Help desk is not really useful, and you don't provide good ways to improved Web site works. WordPoress is not working well with your system, a lot problems with Forms and email.
Having to contact a 3rd party to verify my domain is aggravating and slows business. Please automate this process.
HostGator hosting packages are very cheap and their support is very efficient and they offer me one of the best ever customer service. My queries/concerns are solved in less 5 minutes most of the time.

I have asked to cancel my domain and I turned off auto renewal. I then got an email today saying that my credit card could still be charged unless I contact support again.
I have spent over thirty billable hours over the past month trying to get my email to work. I cannot send anything! I'm on the verge of cancelling my account.

Customer Service... and WAS fast... now slow to load.
Been with HostGator for years. They keep making improvements to their backend, which is much easier to navigate and use than it was ten years or so ago. I don't recall any time when my sites were down (though I don't monitor this constantly).

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
