Got the chat to the point and was very helpful. Person was pleasant.
Last year I used this company it was such a headache to get figured out. But this year it only took me fifteen minutes from start to finish this time. All documents were excepted the first time and no waitimg.
Horrible experience. It took me 4 hours. I'm on social security and a senior citizen. My earnings aren't even enough that I reach the amount that requires I file a tax return; but, I had to do it anyway in order to get the stimulus owed me.
After verifying my existence with ID.me, I was told that my account is suspicious, a fraudulent return was filed by me, and they will not be paying my refund.
So, I was getting harrassed by the IRS to file a tax return in the first place, even though my income was not high enough to require a tax return. It was at the tax preparer's office that I learned I was due $1800 for a stimulus. So, I complied & filed my refund.
After verifying that I am the taxpayer who filed my own refund with the required documentation, I was told that my attempt to verify who I am is fraudulent and I will not get my refund.
Is this ID.me a scam? Are they legit? I have my doubts. They are calling me, an authentic person with a birth certificate that has my name on it, a driver's license, a passport, bank statements, social security documents...all with my name on them...this ID.me is calling me a fraud.
Well, I think they are the fraud. I swear, the irs will stop at nothing to keep honest hard working taxpayers from receiving the money that is owed them. I worked for 47 years and paid into the system every one of those years.
