Purchased a round trip ticket because I was able to...
June 24, 2013

Purchased a round trip ticket because I was able to find one that had good enough dates and times for my departure time as well as return times. After I get to my destination and I did enjoy my trip, I went to check in 24 hours prior to my return trip, my total return trip was scheduled to be 4 hours and 30 minutes, when I found that my return departure time had move up 9 hours. That in it self was crazy since I lost half a day off my vacation, but the kicker was that the only thing that changed was the first leg of my trip. My layover went from 1 hour to 9 hours and 45 minutes.

I called Insanely "Cheap" Flights and talked to some guy that spoke very poor English in India. When I asked what his name was he told me "uhhh Morgan". When explaining what the issue was, he said United cancelled the flight and they are only flying one flight out of this busy airport this day. I asked if there was an earlier connecting flight and was advised they were all already over booked and I would have to just wait for the scheduled second flight. I asked to speak to his supervisor and me told me there are no supervisors around to help. I had to keep asking to be put on hold until he found a supervisor I can speak with to resolve the layover issue. After a few minutes of trying to convince me that I just had to go with the 9 hour and 45 minute layover, and me telling him that he is crazy, he did say hold on and he would transfer me to a supervisor. A few minutes later a little better English speaking guy from India got on the phone and said his name was "Matt" and after explaining the issue again, he did agree that, that was not a reasonable layover time and said he will see what he could do. After all said and done, and an hour later, I was only able to reduce the layover time to 6 hours. After reading the policy terms of the airline, they can not change flight times of what you purchased prior to 7 days of your flight or they will compensate you for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, dealing with "INSANELY"CheapFlights, it appears that you are SOL, and are at them changing your flights to whatever they desire. I will not use them again and after seeing that using there service, I only saved 30 to 40 dollars off what a ticket through the airline would have been. The lost day of vacation I incurred, the stress, and the poor service with the extended layover I had to deal with, was worth a lot more than the 30 to 40 dollars I saved on this ticket. You have been warned, I would have much rather wrote a review saying the service was 5 stars, but with what I had to deal with, I think its even worse than the Very Poor rating I could give.
