Don't ever book with this outfit! They booked my 87 year old mother, in a wheel chair, on a flight from Jacksonville to Sacramento and back over Phoenix for $728, with a five hour flight on the last leg from Sacramento to Phoenix all the way over Los Angeles! By the time she sent me the details and tried to cancel it or at least change the last leg of the flight they wanted $200 extra to make the change. Outrageous!
I purchased a round trip ticket but I needed to cancel or change my flight, the customer service said the number is wrong - THIS IS WHAT IS ON THEIR WEBSITE *******165 but I was informed it is cheapoair. Insanelycheapflights. Has no contact number and cannot get any help with long waiting on the the line. Cost me much on the phone. This is a bogus site with no customer service. I have to go to the airport make to changes and additional payments. Their insurance is not reliable and do not believe you can claim anything FROM TRIPMATE.
Google them and see for yourself *******165they are using a number of a different website. Confirmation no *******xx.
Emails have been sent to them requesting a clarification of a contact phone number - no reply. Imagine relying in them if you were stuck overseas in trouble!
I placed order with the wrong dates and have to been on call first time for 20mins and the call gets disconnected after getting connected to agent and then made another call and wait for 30mins to cancel the ticket, The agent is from India. He was courteous and did the cancellation right away as I called them within 4 hrs of my booking. Prices were a bit cheap but not worth the wait time to cancel.
I took a lot of international tickets throught Insanely cheap. I fully recommend it. In fact it is the only search engine I use for flights.
I don't know how it happened but a middle initial was added to the name on the ticket and after it processed, I realized it and proceeded to contact them. It took over 5 min for me to be connected to a rep. The first representative wanted to charge me $20 as an extra fee to change the name of the ticket I JUST booked with them. I refused and asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me he will transfer me go another team, I agreed and was put on hold for another 5 min or so. When I explained the issue to the rep, she went through the same process while saying passively, "I don't 'think's name changes are allowed". I personally think he transferred me to someone next to him or something because she proceed to tell me the nee fee is $49. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me the wait will be long, I told her I still want to be connected to her supervisor and she put me on hold for 5 minutes then came back on the call to tell me that her supervisors are busy. She said the best she can do is charge me $10 for the name change fee. I think this is absolutely absurd!
Upped the price at checkout and the phone operator played stupid. Went to go check the exact same ticket again from a different browser and new IP and it was the original lower price.
These guys are full of it.
This is a buyer beware situation. They have terrible customer service and their cancellation policy. If they had better customer service, we could have probably worked out the issue better, but they were rude and unwilling to assist. If I had read these reviews first, I could have saved myself a lot of effort and stress
I spoke to a customer service representative who inform me in the same conversation that it would be a $75 fee but two minutes later it turned into a $50 fee then it turned into a $200 fee for the airline save your effing money
I booked a flight for my husband to fly out for work. His first flight was fine, got to his connecting air port and they said they are over booked and he didn't have a seat. Why would I book a flight with a website if I thought he only had a chance to make it to his destination.
Usually you can pay to pick your seat, I didn't know I had to pick a seat for each flight or not have a seat at all.
Now he is stuck in an airport for who knows how long.
Save your sanity by not booking with this company. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought the ticket.
On 21 April I was quoted a price which I agreed too. On the 25 April they took $54.00 more that they quoted me. It seems that other people are having problems with this company.
After reviewing the many messages on this site, more than myself are having problems with this company. And my TD credit card company will not help in in this matter. Credit card companies are getting is bad. So keep away from TD Bank
I clicked on a Nov 20 flight date and Nov 27 showed up. I corrected it and went ahead with my booking. When I got confirmation, it was for Nov 27! I immediately called in to change the booking. Guess what there is no free 24 hour cancellation! The rep spoke very poor English and told me that I had made a mistake and that we both knew what I did. They were going to charge me more than double to make the change. I was transferred to someone else who said that they would cancel my flight for a charge of $50. US for each of the 2 tickets = $100! When I said that this was unacceptable they offered to make it $25 US cancellation per ticket. Im now calling my credit card card company MBNA to see if theyll help me with these charges. From reading other reviews, this doesnt sound like Ill be successful getting help from them. The correct title of this website is INSANE! Go anywhere else! Do not use this company!
Received notice there had been change of schedule and could I confirm which I did, heard nothing back contacted them 5 times, totally useless
I haven't flown yet but reading the reviews freaked me out. So I thought I had better check with the airline directly to see if my tickets were booked and paid for and I can report that that everything is A OK. On the tickets from ICF (Insanely Cheap Flights) it said I only had carry on luggage but when I called the airline they said I was booked with check in luggage for each passenger (Myself and 3 children) and if this all runs smoothly in December I will be back to let you all know. But so far so good.
Be aware, you are going to pay more than it is advertised and they are going to make it look that it was your mistake! My booking went from $709 to $792. USD
For what I have read in the comments it seems that it is common practice to "mysteriously" have mistakes after booking.
In my case, my husband's last name appeared with my last name. I ALWAYS check and doable check every detail of our booking before submitting payment so I was VERY SURPRISED when I received the email confirmation with my husband's last name wrong.
I called right away and was told that it couldn't be corrected but that they will charge an extra fee because they have to cancel his ticket and re-book it. My other option was to cancel both reservations for a full refund WITH A CHARGE FEE for doing so,
It was totally pointless to talk to this person. He was rude and only kept saying that I needed to rush on my decision because the cost of the flight was going up and they will charge me with the new price.
At the end I have no choice and had to agree and pay the $83 extra fee for doing the correction. I have proof of these charges on emails.
We just came back from our trip. We did not have any issues with the flights but I will never ever consider booking again through InsanelyCheapFlight and I will do all possible to make people aware of their bad practices.
We are frequent travelers and always book online choosing of course the best value. I have used CheapOnAir, Expedia, Google Flights, and Hooper without any issues. I regret I did not use them this time. It cost me USD 83 but Lesson learned.
I am not a person who would write negative reviews as I am an easy going flyer but this time I really got pissed off and need to share.
We booked the flight in March, 2017 for today July 16th to fly from Edmonton in Alberta to Zagreb in Croatia. We came to the airport and after one hour of trying to check us in we found out that the flight got cancelled. Nobody notified us! We had to return home and then the conversations started with the agency. Long story short they rescheduled us for the next day flight without any compensation and adding one more layoff in our flight. We lost money for the cab to the airport and back, another ticket that we were supposed catch from Zagreb and the night in the hotel that we were supposed check in tomorrow.
I am not sure how this company operates as this was the first and definitely the last time that I booked with them, but I believe that if situations like this happen (the major change in your flight) the passenger should be compensated at least for the inconvenience experienced.
Beware you are paying for Standby
"A rep with Insanely Cheap Flights told me we had confirmed seats for all 4 of our flights. They gave me our seat information on the phone and via email. My husband and I arrived at the airport to find out we only had one seat booked for all 4 flights. We were informed that we never had seats to begin with. We were able to fly out to our connecting destination but from there, the airlines did not have seats for us. We were stuck at the airport for 7 hours. We were lucky to get on the evening flight, but every flight after that, my husband and I were not able to sit together. From what I understand, if you want to make sure you have seats, pay the higher price. I feel this small discount rate, is more of a standby rate. We also found out from an American Airline employee, they overbook most of their flights. The day American Airlines would not allow us on the flight, was the same day, they sold an extra 8 seats. Sadly, eight of us were told that we are not going on our vacation at that time. Supposedly, this is very common with this airline. "
Have had a good experience using them since sept. 2014 till now. Cheap flights and lots to choose from..
Bad service. I called numerous times and got reps in India. Three different reps gave me three different answers. In the end TRAVEL ONE, DBA INSANLY CHEAP FLIGHTS, DBA CHEAP FLIGHTS... ripped me off. It was impossible to deal with these people. I even wrote to the CEO, Steve Oliverez but I got even worse treatment by his rep Latasia. In order to add 3 letters to my first, nick name (to reflect the first name on my pasaport) her suggestion was to buy a new ticket which would cost me more than 100% of the ticket I paid in full, and wait for refund (not sure how much). In the end I cancelled the ticket, and booked a new one through a reputable agent, with the nearly the same price as the original ticket. Travel One reps quoted me three different prices for the cancellation. Last rep told me that I would get refund for my ticket, less $250 (supposedly goes to the carrier), and that it would take 3 billing cycles to get my refund. This rep also told me that I needed to give him the authorization to charge $200 on my credit card, as a cancellation fee for Travel One, otherwise the refund will not be processed. When I said I would report such practice, he said he would make an exception and charge me only $50. I agreed, and my credit card was charged with $50 immediately. I have not yet received my refund. I have found out there are numerous law suits against this company.
Answer: No travel protection. You most likely will receive travel protection if you book directly from an airline. This 50 word post is bull shit. Let's just get to the point.
