Since it was a gift membership for a month I said whatever... funny how before you pay you get flirt after flirt and messages you cannot read until you pay. I got a message from a "woman" who's profile said she was in my area... after a little back and forth she asked me to join her on a chat site... after about 6 minutes I concluded it was a guy and he/she was in Ghana and started asking me for money LMAO. And another time I had one who said she was 20 miles away... turns out they were in the UK. I have some excellent facial recognition software, and can say 98% for the women on that site have no idea they are on that site... their pics have been stolen and added to this "turnkey" business
I posted an ad on craigs list looking for friendship and stuff. I got a response from them saying that they want me to join this site in order to get their contact information. I went on and i started to get added as favorites and girls from all around was interested in me. But that was a lie and of all i responded back to, i got no answer or if i did get an answer, it was a general one line question, " i like fast cars, do you have a fast car?" things like that. Or "i'm horny and free tonite!" but they do not provide any way to contact them except thru the site, and then nothing... this site is a scam, do not subscribe to it!
The profiles contain photos that are several years old in many cases and responses are never direct and logical. I get many responses that state "It's great to hear from you" from people that I never contacted. It's a total scam.
This is one of the sites I have used in the past and honestly: I liked it! Since I discovered Vanessa69.com I don't use it anymore but back in the days it was one of the better sites. I totally disagree with most guys claiming that this site is not legit!
After 2 months and many "Hookups" I had yet to acutally to message an actual person. The responses were senseless as to what I had written. It is an out and out fraud. The profiles of young girls are actually posted by a man or men. You can see this by watching the profiles viewed on your page. If you place them on your ignore list (mine was 8 pages long) the outline was of a male. Kind of disturbing if your are hoping to chat with a female. The only way to shut this site down is to stop going to it.
It gets worse - I had an email from them "because an iHookup account with the username x was created on 2012-06-07 14:54:41 from IP address
Checked for a few weeks, not one real woman on there, maybe far off in the past they had real woman on there. Woman are now gone so not wanting to give up on the site they I guess decided to scam people, by having the thing over run with bots. It's full of bots with fake pics, and really funny pre-scripted emails and requests for access to pics. It's really funny to see when you are on there within seconds the bot fav's you, then a split second later asks for access to pics, then sends an email, all within seconds LOL. I know women can be fast with computers, but not that fast LOL
This site should have been shut down, sell the URL to someone that at least will try to run an honest website, or just use the URL to direct to a legit site.
They use fake profiles and you don't find out until you sign up. Want proof... here is what they write me:
These profiles are used to enhance the experience of online companionship and overall entertainment. Sweethaarts are also used to demonstrate the features and communication tools of the site to our members.
We are sorry to hear that to date you are not satisfied with the service.
We are willing to assist you and provide you with suggestions if you require help with any of our site features. However as per our terms and conditions we do not offer refunds and therefore are unable to accommodate your request. For further information please review our terms and conditions.
So if you are looking to pay for this site... You are screwed!
I tried the 3 month membership. I made very sure that there were no reoccurring renewal fees. I searched high and low and checked and unchecked all the proper boxes. Low and behold my credit card has been billed again! My credit card company is in the process of reversing the charges as I write this.
Most of the messages I did receive were of the cookie cutter variety. Most of the profiles seemed fake as well.
DO NOT use ihookup.com it is the biggest scam
This site is a total scam, the women are not real, the photos are old and grainy and not one women is real, nor ready to hook up with you. In addition the webmasters create activity to look like the site is real. Also, many 'cam' girl have found out about this site and create profiles that direct you to mail accounts. The kicker is the billing is done by a third party, epoch, so getting money back, or credits is tough. The owners are good at making it look legit, getting you to believe real woman do exist and creating just enough interest / traffic in you to keep you hooked. My suggestion is STAY AWAY. TOTAL RIPOFF!
The site is full of fake girls that are most probs men working for ihookup they send you messages saying thanks for your message i would like to chat with you. But i didnt even send them a message to start with and if i message any of the back i never got a reply im happy i only 1st tried the 2day trial i would of been pissed off if i had paid for the full year and for the 2days i tried it for i never got 1 message back even when i got a flirt off someone they still didnt message back i may as well just send email's to myself the site need closing down i told the ihookup team what i thought about the fake profiles and said they will look into it but they won't do anything because its them that do the fake profiles with pics of very beautiful ladies just so they get guys to sign up and rob them of their money why is this site legal? Its one big con
Ive definitely used worse, not sure why so many people are dissing the site. I dont even care if Im not getting screwed every week, I get a kick out of the chats with chicks and the odd bit of webcam fun. Its something to do and it sometimes leads to a happy ending (literally LOL!), especially if you use it with another site (Id definitely recommend HookupHangout.com as a good option). So im fine with the 20 bucks a month or whatever it is, no way is it a waste of money if you keep your expectations realistic and its not like it doesnt work at all because it does just not as much as us randy lot would like it too!

On for 2 months... 600+ texts received... here are some issues:
1. Just try and cancel/delete your account via the web site... can't; you must send a threatening message to them to get anywhere
2. My Credit card was charged twice by 'epoch' apparently not web sites issues as its a 3rd party... even though they support a 'billing' drop down box
3. Taiwan invasion every night around 7pm... not members so how do they get onto this site... by 9am next morning most are removed but come back again... not a secure site
4. I live North of Toronto... set up ID twice by mistake... same 'hits' from same members immediately... how is that possible
5. Received 600+ texts and answered most... not one kept that text going... sometimes a new one but usually no reply... how is that possible?
6. text headlines 'really like black men'... I'm white and my photo shows it clearly in several pics. Also requests for my 'key' (private photos) which had been granted previously... happened over 20 times... means an ADMIN person is randomly sending these
7. Texts come within a few minutes of logging on... after 10 minutes you'll not get many if any
8. Texts are generated by city... first I got Toronto, then Hamilton, Kingston, Kitchener... then it was state by state... trying to extend my membership... once I got a text from say Hamilton I wouldn't get any from Toronto... consistent this way... even though I sent message to Toronto
9. I've been on several sites but this one is the worst by far
I know I dont have to pay to use this site as a woman but still im gonna anyway. There are like way too many total douches on this site. One guy yesterday was all nice at first and we were sending a few messages back and forth but then he started talking about my feet and asking all these super creepy questions. I started to get a little mad but he wouldnt stop with the messages so I just blocked his $#*!. I dont know if its just coincidence or whatever but the other site I use to meet guys (Hookuphangout.com, its also free which is a real plus) might not be perfect but it doesnt seem to have as many weirdos! Its not just me either, my friend Britney says exactly the same thing. They totally need to cut out the douchebags and save us normal girls a lot of time and blocking!
Ihookup is IMO about 90% a scam but there are some actual people on their too. Now, no, they are unlikely to be the hot babes that are on the site. The hot babes are in two categories: 1) shills to gin up interest usually with inane comments and 2) working girls there for pay for profit. You can tell the latter because they claim that you cannot correspond with them on the IHOOKUP site but rather you need to contact them through another number (usually Yahoo). Messages from working girls also don't go to your regular email account (the others do). Aparently IHOOKUP doesn't want to leave any trair implicating them with solicitation.
So why did I give it a 2? Simple, look at it as a video game and not truly a method to hook up in reality and it can be entertaining. For example if you get someones key to their pictures, you sometimes get some great professional level porn of a very beautiful lady. Just don't take the site too serious.
I had gotten rerouted to this page when opening up an email, started with entering my email but stopped when it asked interests. Closed the page out and statred FBing. But the site had selected interests for me (Prob popular ones). And then i statrted getting massive amounts of email leading to the cc entering screen. Just so the emails could be viewed. The whole site is geared in a way to get you to enter your payment info before letting you see how fake it really is. I truly feel for the guys that get taken by this $#*!... and it is $#*!...
Received spoofed spam emails that are telling me I signed up from I. P. address X. Xx. X. xx when the one they listed traces back to my OLD HOUSE at my home town where there's NO INTERNET ANYMORE.
Obviously something fishy and I've searched for more of their bull$#*! spam and found the same rthing, menagelite******* (whatever kind of username that is...) signed up form X. Xx. Xx. X!
I agree with most here that the gals on this site are for the most part not real. However I've had some success in dealing with real ones. Key's for me are:
1. Must have written something in their profile
2. Have a "private album" on the site
3. Send you a key to that album
4. Must have their "looking for" page match your profile or at least be somewhat close.
Met a few girls from this site but I'd say the odds are similar to any bar you'd go to. Need to talk to 100 hot girls to get 10 interested and may score 1. So all in all I'd say if you're coming to this site to "score easily" you will be sorely disappointed, but you may find 1 or 2 or maybe 3 hookups and if that is worth your dough then go for it. Otherwise save your money. Also DO NOT PAY FOR THIS SITE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. ONLY USE PREPAID CARDS to avoid "automatic" renewals.
I agree with some other guys, this site does not look like a SCAM to me! I was not lucky on iHookup and I also prefer Vanessa69 (but also AFF worked for me in the past). But just because it did not work out for me does not mean that it is a scam.
Answer: My guess is that they are fishing for your email so they can send you spam. But maybe they are real, genuine people, though no one seems to be real.
Answer: I don't know, but I wouldn't waste my time.
Answer: adultfriendfinder.com has worked for me. Although they do have a free membership it is very limited on what you can do. You do have access to the instant messenger and are allowed 5 messages a day and you can goto members that are streaming video for free and possibly chat with them online the 5 messages applies to this area as well. They do allow you to use a gift card to pay for membership, if you need to be discrete about being a member. I think the lowest amount they accept for gift card payment is 10.00 and that would get you 9 days of gold membership. Basically 1 day less than the dollar amount used. But i have not found anything better out there that is free.
ihookup has a rating of 1.9 stars from 137 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with ihookup most frequently mention total scam, credit card and day trial. ihookup ranks 655th among Dating sites.
