I've been with them over 20 years; borrowed from them only once ($8400) and paid it back like clockwork, paying it off early. My credit score is around 700, I have only a modest house and car as debts, no other loans or credit cards. I cannot borrow ANYTHING now because their corporate underwriters in Lafayette will not approve anything. Officer in Monroe told me "we have a 3-tiered system and you are at the bottom." Yes, that is exactly what he told me. They have a lot of nerve passing themselves off as a hometown bank...
They treat their Vehicle loan holders like red-headed stepchildren. Iberia is the only bill that I write a check for due to their charging something like three dollars to pay by phone and no provision for paying online. I will not be looking to use them for anything else going forward.
I called Canal St. Branch in New Orleans, they connect me to a lady "JOY" she was very nasty and asked me "WHAT DO YOU WANT". I was like can you provide your name please, she says - "Its JOY, now what do you want". At this point I'm thinking did key her car, or call her momma a $#*! or something because she was SUPER rude. I proceeded to hang up because I could have gotten better service at the police station being arrested for armed robbery than at this bank branch. Stay AWAY - NO good alternatives but CHASE here I come!
Martin R. De Laureal, Jr. As executive vice president and president of IBERIA Wealth Advisors and Iberia Financial Services. May he improve the services they provide for the Elderly. My mother of 97 has 2 trusts with Iberia. Iberia inherited many of the problems that Gibraltar Bank started in 2005. At that time my mother was worth over $4,000,000. She is now worth approximately $100,000. She will run out of money in 2020 and will have to apply for Medicare. Problem there is $265,000 on the ledger in her trust yet Iberia is unable to come up with an inventory of what this personal property represents. If that is kept on the books and her Trust is not liquidated she will not be approved for Medicare. It has been long documented that my mothers care costs approximately $12,000 a month. Their Wealth Management has no idea on how to handle a situation where one of their clients runs out of money and needs to be moved over to Medicare to continue her care. They also have no idea on how to liquidate personal property that favors their client. Please investigate. Kimberly Ross the representative of my mothers Iberia account in Coral Gables FL She does not answer emails or questions. Most recent is giving me her department head's contact information. It will be worth your while and an example to not follow in the future.
I'm mortgaging a house thru Iberia Bank and their representative Stacey Cropsey. She has been a joy to deal with and has led me step by step thru the process. She responds to my calls and email 24 hrs a day and has held my hand in several tense moments. I haven't bought a house in 35 years and was terribly nervous. She calmed all my fears and has made this a simpler process. The interest rate was below 4%, and she was able to get me grant assistance from HUD, and connected me with a First Time Homebuyers class required for the grant, for free. Her upbeat, positive attitude, ridiculously funny sense of humor, and knowledge of her product has lead me to refer several friends to her. I'd recommend anyone looking for a mortgage, who is credit worthy and needs a mortgage banker who treats you like their best friend, contact Stacey Cropsey thru Iberia Bank. If you're in the Tampa/St Petersburg FL area, contact her at *******@iberiabankmortgage.com. (She did give me permission to add her email address.)
If there was an option for ZERO stars, I would leave that! Their customer service SUCKS. Been trying to close account since last year after I had to abruptly move. Nearest bank now 4 hours away after move. Wouldn't close after messaging via app, and still won't as wants me to go in-person. Brought my account as close to 0 as possible so wouldn't worry about dealing with balance, and they still won't close account. Now in the negative due to below balance fees. NOT MY PROBLEM AS I REPEATEDLY ASKED FOR ACCOUNT TO BE CLOSED. Unless this bank wants to pay for my travel to my nearest bank, CLOSE THE FRAKKIN ACCOUNT!
Agreed to open an account for me and took the initial deposit. The next day they said they were not opening an account, but refused to release the hold on my deposit (paid via AMEX).
They choose to tie my money up and just let the hold fall off. I filed a Complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and they won't even respond to the Complaint.
Below is what I received from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau -

11. 2. 2020 (Update) Filed a Complaint with the Federal Reserve and received a response that IBERIABANK should be responding to the CFPB and was in violation for not.
Also filed a Complaint with the Arkansas Attorney General and it was assigned an investigator yesterday, whom reached out to me for exact details.
This bank believes they do not have to answer to any regulatory authority.
Answer: They generally will not call you back. You have to bug them to get your bad news.
