to diagnosis the problem with my Son's truck with just the information I gave him and without the opportunity to see the truck. Wish we had contacted him before throwing money at the problem without any resolution. Should any other issue come up with the truck, we will most definitely contact Brad again!

Take that, Uncle Sam!

I am seriously scared of tax season this year. A company I used to work for spun off a sub company, which sold, and then the parent company sold to a public company. I have shares in both companies... and no idea what the tax implications are. Talk about a mess come April 15! I had a ton of questions and I don't have a CPA. I'm typically a TurboTax kinda person, but this year is going to be different. A friend of mine told me that I could talk to an accountant through JustAnswer, so I gave it a shot. I'm seriously impressed! The accountant walked me through my tax liability at both companies, gave me a general idea of my AMT burden and just made me feel more confident in general before filing my taxes. I really want the woman I spoke with to do my taxes for me. Not sure they offer that service, but I'm going to ask!

I ask for help diagnosing my dishwashers poor performance. With out asking any questions his reply, after 2 days was "More than likely the motor impeller has become detached, then the unit will fill with water and the motor will turn on, but no water will be pumped around to wash the dishes."
I read a few more forums and found it was the rinse aid and the soup. I switched to what they recommend as well as run a couple of CRL cycles and it good as new.
I was lead to believe I only had to pay if I liked the advice. So somehow the Appliance Guru got $24 and a 5 star rating?

Update:
So I was contacted by an administrator from JA and refunded my money plus an additional $38.00 CND. (I will return the money, I wasn't looking to make anything on this post) Now my first review was harsh due to the attention I got and what seamed to me like a scam. I wanted answers. Now after conversing with Adam I get the feeling that this service has a lot of merit or potential. I've read good reviews before using the service. I just didn't get ahold of my professional at a good time, got one of the bad ones or slipped through the cracks some how. We are still dealing with the human element!

SCAM

Don't use JustAnswer. Once you give them your credit card number they pull the money out even before they give you a answer. They also put you on a page that gives you three options on how much you want to pay for their service a month. They have it fixed so you have to choose one. Then your stuck. They say they have a chat line. THERE IS NO CHAT LINE. After several phone calls all you get is recordings. NO PERSON ANSWERS THE PHONE. Email is AUTOMATIC RESPONCES. DON'T DO IT, IT'S A SCAM

Had a question about my outboard motor that I never got an adequate response on and subsequently requested a refund. 3 months later I discover the bastards were debiting my checking account for $37 a month. Don't EVEN use them, TOTAL RIPOFF!

We recently lost power to over a dozen electrical outlets in my house. I have a basic knowledge of household electricity, but all of the regular "check the breakers and GFCI" type advice didn't work, neither did checking the voltage at my breakers. I NEEDED EXPERTISE, not conjecture!

So, my first experience with Just Answer landed me with an "expert" named Jason, who guided me (online, of course) as I went through the process of elimination needed to find and correct the problem. With his asistance we determined the cause of the problem, made the correction and saved a costly electrician visit.

I WILL use this service again for future needs.

I wrote my questions on the website and received answers the following day. If I had to make an appointment with a solicitor I would have to wait at least a week and the answers would probably not have been given on that day. The answers prevented me from wasting time. There is no other way to access a barrister quickly unless you are wealthy.

Surprisingly impressed

I posed a question to a pediatrician about trying to get my 5-month-old son to start sleeping in his crib. She wrote back an extremely detailed reply and followed up a week later to hear how the transition was going! Then I had an really complicated tax question so I decided to see if an accountant could help me out. I got step-by-step instructions that will save me hundreds if not a few thousand dollars in accounting fees. I'm officially a fan!
