My husband always did our taxes and I just always signed my name. He passed away in April 2024 so I had to learn to do them. This being my first year, I contacted an accountant. I applied for an account with IRS.gov and they had a unique ID verification process. Especially the selfie part.

The MFA procedure is ridiculous if you are not technically inclined. The only positive experience I had was with the Video Call Agent.

The 1st agent wasn't helpful; her body language was none caring. The 2nd agent which was African American was beautiful very helpful.
