I have used the services of Intelius to dig up some data for the sake of promotion of my business and to my surprise, the entire experience went very well. I don't know why people have given negative ratings and reviews to Intelius on petty issues that also happen with other service providers and come under the category of technical issues for which you can't blame a service provider. Of course, I came across some issues as well during the process of getting desired details however, those issues were not worth noticing and the technicians and support staff from Intelius were courteous enough to help me out and resolve my issues. I am definitely going to get the services of Intelius if such requirements for my business rise again because as a business person I know how difficult it is to find a reliable vendor that is capable of providing quality services with a minimum of issues.
I wrote this already. The 2 ladies at Intelius did a great job getting me hooked-up, but signing up should be way easier on your website. It only took a dumb phone, laptop and baby tablet to get the job done and a good - plus hour at that. I looked up my own unpublished telephone number.
The site posts all sorts of seemingly important "we're looking a this and that" pages, with statements indicating what it will show needs to remain for private, for my use only bullcrap.
But in the end all it told me was the county the area code is registered to...
No Kidding, you don't need to pay any money and sit for 5 minutes waiting while this dumb site to make useless webpages, with no pertinent information.

I would give a three star because the results told only first name but not the last name. So. This helps a little. The results did not provide the address. The also provide the location of the phone number. This is how Intelius works for me for finding a phone number. First, type the whole phone number including the areacode. Secondly, pay for fee either with a credit card or debit card. Thirdly, wait until you receive an email from them. They will email you whether not they find it. Fifth, view the results. Good luck. It depends what phone number you are searching. Some numbers are more private than others. Last but not least, do not use Spokeo and peoplesmart=scam.
I like the fact that I can look up numbers of someone that keeps calling even when told to stop calling me. The amount that they tell you it will cost to look up a phone number. Once you setup an account you have to pay the. 95 cents to look at the number. Then you have to pay $3.99 for that information. It's kind of a bait and switch. Why not just say the total amount that it will cost. $4.94. It's a big push to sell you monthly plans. I only needed 1 phone number to be looked up. I like the ease, that I can search a phone number and find out who is calling me from my recliner at home!

Everything they do - you can see in the source code. It's all a marketing game to make it appear like they are "searching the internet" and "downloading all the data" when that's just a sales presentation to get you to purchase - they have the info already in their database. They need to create the illusion and the shenanigans to get you to buy into it.

I am an attorney that has used Intelius to locate relatives for probate/real estate purposes. I can't say that I have been able to find everyone I needed to find but Intelius was always the first place I went to get a good start.

I'm trying to use the online peopleconnect process to remove my data, but something about it is broken and it doesn't work. Strike one against them. Okay, so then I email them, and they take three days to respond. Strike two. And when they finally respond, they give me the runaround and waste my time acting like they can't find the totally obvious records with my data. I'm the only one in the entire world with my name and I send them a link that points them straight to my data. Strike three.
Stay away from this shady, privacy-invading, incompetent company. Don't ever buy a report from them. And if you need to remove your data, don't give up, and don't let them get away with this.

I thought I was paying a one-time charge of $19.95 to get background info on a person. Instead I subscribed to an identity protection package that I did not want or need! This site is very deceiving, but the worst thing is, they will NOT refund any of the money for your monthly "subscription" to something you don't even know about. Don't ever give your credit card number to Intelius!
Somehow my 85-year-old mother with dementia got signed up for this service. I am her legal power of attorney. I called to cancel this service. I could not understand the customer service rep. Maybe in India?! I really don't know. All I know is that he was rude, unsympathetic to my situation and wanted a written letter with a copy of the P. O. A. REALLY! Can you make my already complicated life any worse?! Don't use this company, they don't care!
I purchased an unlimited profile reports package from Intelius for $26.50 a month, along with two additional side packages for unlimited email and phone reports for $5.32 each. Three months in I'm getting NSF and overdraft fees charged to my account. They billed for what I purchased, and additionally three separate charges of $26.50 for State sales tax, city sales tax, and county sales tax. According to their terms of service they bill taxes according to the location you reside in. In Texas that's no more than 8.25 %. 6.25% for state, and city and county the remainder up to 8.25%. So I got 4 charges of $26.5, plus my two ad ons.

I needed to use your service for a onetime fee of 4 dollars, a couple of days later you all tried to bill my bank card for 37 dollars, which was declined. I feel this was inappropriate as I never signed up to have membership, actually this feels like a dishonest business practice and I am very displeased. I have blocked any future charges from Intellius with my bank. Thanks for trying to rip me off...

After reading glowing reviews (?) I decided to try the service (to find out more) which was discounted from the normal $49 to $39 only to find out that once you give credit card info, you have signed up for a monthly account which costs an additional $7.95 to cancel. Not happy, especially since the report had nothing more than what I had found already thru the free sites. I found out nothing more after paying for the service. Yes, I'm a sucker, less the $50.

I needed to locate an old friend and could not find them on social media. I was referred by someone to use Intelius to begin a search, and I found it to be very useful, I was successful to find who I was looking for, thank you. In addition to that search, I also searched myself and was impressed, if not taken aback, to see what information there was about me in this database. It has a lot of good information to explore, if you need it, may incur an additional charge where necessary, but in the end it could be worth it if you have no other associates or options from which to get your information. Will use again in the future.

I was trying to find a distant relative. My husband put his card number into the billing information. They were only supposed to take 95 cents. They took ALL the money he had to his name. On top of that, the phone number they gave me didnt even work. Please don't trust this site.
