Non delivery of groceries
December 24, 2018

Instacart charged me for groceries they did not deliver. I had to go to, Publix with my boyfriend and purchase the coffee I ordered the following day. Not very pleased with them.

Pay your drivers

This company sucks since the new pay scale. Its not fair. Please go back to the old way, people were more happy. Fix this now or you probably won't be a company for long people are out rated.

#Viewer #ALERT #BEWARE OF #INSTACART AND THE DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES THEY PROVIDE. They will bill you prior to your free membership trial expiration date and then when you call them they will put you on hold for over an hour and hang up on you!

WE AT SOCALTELEVISION DO NOT RECOMMEND INSTACART SERVICE! This apparently is there ongoing practice as one of our loyal viewers advised us of this issue and it happened to us also when we looked into it. The email we were sent by INSTACART plainly described that we would be billed on December 18,2019, however we were build on December 17,2018 at 1 a.m. in the morning!

We will be filing a claim with the BBB, reversing the fraudulent charge through our bank, and CANNOT IN GOOD FAITH RECOMMEND INSTACART SERVICES TO ANY OF OUR VIEWERS!

Do NOT fall prey to INSTACART fraudulent and deceptive business practices!

Disgusting.

I wish I never gave them my money. The amount of work I had to go through, even after submitting my order, was more than just going to the store. I emailed them and the email I got back had serious grammatical errors. The words didn't fit together, it was like the person didn't know English at all.

I made the HUGE mistake to try this company. The weather was bad, so I took the chance to do a home delivery for a few things. I ordered 25 gallons of distilled water, received 18, I ordered two bottles of Old Vine Zinfandel (my store always has it), they replace with another brand, and two bottles of Bogle Chardonnay (they didn't have it), so replace with another brand. A couple more things. They charged me for 5 bottles of wine, received 4. Charged me for 25 gallons of water, received 18. I tipped the driver $10 and in addition they charged me their tip. My bill was $85.00, total ripoff. I went into the store to complain and found they do not represent the store, they are their own company, so run up the charges on items and do not give you a store receipt! BUYER BEWARE! Even the employees of this company give it terrible reviews. Save your money and do your "OWN" shopping. This company is out to rip you off!

Worst Customer Service

Told I would be on hold for 3 minutes and I am now at the 50 minute mark or having to listen to the most annoying keyboard I have ever heard.

The on-boarding of their site is not clear and almost ensures you sign up for the express membership without really knowing what the other options are. It is sad that companies still practice automatic renewals as well.

Terrible experience as they charge me the annual fee without letting me know. After contacting to the "customer service", I was told I started a free trail myself, which is why they charged me after.

The funny part is I was out of country for that period. When I asked for proof of my own actions, they stop replying to my email.

After a few day, they sent a quick note saying they will refund.

Overall, this is not the right way to treat ur custom tee and do business.

Fustrating

Have been waiting 4 months for backround check to pass to be able to be a shopper. Have called support 3 times and they have no idea why it wont work since I have a clean record. From what ive seen dont waist your time.

Under minded, deceiving company. NO FORM OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I placed an order for an item I have been keeping an eye out for thinking it was COSTCO! Instacart made me think it was COSTCO when I placed the order. One of the items (a sealed non-parishable product x3 purchased) was found to be spoiled. I was not able to return to COSTCO. They had no record of my purchase so I was not even eligible to receive year-end points, They told me they are not affliliated with Instacart and therefore could not return items INSTACART purchased from them. They suggested to call Instacart. What a joke Instacart is. Instacart refused to take the item back, give a credit, or work with me in any way. I spoke with 3 people at Instacart and basically they said 'too bad'. They told me over the phone I had 7 days to make a return. This was never disclosed when I ordered my items. Never disclosed when I signed for Instacart (thinking it was COSTCO). Just because they have people shopping for you doesn't mean these people have good common sense to see if an item is spoiled, broken, or otherwise. I fail to see any benefit of this company. I feel they are advertising under false pretenses.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR INSTACART-IT'S A RIP OFF!

STAY AWAY

The charged my card $149 for subscription services I did not ask for! They sent me an email telling me that I will be charged in 14 days, I missed it (I thought this was a promotion email) and now they refuse to pay me back. This company is a scam.

Keep your money

I used Instacart once to send groceries to a friend in crisis. Evidently, that involved a trial membership costing $150. I didn't realize that until a month later and IC wouldn't refund my money. So, think twice before you use a business that will sneakily charge you $150 for a service you use once and then won't refund your money.
Also, if you're thinking of driving for them, they are notoriously difficult for their drivers to work with as well.
Bad news all around.

Buyer Beware

Food selection and delivery were adequate. Then the problems began. When you purchase items you're automatically signed up for a 1 year membership - cost $99. We cancelled membership immediately with some difficulty on the website. Then after 2 weeks, we were notified of the $99 charge by email. It was impossible to cancel on their website using an iphone. We called the credit card company to cancel payment, but were told they weren't able because charges were pending. Finally was able to cancel on the website using a computer. We'll check with a credit card company in a week to make sure the charge was reversed. I'm sure many would just give up with all the hassle involved. Don't get started. Just avoid the hassle.

On one occasion, my Instacart shopper picked terrible replacements without contacting me. I told them that, and told them that my account settings are set to receive texts, and asked them why he didn't contact me. They told me that if my settings are set to receive texts, the shopper will contact me. How stupid of an answer is that?

I asked them why a certain page on my Account reads "Contact Preference: No Preference" when I set it to contact me. They said that wherever I heard that, it's a mis-communication. How stupid of an answer is that one, too?

I had other questions that weren't answered, but responded to with bullsh*t rhetoric that completely avoided the issue. This happened in an exchange of 6 - count 'em, 6 - emails. These people clearly do not understand plain English, no matter how clearly or articulately it is written. I then requested a supervisor to answer my questions since I could not get an answer out of their regular reps. I did this 3 times. There was no response.

Awful.

So disappointing!

I could not be more disappointed with Instacart. I was so excited to use it for my shopping and picked out all of my grocery items and a delivery window. My delivery window was scheduled for 5-7pm. Starting at 5pm I got updates with what my shopper was subbing out (mostly fine, although subbing lettuce for brussels sprouts is ridiculous and wasn't approved by me). At 7 I got a text that my delivery was running late and would be delivered between 7:15-7:45. I was annoyed, but it happens. By 9pm I still had no groceries, so I called them and the person on the line said "Hmm, that's weird, why is it taking them so long?" After numerous holds he said that he can't figure out what happened and would reschedule my delivery. I told him that I needed the groceries for the next morning to make lunches and he said he was sorry. He then offered me a $5 credit. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he responded that I can't just speak with someone, they would need to call me back. After many more times being put on hold, a supervisor got on the phone, again offered to reschedule and said she would give me a $25 credit. She said there was no way I would get the groceries that night and was nothing she could do to raise the credit amount. This totally ruined my plans for today and left me with no food. Horrible customer service, horrible way to try to make the situation better, I will never use them again. Stay away! What a disappointment.

A total disaster

A total disaster. I've been using it for a year, at the beginning delivery was OK now they deliver in 4+ hours, they assign the drivers several deliveries at once so the food is touring the city for hours and you waiting in your house with no other option but cancel order, totally outrageous. We're canceling our membership

BJ shopping and delivery

I ordered some stuff from bjs and they where offering free 2 hour delivery. Well it never showed up and when I called BJs they did not no what I was talking about. They finely told me it was Instacart and I called and they told me they had delivered it to the wrong address
And they could redelivered it the next day. I told them to refund my money and I would get it my self

HORRIBLE

I placed an order and was to have delivery from 6-7 pm. got a message that it would be late 715-745 then heard nothing again. I called them and after 20 mins on hold with a supervisor my order was never picked up and now the order can not be delivered. This is now 9 pm. they never called or reached out to me will never use them again

They never delivered!

I was stood up after placing a $220 order two days prior to delivery date. I got confirmation and a reminder the next day about delivery. Then I got a second reminder about delivery the next day. I was looking forward to getting all this delivered for me and my mother, both disabled.

The delivery day arrives and they are 1 ½ hours late. I call Instacart and they said I'm not even in their system! I explain the emails I'd received and the representative finally found it. He said my order was not even pulled yet and they could not deliver it that day. I was very upset and asked for the manager who authorized a $5 credit or cancellation. I was disgusted with their offer and rescheduled delivery for two days later. After I hung up, I got angrier and angrier. When I received a survey in my email, i told them again about how bad their service was and got a response again asking if I wanted $5 or cancellation of order. I asked them to cancel. Then I get an email saying they can't find any order for me and that I should cancel it on line. What a disaster of a company!

I called Acme and reported them to the manager and he said they planned to start delivering their own groceries soon. He also said he would be calling their regional manager to report this issue and was thankful I called.

I'll never use Instacart again.

BEWARE!

I ordered $403.00 worth of groceries from Mariano's. They put on hold on the funds on my debit card of $470 ($67.00 more than I spent). Then they charged another $470.00 on my account, taking a total of $940.00 dollars for a purchase of $403.00. After over an hour on the phone with them, they basically told me it would take 3 to 4 days to "fall off", and they couldn't do anything about it any sooner. I used them every week, but I won't be using them again
