June 27, 2020

Sadly HGTV has moved away from the majority to
Hipsters. Outside Maine Cabin Masters it's pretty tough to watch so with that said

I'm soooo addicted to HGTV I love love love Chip and Joanna Gaines
The Property Brothers
House Hunters(anywhere)

But when it comes to this new show Hometown show(what town?)
Ooooooh my goodness what a waste of time I really tried to watch it the couple they are sooo very boring watching paint dry the music the clothes I can't take it before the first commercial I was googling how to review and I'm glad to know I'm not alone with the rates
I really hope HGTV really take these reviews into consideration and do us all a favor and not invest anymore money in this Hometown Flop of a show
HGTV please bring back what
Made your network awesome not this please pull the plug while you are ahead

I think HGTV didn't do Home Town any favors by running that weird "get up and do it" commercial ad nauseam. Having watched the show, I'm surprised to find I actually like it.

Well I enjoy many if the HGTV shows. I think the new Christina seems to be an opportunity to show off her breasts no real substance to the show whatever..

The Venus commercial on Rock the Block tonight was inappropriate! We are watching HGTV to see beautiful homes and watching girls shave their pubic hairs was embarrassing and offensive.

I enjoy this show very much because it is more than designing for folks to copy Erin and Ben's style. Their talent is in welcoming folks to the town of Laurel Mississippi and integrating them into the commuinity -- That is different than just finding a house and making it look like everyone elses. My taste is not the exact same as Erin's however, I do get ideas that I can use to fit with mine - which I think is the point. For example after my sister mentioned she liked the art work featured on one episode, I looked up Walker Anderson's prints and was able to find notecards of the same design to surprise her with. The fact that Erin and Ben show the many talents and histories in the town and state of Mississippi is a bonus - we get to pick and choose what to take away from each episode. The "HomeTown" hosts aren't trying to sell a "product" so that people can have the same style.
Ben and Erin's relationship seems to reflect their love and appreciation for each other - which is always nice to watch. Just as Chip and Joanna have their personalities, Erin and Ben have theirs. We don't have to be constantly wowed by graphics or the success of their "brand". I enjoy both Fixer Upper and HomeTown because they each have their own style and contributions to HGTV.

Home Town Copy Cat
April 2, 2017

I love Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines. I watched Home Town and was annoyed that this show was trying to copy Fixer Upper. It pales in comparison and I will not watch again.

I'd had it with the juvenile behavior and lovey/dovey stupid antics of Joanna & Chip (40 year olds acting like 17) and Christine and Tarek faking it for making it ($$$$$$). So what do you do but make more of these identical style shows - what nonsense. The shows are totally redundant and predictable and will not be sustainable. They are not like NCIS and CSI with multiple locations and talented actors. Yours are starring ego driven home renovators - who are disgusting.

Instead of doing something more creative HGTV - e.g., like landscaping design and bird and butterfly gardens as one example --- what do you do, but get more blondes and their husbands, (vomit vomit) and replicate identical shows. Duh do you think the public wants this drivel over and over again - NOT NOT NOT at all. I'm no longer watching any of this crap - it's the same designs, the same dialogue and the same phony relationships between husband and wife. Give me break - get some creative people to develop NEW SHOWS not this crap

My ears hurt. The woman talks through her nose and sounds like a chipmunk. I can't continue to watch the show even though it seems interesting.

Does this show really have to be a constant rerun day, afternoon & night? There are so many other much better shows. You could play a variety please.

Almost all the shows are just remixes of old shows. Then they label them as new. Getting very disappointed with this strategy.

I've slowly lost interest in virtually all of the home improvement and home search series on HGTV and no longer bother to watch. All of these houses would be junk where I live, selling for about 20K-70K but everything I see on the shows are 300K-900K or more. I wouldn't pay a penny for them and I wonder what these young people actually do for a living to enable them the mortgage their futures with this debt. They also act like obnoxious little snobs, for example sneering at carpeting, not realizing how cold, noisy and dirty hardwood floors become in real, day-to-day living.

The ladies on the shows are virtually identical in their designs and colors and it's boring. I am not really interested in what the latest "trend" is, I don't want to re-do my entire house in 5 years when the trend goes out of style. Such silliness with the requirement for "open concept" and hardwood floors. I can't stand the blond woman walking around fixer uppers in high spike heels squealing about how gross everything is.

Nothing on these shows represent real life in real America and all of the shows are becoming copies of each other.
