IRS ID.me function and service is safe, quicker and easy to use.
I have never used a web site that was so user unfriendly. I took me over 2 hours for a procedure that should not have taken more than 10 minutes I was blocked at every turn without an adequate explanation of what the problem was. It was one of the most frustrating experiences that I've ever had and I wanted to write this review to say how disgusted I was with the poor construction of this web site. I finally had to resort to the referee to get my selfie interview done. My son is a web site developer and he agreed with me that it was really AWFUL! IF YOU CAN AVOID THIS WEB SITE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

My account needed many updates. The more I tried to fix my account, the worse it got. ID.me was so patient to walk me through several attempts to get it fixed. Very professional staff.
It was good the only problem was that the mic was cutting out. I don't know if it was my WiFi or the other person. But besides that I think it went good.

The experience was fairly easy. I just needed my computer, driver's license, and phone.
I believe wait time was shorter than directly calling the IRS. Upload documents first and wait for video call, it was easy to upload needed docs and wait for thier approval, then agent had me show documents on video and answer a couple of questions. Was simple and straight to the point, about a 2 min video call.
Amazingly easy yet it would be impossibly difficult for anybody to duplicate what they asked me to do to prove my identity. I hope they continue to do business with me I wouldn't want to use any other company.
