I had fun biding on different items and I was able to win some of them. After that, I was expecting long delays to have my items mailed to me but I got them less than 2 days after. I will definitely repeat the experience!
While the auction itself went well and I won several items, I was unable to find any way to enter my reseller's permit information which would allow me to not pay the usual sales tax (I have a brick and mortar business).
I was bidding on items to purchase, but I noticed a bidder made a max high bid on all items, and I was outbid because they entered an extremely high bid. I checked on my bids to see the progress of the auction, and for some reason, I won items that I was outbid on because they removed the previous high bids, so I could win on low-value items and used items at a higher price. I feel I have been cheated.
Great selections. Too expensive due to shipping costs and not knowing exactly what you are getting. It's just better to buy off ebay. Better description and money back guarantee if you don't receive it on ebay. Alot of sellers do not give tracking number. Need to leave a feedback on sellers. Some are just mean.
Hi Lisa, thanks for your feedback. It might help to try to find auctions closer to your area or ask about shipping before bidding. All auctions on HiBid typically have different parameters for shipping as these auctions are managed independently by auctioneers and sellers.
Regarding item descriptions and guarantees, we encourage our sellers to provide detailed listings, but each auctioneer sets their own policies. If tracking numbers aren't provided, we recommend contacting the seller directly through the platform. You can also contact HiBid support at 844-775-4774 to help facilitate communication.
We're continuously looking at ways to improve our feedback system so buyers can make more informed decisions about sellers. We appreciate your suggestions as they help us enhance the HiBid experience.
L just love this place! I bid on items that are local (for pickup) and I also bid on items that require shipping. You do have to be a bit careful if you need shipping and watch for "handling fees", especially since postage has skyrocketed. But, if you are watchful of what you bid on you can find some great deals, as well as just have fun!
Good morning, The only thing that would be a low score is the limited pick up times available. I looked as soon as I got my invoice and the times were full. I do understand as it gets really busy and you wouldn't be able to do it any other way.
Thank you,
I have done these auctions quite often, although this time it made me go to the live auction view when my item only had a few minutes left. I dont like that view because it all moves around and I lose track of my items. I only like to view them in my watch list. So this time my item was getting a lot of bids and I was trying to keep up and I accidently hit the "bid now" button below. It was the wrong item and I didn't notice until it was too late. So I was not happy, given now I had bid on something I didn't want and I couldn't find my item. Finally I did but I do not like that view I find it extremely confusing.
Thank you for your feedback and for being a regular user of our platform. We're sorry to hear about the confusion you experienced with the live auction view and accidentally bidding on an unwanted item.
Your experience highlights an important area for improvement. The automatic switch to live auction view and the layout that made it difficult to track your items is something we'll take a closer look at. We understand how frustrating it can be to lose track of items you're watching, especially during those final crucial minutes.
If you need assistance with managing an accidental bid, please contact our support team at 844-775-4774, and they can help guide you through your options. We appreciate you taking the time to share this detailed feedback as it helps us identify specific areas where we can make the user experience more intuitive.
I have found HiBid online auction service is convenient and easy to use and have used this service multiple times. Reviewing the auction items prior to auction date, items of interest can be added to a "watch list". You can choose to enter a bid at that time or wait until the auction begins. I always take advantage if a onsite preview of the auction items is offered before the sale. This allows you to check condition and/or check for defects of any items that you may be interested in. Once the auction is complete a invoice and pickup schedule is emailed.
Thank you for the fantastic review and for being a repeat bidder with HiBid! We’re glad to hear you find the platform convenient and easy to use. It's great that you're taking full advantage of features like the watch list and onsite previews—that’s a smart way to bid with confidence.
We appreciate your continued support and hope you keep finding great deals in upcoming auctions!
I utilize HiBid on a few different auctions. The platform is mostly user friendly and more reliable then some of the auction holders web sit. For me, one thing I would like to see is to have the ability on the watch list to have it be live instead of every 60 sec. For refresh. When you are watching multiple items that are closing around the same time, keeping track in the live view with everything can be challenging. If the watchlist was live, you would only see your live the items you are watching. Thank you, Mike Schliebe
Hi Mike, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for being an active part of the HiBid community across multiple auctions—we really appreciate it! We're glad to hear you find the platform user-friendly and reliable.
Your suggestion about having a live watchlist view is a great one. We can definitely see how that would make tracking multiple closing items smoother, especially when timing is everything. I’ll be sure to pass this along to our development team for future consideration as we continue working to enhance the bidder experience.
Thanks again for your input and for choosing HiBid. If there’s anything else you’d like to share or if you need assistance, we’re always here to help!
I was a winner on an item. However, since I had set a max bid I was unaware that I had won. Previously, I eoukd receive a notifications of status, an amount that was charged to my credit on file, and instructions for pickup.
Thank you for your feedback, Jane. We understand how important timely notifications are, especially when it comes to knowing the status of your bids and purchases.
Typically, when you win an item, the auctioneer handling the sale will send out invoices and pickup or shipping instructions directly. If you didn’t receive these details as expected, it’s possible the email may have gone to your spam or promotions folder, or there could have been a delay in communication from the auction company.
We recommend reaching out directly to the auctioneer listed on your invoice for any specific details about charges or pickup instructions. If you need help locating their contact information or if you continue having issues receiving notifications, feel free to give our support team a call at (844) 775-4774. We're happy to assist.
Thank you for sharing your experience—it helps ensure smoother auctions for everyone.
Shipping fee's come after making it separate transactions is so outdated. Some buyers ask you to pay in other ways since it doesn't always work on HiBid. LasVegasAuctions never gave me any of my stuff. The number I called was just some grumpy guy screaming about how they lose all this money on HiBid. Said I had to pay with Zelle... If you want an organized receipt trail... DO NOT BID ON THIS SITE!
Hi Eric, we’re sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. HiBid is a platform that connects bidders with independent auction companies, and each seller sets their own shipping policies, payment methods, and terms.
If a seller isn’t providing the level of service expected, we strongly encourage reaching out to HiBid support directly at 844-775-4774 so we can investigate and take appropriate action if needed.
We want every bidder to have a smooth, trustworthy experience, and your comments help bring attention to issues that may need to be addressed. Thank you again for bringing this to light
I'm 73 years old and have been buying items for myself, not to resell, for years. I have utilized all the other formats of various names any 'shopper' would recognize. HiBid quickly became my favorite and they are second to none in every way. Believe me, when this old Cherokee Indian says they're the easiest and best to use, try them. Respectfully, Dale (Bigindin)yeah
Thank you so much, Dale! We're honored by your kind words and grateful for your trust in HiBid. It means a lot coming from someone with your experience — we're glad to be your go-to auction platform. Happy bidding, Bigindin!
I thought I had won several items since the auctions were closing with my bid being last one placed, but it turns out the "winning" was at seller's discretion. Reserve wasn't met, so seller didn't want to let go of the items. Either have a minimum bid or make it clear to bidders that it's a seller's discretion. In the end, it was a total waste of my night.
Hi Lynn, thanks for your feedback. That definitely sounds frustrating. Some sellers do place reserves on items, which means the lot won’t sell unless the minimum price is met. These reserve details are usually listed in the auction’s terms and item descriptions. If something isn’t clear, it’s always a good idea to contact the seller directly through the auction page. We appreciate you sharing your experience.
Have been using the service for a year or so for a local bi-weekly auction. The system works well, and the only issue I have is not with Hi-Bid, but the auctioneer who can be sporadic with his viewing and start times.
Thanks, Robert! We’re happy to hear HiBid has been working well for you over the past year. We appreciate your continued support and hope your local auctioneer becomes a bit more consistent for an even smoother experience!
It was pretty good. The only thing i dont like is the bidders names. You really dont know if the owner is bidding to drive up the price or not. It should not be anonymous. People driving up the price higher than what you can actually buy the stuff in the stores. Not talking about antiques
Thanks for the 5-star review, Henry! We appreciate your thoughts. Bidding activity is managed by the sellers, and concerns about pricing or transparency are important to note. If you'd like to change your bidder name, you can reach out to HiBid support at 844-775-4774 — they’ll be happy to help walk you through the process.
I recently participated in an online auction, buying things through the HiBid site. It was a local auction and I found the process worked extremely well. I purchased several items. On some I placed my bid several days in advance. And was able to participate in the live auction for several other items. Everything went perfectly. I was successful in buying multiple items and them very pleased with the whole process.
Thanks for the great review, Douglas! We're glad to hear your experience with both pre-bidding and live bidding went smoothly. Enjoy your auction wins!
Screen touch sensitivity a problem, lost out on numerous lots because it far too slope to respond!
It's only gotten worse over time!
I just gave up trying, it's enough to upset and turn one off!
It needs to be recalibrated!
Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like there might be an issue with the touch sensitivity on your phone. We recommend trying to clear the cache, or possibly updating the app or browser you’re using. If the issue persists, it may help to check the screen calibration on your device as well. We hope this helps, and appreciate your patience! Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.
This was the first auction I ever particpated in, and it was a totally new experience. I was able to win bids on some very nice furniture and other household goods. I had a good time in the process participating with others who were bidding. I would recommend using HiBid to anyone looking to buy items for auction and I look forward to doing it myself again in the future.
Thank you for your wonderful review, David! We're thrilled to hear that your first experience with HiBid was such a positive one. It’s great to know that the process was smooth, and the team at the site was helpful. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to having you participate in more auctions with us in the future. Happy bidding!
I bid on a recent auction. The process is seamless. I find what I like and add it to my Watch List. Then I can concentrate on bidding. Afterwards the invoice is sent very quickly and the process is done. This is a very easy experience and it makes me want to "shop" more!
Thank you for the wonderful 5-star review, Vicki! We're thrilled to hear that you had a seamless experience using HiBid. It's great that the process works so well for you, from bidding to receiving invoices quickly. We look forward to having you shop with us again soon!
Recently one HiBid auction house has started hosting a number of auctions aimed at a very specific collectable. I appreciate their efforts, and I have enjoyed using the site. It's very easy to use, and very clear on whether you are winning or not. I particularly enjoy the "watch" function.
Thank you for your review, M J.! We’re so glad to hear that you’ve had a positive experience with HiBid and that you appreciate the features like the "watch" function. We’ll continue to work hard to keep the platform easy to use. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out. Happy bidding!
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Marvin. We take concerns about bidding integrity very seriously and understand how situations like this can be frustrating.
In auctions on our platform, sellers are not permitted to bid on their own items, and shill bidding is strictly prohibited. However, there are times when bids may be legitimately retracted or removed—such as in the case of non-qualified bidders, clerical errors, or other valid reasons determined by the auctioneer managing the sale. Since each auction is independently operated by auctioneers and resellers, they are responsible for monitoring bidding activity and ensuring fair practices.
We strongly encourage you to contact the auction company directly for clarification on the bidding activity you observed. If you feel the issue remains unresolved, you're welcome to reach out to our support team at (844) 775-4774, and we can further investigate the matter with the auctioneer involved.
Your trust is important to us, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
