I was very nervous sending 30 years of memories through the mail! They handled everything with care. From the safe box they send you to place them, contacting you upon receiving and updating you on the process kept my mind at ease. They took special care of tapes that were very old and were able to still make it work. My family is so happy to have these videos available on the app to watch whenever they please. It was a wonderful Christmas present for my mom!
I had 2 VHS tapes converted and the entire process from delays in sending my iMemories box to me (which I later learned you really don't need) to me downloading the conversions was almost 5 months! Even after I rec'd the shipping box, I had second thoughts about even sending my tapes in. I wish I would have listened to myself and not wasted another $16 for really poor quality VHS to digital conversions. My take-away is to try another service first.
My memories were converted into poor quality digital files PLUS they are impossible to download. Total waste of money.

I checked each item I sent them and majority were clear and had good sound. Majority on IMemories are blurred to different degrees, some had stripes (horizontal or veritical) on some tapes that were not there before, a group of videos were now in black and white, sound quality is poor & it sounds as if the sound of the machine they ran through them was picked up so the original sound is more background. Most cannot be used as planned for a memorial for my husband and celebration with family. After spending hundreds of dollars, I am heartsick and disappointed in the product. I wish I had never sent them anything.
Tip for consumers:
I would suggest using another service. This was a lost of memories along with hundred of dollars.

The quality of the finished product, is greatly inferior to the product that was submitted. Obviously I memories service doesn't have the ability to enhance in the least, the product that they provide, like making sure that the tapes are fully rewound properly, before copying them. Speaking of which, I haven't received my original slides, movies and VCR tapes back yet. While you collected and cashed my payment the moment you received it nearly a month ago. I need my Items back ASAP, so I can look elsewhere and hopefully locate someone who can do superior work than I just experienced.

My original videos on Mini DV were sharp and clear. The digital conversions are very grainy - not happy at all with the quality. They also charged me for items they couldn't convert due to copyright (old VHS tapes). Then there is the bait and switch where they suddenly want to charge a fee to keep access to the cloud storage. So I downloaded all my videos to my computer and I'm done with iMemories forever. Do not recommend.

I initially had a positive experience with imemories, my tapes were mailed to them and the first video uploaded without an issue. However, I then discovered five videos in my albums that did not belong to me. Immediately, I contacted customer service via email, but received no response. After four days of waiting, I called customer service, only to be told that I needed to wait for a very thorough review and that they meticulously care for and organize the videos. They claimed that this is most often a case of the client having accidentally sent in someone else's videos. The wait resumed. Despite waiting for a week with no communication, I reached out again via email, only to be informed that I needed to mail back the items for a review. The lack of transparency was alarming; I was never notified that my tapes were being returned and had not received them until 24 hours later. Now, nearly four weeks later, I'm being asked to return my videos for review, while the unauthorized videos remain in my album. This blatant disregard for privacy rights and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. I no longer trust imemories with something as valuable as my personal videos and would caution others against using their services.
Could you imagine someone you have never met watching videos of your family?

When we do the digital conversion, we process every videotape indivdually. The chances of there being video(s) uploaded to your account that is not from the tapes that we received would be very rare. Our team did receive your email and we submitted the request to check the tapes that you did not recognize. There was however an error on our end and your tapes were shipped back to you before the review could be completed. This is not the experience we want our customers to have. We did email you as soon as the error was discovered, that you could send the tapes back at no charge. We would review and return them (no charge) to make sure the videos online match what is on the tapes that you sent in. I understand you are relutant to send the tapes back to iMemories. Please know that your content's integrity and safety is our priority.

7 seconds converted of a half hour tape. Then 2 more denied due to "copyright." Yeah. It's MY COPYRIGHT! Tapes need to be sent back. A totally amateur experience by people who are not checking (or don't care about) the DETAILS.

I was very disappointed to view my movies (for which I spent $750 to have digitized by IMemories). Most were out of focus and several slipped in the frame. Very poor quality control.
When I contacted the company, they had already sent them back so I have to resend them with specifics on what went wrong. We will see if they fix it.
I chose IMemories because I thought they had advanced machinery to prevent this, so I picked them over my local place. I'm very sorry I did.
I sent two VHS tapes and thought I would be getting a DVD of each of them returned to me. One of the tapes was recorded from a TV show so they said they could not reproduce it. They did refund my money, but I had to pay for the shipping. They should have told me upfront that they could not reproduce something recorded from TV. Re the other tape, I did not get a DVD. I got something sent to my computer. It would expire after 30 days unless I joined some type of cloudfire service. It was of no use to me. I will never use them again.
If I would have read these comment prior to ordering, I would have never chosen this company to transfer my analog to digital vcr tapes. The quality was so poor that I could not even make out what I was looking at. It appears they stick your tape into a machine, walk away and box it when it is finished. Any profession would at least review a few minutes of their results and figure out somethin is wrong here. They are the worst. Buyer beware.

I have not received my originals. IMemories move at their pace. Pandemic provides them complete cover for not responding to customer requirements.

I assumed my charges would be based on available data only but that was not the case/ you are charged whether an item is processed or not. I've already recommended that my family and friends find local processing centers because this services is extremely costly. However, the customer service representatives were very helpful and courteous. Learned Experience.

They behave as if they have no experience, My order of 4 months ago is still not right. They try hard, but continue to get it wrong. Never again!
I never dreamed I would be spending a total of $56.67 (WITH a 25% discount) for two very short VHS tape conversions. First they charge you $16.04 for a box to ship the tapes to them in. Then they charge you $14 to return those tape back to you, which is non-negotiable. I did not want the tapes returned. They will be tossed into the land fill when they arrive but you have to pay for their return whether you want them or not. I'm sick. I wish I had done more research on other companies before using iMemories. Just be aware of the sneaky underhanded charges.
Easy to send videos, sign up receive back. I am very displeased because it was never disclosed that there is a monthly fee to store the videos on some cloud. I've gone back thru all e-mails and can find no mention of this. I feel I've wasted my money as I will not pay a monthly fee just to store videos for future watching.

My videos were almost unwatchable they were so degraded - I don't know why they would all be like that. Also, their website is TRASH and I can't even get into it half of the time! I can't access my stupid videos that I paid WAY TOO MUCH FOR. Absolute garbage service. Hate it. Regret my life choices that led me to this place.

The work was done. My last step was To find someone so imemories who I could pay in cash to consolidate the videos into one continuos video. I also want background music applied to all videos. I think this was a simple, straightforward request. I got stiff armed by the person I spoke with. Disappointing!

Great experience! My siblings and I enjoyed watching the home movies my dad filmed when we were youngsters! Good quality too.
Uptodate, 8/12/23, I am disastisfied with imemories, so far it has costed me over $400 and I haven't received anything. Let the buyer beware if you contract imemories to send you digital info. I'm told all is on the clouds, I want results at my home. I was told on 8/11/23, I would receive an E-mail indicating which tapes to return for further work to be done on them, I have not received nothing promised.

Too expensive for what you get. I sent in 5 video tapes, only one was converted because they said the others had copyright issues. Fine, but they didn't even explain that that, they just sent them back with no explanation. I only found out because I inquired and they wanted to charge me for all 5.
Even though in hindsight it is my fault I did not realize I only had 30 days to access the photos and videos. I only ended up downloading a small set of the pictures, and that seems to mean I no longer have access to the rest. I realize when you sent me the email you indicated I had a free trial to access the pictures. That was never indicated upfront when I sent the order in originally, or at least I never saw it. I just wasted a lot of money for no good reason. I sent an email asking if there was anything I could do to still access the pictures, and videos but did not get a response. Never again!

My review of you would be 0 stars. IMemories marketing is confusing and deceptive. I thought I had paid for a vhs digital transfer when I had only paid for shipping. The company harassed me about copying my tape even though I sent a copyright release. When I finally was able to download my digital file I found the quality to be poor and low resolution. My recommendation, DO NOT USE!
There was no sound on one of videos. You can correct it even now for me, would be good

Very slow with not so great quality and organization. Received somebody else's photos and videos as well. Called over 2 weeks ago and they still haven't followed up with my concerns. In addition, it took 2 months for my videos to all be uploaded. Now I have to pay $50 a year for their service on top of the $300 I already paid... wasn't aware of the yearly or monthly charge. Very disappointing experience.
