These people continually blame DMV or a misunderstanding of their Term of Conditions for their faulty system. Just fix your voice recognition system to recognize voices! Seems simple enough, right?! Wrong! They seem to think we are to dense to understand that in there long winded explanation that they are trying to shift the blame to the user or DMV! They even tried to charge me twice and for twice as much when I logged back in! When I called, customer service said it was my computer doing it! Can you believe it?! It was then I asked for a refund. For the sake of your stress levels, look elsewhere. I recommend National Safety Council. I gave idrivesafely one star for promptly refunding me
I just finished using this site and I honestly must say that I am happy I chose it from among the 50 listed in my approved traffic school list. The county that I got my ticket requires online identity verification. Most sites allow a notary to sign or something like experian to verify info which costs additional money. This site confirmed my identity with a few personal questions but didn't cost any more than the $15 registration fee for my traffic school. Was able to complete quickly and had my certificate sent to my traffic court. An hour later I got an email from the traffic court saying they received my completed certificate and that my case is now closed! Wow, that was fast. Thank you!
Thought I was paying $24.95 but they sent me a receipt for $31.09. That was very deceiving. Voice authentication and keystroke were both setup to make you fail and have to start over. When you get locked out and you call customer service, they will not answer and they hang up on you. The worse experience ever. I could not even get my money back. I did the course at American Safety Council instead and had no issues.
Of course I would rather do the course online, and if all goes smoothly this may be ok. However if you need help, nobody answers the phone (after 20 min they say they will call you back but I am still waiting). Chat takes just as long as is also never available. Don't mind the waste of money as much as waste of time - this is a scam
I'm terribly sorry to hear this. It is certainly upsetting to hear that you were not able to get through to our customer service for assistance. If you could please send us an email at socialcare@edriving.com, we can look further into this.
The class it self is a reasonable price. What they fail to mention is that you'll spend anywhere from another $5-$30 on getting the certificate mailed and no you can't print it have it emailed or get it faxed. And God forbid you want two copies that's another $10.
I had a great experience with iDriveSafely. It was user friendly and even had a video option for those that learn better visually. You need a significant amount of time to go through this program (several hours) but it's informative and up to date with California driving laws. 8 definitely recommend it!
The class was thorough. Lots of great content. They could clean up some of the quiz questions, though. For example, I erred on the side of safety in some cases and was marked wrong. If the questions were something like "at least 3 seconds" or "at least 300 feet" I would have gotten them right and still be safe. Also, the explanations of incorrect answers did not pertain to my mistakes so I never got a good explanation of what was wrong.
Wish I could give them a 0 rating. Paid for the permit test & my son took it. When he was trying to submit his answers their system locked up. Made numerous calls over that day and the next. Was told it would take 24 hours to reset. When we called the next day they told us he "timed out" of the question and they were unable to unlock it. Hope no one wastes their money there!
If there is an option of 0 star, I would not hesitate to use it. Do not ever waste your time with this extremely annoying program. Their voice recognition is ridiculously frustrating to use, it asked you many times throughout the course, but was unable to recognize correctly. Their customer service is 24/7 if you want to stay on the phone for an hour or even longer till someone can pick up the phone with any help.
After 5 hours I got to the 7/8 section of the defensive driving course and failed the voice recognition verification. Their voice recognition system clearly sucks. I was in the same room with no background noise and I called from the same number like they suggested. I called customer service and got some lady that was probably in India who blamed it on New York State & told me she could do nothing for me and that I had to start the course over. I told her I wanted a refund and she said it would take 7 DAYS! Wasted 5 hours of my life what a rip off.
I am terribly sorry that you experienced trouble with the NY DMV-mandated voice verification system. Unfortunately, while the voice verification system is maintained by us, its requirements and parameters are set by the NY DMV itself. We cannot vary from these parameters or adjust the system in any way not in line with the state regulations, else we would no longer be able to offer courses in the Empire State, this is not an attempt not to take any blame for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but to explain that the law in New York is very clear and we cannot adjust the system in any way because to do so would be illegal. I hope that you agree that breaking the law is not within our remit and thus believe me when I tell you that I am very sorry that you were inconvenienced and suggest that you contact the NY DMV to let your dissatisfaction with the system known. The Customer Service Agent you spoke to was not in India, and your contention that it is suggests that you did not read our website where it clearly explains that our offices are in Texas and California, neither of which are in the nation of India, and if we happen to have Indian-American employees, we are at a loss of why that would be a bad thing as they are US citizens just like I am and I assume you are as well. The information about the NY DMV requirement that one restart the course is they fail authentication too many times is mentioned in the Terms & Conditions for the course, which one must indicate that one has read and agreed to during registration, as well as on our website at https://www.idrivesafely.com/defensive-driving/new-york/pirp/faq/?vID=z2Xb&eID=860#ci-q9. I apologize for any confusion about this information you may have had when you read it initially. The time it takes for your refund to be processed is actually up to your bank or credit card as your refund processed through our system within 24 hours of it being issued. I suggest that you contact them if you would like to let them know that this is not satisfactory. If you would like more information about these NY DMV regulations, please feel free to contact me at the email address below. Thank you. Joe Tracey, Social Care Specialist, socialcare@edriving.com
Five phone calls and nearly 2 weeks past when we should have received my son's certificate, it still isn't here. Waste of my time and energy trying to just get it sent (when, really, isn't that all they have to do once the course is created?) and huge disappointment for my son, who had scheduled to take his driving test on his birthday.
Karen, I'm sorry to hear this. If you could please reach out to us at socialcare@edriving.com, we can look further into this.
I signed up with idrivesafely before I checked any reviews. After reading all the bad reviews, I was worried that I won't be able to finish the course. The course is flawless & easy to finish. The voice verification system is kind of unnecessary. If you can't finish this course then its your own fault, you did something wrong. There is no final exam if you do good on each quiz after every chapter. At the end If you give them a like, they will rush the process of the application for free. Good luck.
My daughter took this course a few years ago. We need a copy of her certificate of completion mailed or emailed for insurance purposes. We have given them 3 different email addresses to try and the email will not come through. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor - held for 2 minutes then they forced me to leave a message. They suck!
Katie- I'm very sorry to hear this. If you could please send us an email at socialcare@edriving.com, we'll be happy to look further into this.
Do not listen to the complaints about this company! They are spoiled lazy children or Parents that have never worked in their life. This company goes above and beyond when challenged! My insurance company required that my full address including zip code reflect on my certificate. Granted I had to wait an extra day. I asked for the change and they made it! Overnight! On top of it they 2 day mailed it out to me for convenience. I was amazed. I will be back.
Terrible class. Voice recognition is a joke, especially for a 15 year old teen that's voice is changing. I had my money refunded after 3 hours of the course with voice authentication not working. Teendrivingcourse.com is much better. No hassle at all
This course was so fast and easy better than sitting in a boring class to hear somebody talk for hours. Whats really great is you can always come back to the course later on and pick up back where you left off.
I am so pissed off I can't even form a sentence. I failed the voice recognition during the last chapter. No idea why, last i checked my voice was still mo voice. I have been on it for 5 hours. Now because of their horrible verification system, I have to start ALL over. There help was horrible and could not fix the situation.
Tried to get a refund, but they want to charge me a $9 transaction fee on the refund for a $40 class. Screw them. I am putting a stop payment on my credit card for this.
This is an online class with no teacher. The best thing is that they let you go at your own pace. They have a mixture of reading materials and videos, which were informative but not entertaining really. They also had tests after each Section which were fairly simple to pass as long as you spent some time with the materials. Overall, I have no problem recommending this service to others.
I signed up for the online driving course to lower my insurance rate. After spending 3+ hours taking the course, their voice verification technology failed and erased all my progress. Do not waste your time and money on this. The customer service representative, Robert, sounded miserable and was completely unhelpful when I called to see if my progress could be reinstated. I was given a refund for the course, but I'd like my 3 hours back too.
Anna- I'm sorry to hear this. We'd appreciate it if you could send us more feedback regarding this issue if you could please send us an email at socialcare@edriving.com.
Great course so convenient and thorough! Would definitely recommend and use again if needed. The course had videos and text feel like I'm a better driver thanks to the convenience of doing it at my own pace
