I regret choosing HostGator. For two days I am not able to do anything on my dashboard because I'm getting an error message "something went wrong, please try again later". It has been two days now, I chatted numerous times with customer care representatives, I spoke numerous times on the phone, they opened a case two days ago, I received emails telling me the case has been accelerated and the engineering team is working to fix the problem, and so far after two days nothing has been done. I'm seriously considering to transfer to another hosting company.
I have used them before with little issue. But this time, I used there system to install my WP site, and it hasn't worked correctly since installation. If continuously throws 404,500 and 504 errors, even though the pages and content exist. So far my website is worthless until they can figure these issues out.
Host Gator cannot be trusted to follow through. We paid them for web site transfer and waited, as instructed, for an email from their customer service. After 2 weeks we tried to follow up but were told we had to go though a "verification" process that took several weeks to finish by chat and email. In the end, customer service emailed us to let us know they would not refund our money since it was slightly more than 45 days after we initially signed up. Do NOT trust these sites that require full payment prior to doing any work or service whatsoever. I will be posting this message on every review board I can find to warn folks about this unscrupulous company.
I have been helped by multiple chat support representatives but Sachin was the best hands down, quick, efficient, knowledgeable, and pro tips. I could go on. She was able to help me within a short amount of time. Speed, and smiles :)
Tyler Moore did convince me to choose HostGator with his discount he offered on his youtube channel. But, until now, I think the platform is so well organized and easy to use. I will probably upgrade my hosting soon if I get more clients. Thank you very much

Because they initially seemed to be very effective. Turns out its only so when it comes to charge you. I now have an issue with my website and I have not been able to get it running again in over a month!
Not Go, that's for sure. Got tired of getting charged for every little thing, so switched to HostGator a few years ago. Decent rates, good tech support, free SSLs and email accounts, etc. Highly recommended!
Repeatedly over the past few months, our website has been down in some cases for hours at a time. We have been loyal customers for many years and had hoped communication with tech support would provide answers. We were shrugged off and told "we are upgrading our servers". This is going on too long!

Very disappointed... this new layout is extremely complicated... not easy friendly. Very friendly support service. (This is not what we pay for) situations that could be resolved in 5 minutes take hours... and then we can't We don't even know how to express our disappointment... where can we file a complaint? Nobody knows... very sad
I'm trying to get google and Microsoft credits but there is no option. Support has been stalling me for anything i ask. "We are checking" etc. this is the only thing they have said and then the chat expires because of inactivity.

10/29 start-Reseller accounts have been down for over 30 hours now. No communication to customers, besides they are working on it. Many of us found out by calls in the middle of night early morning by our own clients. NO ETA at all. During the day Facebook and Twitter followers made replies and significant amount for these replies were deleted, including mine. My were appropriate but very factual. Several reports on Facebook of waiting for over an hour then starting to talk and be hung up on via live chat and phones. At one point no one would answer phone support or reply to social media.
Site is still down the guy last night said it would be sorted in a few minutes that was 10 hours ago cant even sort it. You guys who ive been with for 6 years have gone massively downhill over the last year. You used to be so quick and helpful now i dont even trust you guys have actually done anything at all seriously thinking about moving away

The new back office is absolutely terrible. Counter intuitive. And substantially less easy to navigate that the previous back office. I'm astonished that this release was authorized. I'm not the only one. Many of my friends are even thinking of leaving HostGator due to the level of frustration it has caused.
Having difficulty correcting SSL settings on my website. I used online support and waited prescribed time, but still nothing but frustration. Six and a half hours to get one thing fixed is making me really consider using a different host other than host gator.

I have had my account for almost a month and still havent been able to start working on my site because it was with a different name server. The influencers or whoever you have selling your product did a good job of getting me here but not giving me a good enough heads up for this particular situation i'm in. They could've addressed if a customer already owned a site somewhere else a little better.

Jericho was such a nice guy who knew how to solve the issues I was facing so far with multiple sites. He fixed every one of those in a few minutes. I usually Hostgator's support is good but damn this item, it was awesome. When you're facing an issue, having expert support is like a really solid helping hand that supports you in all hurdles.

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
