Just try to pay for a domain extension using Brave browser. I got an error message when submitting a payment that "Phone must be entered on request," But there was no field to enter a phone. You can't even accept your fvictims' money.
Not happy with service. My WordPress sites the login info no longer works and the schedule posts never appear. Also the new layout is very confusing and it is harder to figure out how to pay a balance.
I'm sure it's as good or better than any other host site. But, it's not like someone with no computer or online training and experience can just step in a create a site. In fairness, someone who can't read can't sit down and write a book either. In the end, I hired my Son to set up the page. Easy way out.
Renewed subscription but looks like I still need to submit a ticket to remove the suspended page. Everything with Hostgator is painful, and to add insult to injury your greedy price mandated price increase, without any consideration to legacy customers that have supported you for decades shows that you are a company without ethics that cannot be trusted.
Bad customer support, and now high prices... I have now 2 months trying to figure it out an error on my wp site, theme developers says is the server and hosting customer support the theme issues... but the lock of knowledge from their team cannot even help me find out "the why"... I used to have another hosting provider for sure I won't be here soon...
Worst hosting I had ever, can't wait to change it.
UI and UX are really annoying, Don't understand why when I login into my user account first appear advertise and then I need to click to go in admin panel. Quite unprofessional, no?
You support service sucks they messed my renewals big time and are making me pay more that I should be. This is the last year I'll be with you. I will move out from this unprofessional and low quality service
I tried to cancel this account over a year ago when I originally signed up. However, after discovering your company could not meet my needs I have talked to several people and sent several chats, and I'm still getting billed for things I'm not using and have no intention of using. I have developed brain cancer and can no longer run a business. Please cancel any and all services that may be still hanging around. Thank you,

Over a two year period, a child company of Endurance International, Hostgator.com, charged me for services that had previously been cancelled. After numerous contacts they said they would refund the fraudulent charges to the card used. However that card had since expired and was removed from my profile with them so as not to be used for other fraudulent transactions. When I requested a paper check be mailed to me I was told I'd "need to wait and see."

We were able to reach Matthew and make things right. He will be receiving a paper check as requested. Thank you.
My website performance is very slow. Tech support has not been very helpful. They almost seem reluctant to help. Getting information is like pulling teeth sometimes.
And that stupid chat button is so annoying. Everytime I login to the portal, that chat window opens up and covers the content of the screen. There is no way to minimize that window.
Your servers went down taking all my websites offline for several hours. I had no indication that the issue was on your end until I submitted a ticket. I would expect that when there is an issue such as this that you would communicate it to me rather than me having to seek you out after I discovered the problem. At the very least a portal that provides service status that I can check at any time would have been helpful.
Customer service is not good. A lot of inconsistent info and effort. I had a very hard time sorting out my ssl issues. Ive been dealing with this issue for a couple of months. A lot of wasted time. I cannot use the free ssl you provide with payment services. Only one rep knew this after many interactions. Took way too long to learn that i needed to get a paid one.

I called for tech support 2 days ago and your automated system said I would get a call back in 20 minutes. Nobody ever called and your service does not work. AT&T is bouncing all of our messages rendering your service useless for us. We want to cancel ASAP.

New system is terrible to use. User unfriendly. And CSR are not helpful b/c they lack knowledge of your system ex. Domain name process. Look at my issues with this in Dec 2023. AWEFUL. CSR were friendly
I had an issue with SSL and HTTP redirect, and the awesome customer support kindly fixed it quickly!

The best thing HostGator has is live chat and phone support. Everyone there is responsive and never leaves you without help. So far, for 10 years, they have always managed to solve a problem and help effectively.

Best hosting services. I have never encountered any major problem with my hosting or website that they (Hostgator) have not been able to solve in minutes. Recommended for small or large systems/websites.
Moved to hostgator and signed up with their sister company site lock. Now I'm getting told I need additional protection, that I MUST have additional protection. It feels like a scam. I never had, aware problems before.

Never cancelled. But Hostgator is exploitive and has increased price over and over and over for the cheapest Baby plans. Insane. Money grabbing, yet your service has decreased and value decreased. Money grabbing - Shameful company standards. Will cancel soon. Have been telling everyone to stay away and go with ethical companies. So yes, Hostgator is trash due to the way you exploit clients.

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
