ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

Tried to correct a bad physical address. Because it wasn't my present address the assistant refused to understand a human could have lived at more than 1 location in their lifetime and just kept telling me to go change my profile ( present address). Still trying to get ahold of a human.
My desktop computer is 10 years old and I just haven't gotten to a place to trade it in for a new one. I had already set up an account because I was or am having issues with being able to research my training papers and the like. After 3 times of being like a nurse giving a flu shot, I kept trying to get into the system and each time it gave me an ERROR 90, that had something to do with a 3rd processor or initialization from one site to another. I'm just not sure anymore could be done, but I did try calling their help number, but of course they were closed. I will just have to wait until the week starts up.
It's a you don't have a choice no way around not using the website. So why anyone cares about reviews is beyond me. You can NOT log into the IRS without using ID Me it's just another government roadblock like making everyone stay home during covid.
I have been hacked and scammed too many times and I am sick and tired of it. I believe the ID.me will help knock that fraudulent activity to slow way down now that I have verified my identity.
I had faught hard regaining my account from suspension, it took two years after suspicious activity. I was resilient and kept sending in proof to back up my complaint. I now have access to my me account when I received the email, stating my account was no longer on suspension, it made my day and whole weekend happy!
It is great to have when you have to prove who you are and that you are also a Veteran it is the easiest to use
Have it for years now and is great to have
Can't get in to my brother's account anymore. My brother Paul Pettman, (0704) served x2 in Vietnam. I take care of ALL his business, I am his POA. I need to be able to once again access his VA account, talk to his doctor, etc. Liz R.N.

Very easy. Even though I was having internet problems, the experience was very simple and not a waste like similar ones I've tried in the past.
Wasn't too bad. Just need to be patient and pay closer attention to the directions. It was a thorough vetting process, and it's creators should be commended.
The system was very user friendly and secure, when it came to inputting my personal information into the appropriate fields. I was able to upload the required documents in order to show proof of my identity. Not to mention, the system made it manageable to speak directly to a ID.me agent via web camera for personal protection.
After all I went through it ended up being a learning experience and it was very easy to do. It was easy once you get pass the selfie.
As a veteran with over 30 years of service, I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the ID.me verification process. The system's inability to accept VOIP or prepaid phone numbers, which are my only means of communication, created a significant and unnecessary obstacle. This forced me to travel to a service center to complete the verification, causing considerable inconvenience. The fact that a system designed to verify the identity of those who have served our country fails to accommodate widely used communication methods is unacceptable. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and nearly led me to opt out of online services altogether. I was even prepared to contact my Congressman for assistance. ID.me needs to address these issues and improve their verification process to ensure that veterans and others who rely on VOIP or prepaid phones are not unfairly burdened. This experience has severely undermined my trust in ID.me and I would strongly advise others to be prepared for potential difficulties during the verification process."
La principio fue algo complicado porque no entendΓa, pero una vez que empezΓ³ a seguir los paso semestre facilito y fue mΓ‘s rΓ‘pido y sencillo
Everything took forever to complete and the verification lady was a snot.
You need more proof of ID than you are originally told.
Durante este proceso me han podido dar toda la informaciΓ³n que deseaba y han sido muy amables a la hora de intercambiar palabras
It help me out alot I can say getting a better understanding of the situation and how it's a global thing
I have already completed a lengthy ID.me survey. Increases time and effort needed to access the sites that I need to access. Yet allows another entity to access and track my data and activities. Increases privacy risks to my info and activities and compromises the security and access to my identity.
The waiting for my tax return is something else. Idk if the IRS got my information needed for the identity verification?
