“I-to-i TeFl Online courses”

Jessica M.
6/27/15

So I have had a VERY good overall experience with i-to-i TEFL. From the beginning the staff were extremely helpful. I chose to do the 120 hour online course as well as the Advanced Grammar course and Teaching English for Business. Firstly I would say that I do come from a teaching background and chose not to do the hands on teaching practice as I already have classroom experience. I found the content of the course to be very helpful and insightful and for someone that has never thought English as a second language before I honestly learnt A LOT. They also provide live online webinars where you can ask any questions you want as well as engage in live seminars. Which I found extremely helpful. Students can also listen to old seminars, engage with other students and teachers. Each unit has a multiple choice questionnaire to do, some are intense and provides you to read the material and understand it all properly. Then you have checkpoints to complete and students receive very good feedback with each assignment. These assignments include lesson plans, correcting students work, identifying speech errors, inventing creative games and so on. I found the course very beneficial and have also managed to land my first teaching job which I will begin in September. Thank you i-to-i for your great work.

“EXPLOITATIVE SCAM!”

Shivani N.

Don't use this platform. Their business practices are exploitative. Not only do they charge some of the highest once-off fees but they also limit full access to the course so that you end up having to pay exorbitant extension fees and take unreasonable timeframes to mark assignments so it results in the same exploitative outcome. They are also unresponsive when attempting to resolve issues and inaccuracies with their platform and system. They stop responding to emails entirely. I complained via their Instagram page and they blocked me. Their full terms and conditions are also not clearly brought to a consumer's attention before purchase of the course. Save your money and effort and use another platform.

The internships in this site are an absolute scam. You pay to work and get treated like complete $#*!. Thought it would be worth it for a short term placement but it really really isn't. The website is lies (ie told bedrooms would be private and they were shared, told accomodation would have a kitchen) and the second you get there you lose all support. I read some terrible reviews before I went but thought it would be fine considering it was only for a few months and I wasn't bothered about the salay and I really regret it. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent

Half way into the program (that you don't get on line help with like promised!) I lost my son so could not continue (understandable?!) I rang them to ask for an extension and they could give me 30 days or I'd have to pay! Really like I hadn't paid enough! I asked for a supervisor but was told none available so emailed….finally got a reply saying sorry about my son and all they could offer was the 30 days (no way near enough to complete 2 units never mind 10 plus) or send them my sons death certificate to enable them to offer anything else! Nice ……not!

My encounter with this shameful British gang of thieves was in 2017 when they tried to con my partner and I to accept a "Tefl Internship" at 8,000 rmb, with Best Learning aka Beile Education Group in Beijing. Upon further investigation, we discovered through one of the foreign teachers at Best, that it was a regular full-time job that really paid 16,000 rmb packaged as an internship" so that I-to-I and Jeremy, the CEO at Best could split and pocket the other 8,000 every month for 6 months. Later we met 6 teachers that fell into that trap and could not do squat aboout it because they signed a legally-binding contracts.

Unpaid internships for tefl/tesol is always a scam. Unpaid practicum to get a certificate is sometimes part of the course and there should only be about 20hrs of that more or less.

Teaching in SEA for months and not getting paid is a SCAM! Just apply for a teaching job in SEA, you'll get one and you'll get paid.

First the sales reps lie through their teeth telling newbie TEFL teachers that only their TEFL certificate is accepted in China and that without it you will only get a kindergarten job. It is now 2018 and NEVER in the history of China TEFL was there a requirement for a TEFL certificate for foreign teachers! In reality, their certificate is recognized in only 10-12 African, East European, and Latin American countries since it is an online course.

Secondly if you go to duckduckgo.com and search TEFLonline or i-to-i with the key word of "scam" you will find three pages of complaints that do not show up on Google. Why? Because these two companies owned by the same guy in the U. K. buys thousands of dollars of Google AdWords and afvertisement which gets their propaganda and self-created reviews on page 1 and 2 of Google. When was the last time you searched 5-8 pages deep on anything?

Here is just A SAMPLE of what pops up on these scammers:

You will find they are very notorious for they fake TEFL Teacher Internships abroad which are really regular jobs sold to their dumb customers at a 50% salary level for 3-6 months with an "internship" label. The employers are tickled pink with this deception and go along with it because they save 50% of salaries and do not have to pay for nor provide medical insurance or paid holiday nor overtime to "interns". All in all this U. K. group is a very devious bunch.
