99% of the people on that site including the mods are vicious trolls that bully everyone actually looking for help and ignore spammers making disgusting posts and treating chat like a pick up room. No customer service to speak of; emailed numerous times with no replies, inconsistent and contradictory instructions from moderators. Horrified and disgusted this is the top search result from Google.
Basically, this site is a circle-jerk of the regulars insulting people for things they haven't experienced. I've visited it on and off for about a month, and the majority of people who frequent it are anti-social in their own regard. There is the clique of landlords who denigrate others, saying they "own them" or can "buy them". Then there are the regulars who can insult/disbelieve anyone with impunity. They insult dead loved ones, and then ban you when you show them how ridiculous it is.
I found this site when I was in an extremely dark place, and I made friends, from all over the world, and they really helped me to have the strength to fight. I think the mods do a fantastic job, in what looks like challenging circumstances at times. I would recommend this site to others!
Good site, no issues. Read the rules. I met some amazing people struggling with life in the same way I am. They help me every day to keep fighting the good fight. Thank you, healthfulchat.org, you've been a life saver.
I came to this site when I was feeling very suicidal and the people there helped a lot. It's not got actual therapists and psychiatrists but people seem to want to help each other barring the odd person who is there to troll. I saw mods in there and they were helpful.
I had a great time on the site. The people are interesting to talk to, you can have philosophy discussions if you're interested in that, or get peer support in the other channels.
But the moderators are atrocious. They don't know what they're doing and when you get banned due to a frequent glitch in the website they don't unban you. I asked for support and they did absolutely nothing to help me, even if they could've done it in 5 minutes.
I found this site really good, there are many people who offer advice and support from their own experiences that I found really useful. It does have trolls but usually, the moderators are able to get rid of them fairly quickly.
I would say overall the site offers a lot of support to people who might not be in crisis but just need someone to talk to. I went on as I wasn't sure where to turn to for help, and people encouraged me to speak to a therapist, and when I had concerns about taking medication they helped me know what they had experienced themselves. I feel that I am in a much better place now than I was when I first entered the chatroom.
I've kicked aound the site for a number of years. I admit that I use a number of nicks, but I really am a nice guy. Sometimes I am a poet, a writer, a sensitive and caring guy, a showbiz hipster, an English dude, a guy whose wife died, a poor slob who is unlucky in love, you name it. I started in bipolar room and my female fan base just kept growing. If you are reading this, we have probably chatted at the site on more than one occasion. If I duped you, consider it a life lesson. This one mod has no idea about me and has a crush on all of my nicks. She told each one that she has feelings for him. It's kind of sad. The website is okay especially if you are completely bored or manic. That's about it.
I stumbled upon this site recently, I have found it to be very friendly and people are caring. I have made friends here, who understand that's the most important thing for me. People who understand I have good days and bad days, and that don't judge me for it.
I think the moderators do a good job, they are helpful and friendly and when I had a problem with a user they dealt with it efficiently and made me feel listened to.
I would recommend this site to anyone needing someone to listen and understand.
Honestly I think the sites intentions are AMAZING. The site is trying to help anyone with any issues about anything, by having people talk about it, and is succeeding most of the time :).
But I do however think some mods are definitely a little unfair. I wouldn't say all the mods are unfair, because that is not true. 90% of mods are so nice, so amazing, and always gives people second chances even when they are being put down.
I have been banned for "creating clones" because my friends were over and they wanted to go on the site too. And, to be fair, I 100% understand why multiple logins from one wifi network is against the rules.
One of the mods just told me I couldn't do multiple logins, in a nice, but stern way, which I think is a really effective. But before I had the chance to tell my friends to we had to log out, another moderator muted me and everyone else using my wifi network. Then 5 seconds later, he banned my network from the website FOREVER. (not even a 48 hour ban?)
Then a few days later one of my friends invited me to her house, so I used her wifi and tried to find the mod that banned me. I found him and tried to explain the situation to him but he wouldn't listen. Instead he banned my friends network from the website forever too.
You might be asking, "Were you and your friends rude to the people on the website?"
And I would say definitely not. Everyone was just chatting and having a great time, which I think is what this website should completely be about.
Moderators there think they are gods and ban people for the most random things, mostly just because they do not agree with them on any subject.
The non-moderator visitors are generally nice people though and make it worthwhile to spend some time there.
The site has good and bad like all chat sites. It is a peer support site so take advice with a grain of salt. There are rooms for a lot of topics and people from all over the world. Some rooms are more active and others it depends on the time of day. I have meet many good people there. Like all sites it gets trolls and people lying for attention. But they mods and ras are good about trying to get them gone or calmed down if they are told.
Overrun. Under-staffed. This place has turned into a mental asylum in every literal sense. Only, the guards themselves are mentally ill too. There is barely any support, and the little support that the good people do give, get lost in a sea of trolls. Any mention of self-harm and feeling suicidal, and you will instantly be muted and spammed with crisis lines, without further dialog.
From my personal experience the moderators on this site breach privacy by reading your personal messages and mute and ban you with no explanation - Blue Gobi is a toxic aggressive moderator and has no regard for its users.
Stay away from this site the moderators are not there to help its users and pick and choose who they ban regardless of what they think you have done.
Went to this site looking for help about how to manage anxiety and found the anxiety room filled with "regulars" that only talk about movies, music and food. When I complained I was told to join in the conversation about the show Killing Eve in order to distract myself from anxiety. How is that supposed to help me when I have a panic attack?
The room assistant called Rosie was more interested in joining in than getting them to change the subject.
A real let down thanks to selfish chatters who think "distracting" by talking about movies will help you with panic attacks.
If you want to talk about movies with people aged 25-50 who talk like their 15 then this is the place, but if you want help with anxiety, go somewhere else.
Sharing my opinion with some other people here. The "mods" are friendly for sure. But there are 40 channels - most of the time 150 users... well we can do the math.
+ adverts and a cry for donation. Tbh - i actually wondered if some of the "guest/trolls" were mods. But yea. Cant know.
This is a site funded by ads. Its a fraud site full of degenerate creeps that will bully ppl for trying to help other ppl out. Tons of perverts and child abusers. Pretty much a dating site for mentally ill people that cant get regular dates IRL. Disgusting. Site should be banned. / 5 minus star rating
Don't go to the depression room if you want any kind of real meaningful support if you're in crisis or severely depressed. Astrid will talk about her cats and that's ok but you're in trouble if you mention sending info about crisis sites. Astrid pretends to be "away" to watch people chat and as soon as you mention that there are other sites for support she'll suddenly pm you and accuse you of advertising or promoting sites and then ban you without warning. She does this most with guests, but will let chatters with nicknames get away with talking about sex in the main room.
The site would be a lot better if moderators like Astrid used common sense because it's ridiculous to ban people for helping others find crisis sites. But they are short on moderators volunteers so you're stuck with people like Astrid who basically tries to browbeat you into saying you won't share crisis support services with people who need it.
Google crisis sites and other support chats like 7cups if you want help
I find healthful chat to be an extremely useful link to the broken chain we call medical and health practices. They never close their door to peer support on you. If you lose insurance are hurt etc they are their for everyone, Peer support is what it is and is only effective to a point due to various locations of dwelling and experiences. The ability to talk with a peer when no one is around to hear you is critical to healing and health. I applaud this service and donate as much as possible.
I was banned in the room because I had the nerve to question a moderator as to why I had been reprimanded for talking about antidepressants ( in a depression support site - how dare I huh?) but he continued to talk about what type of mustard he should be using on a sandwich. Apparently my question was "off-topic" but his wasn't.
Go figure!
Militants. Not interested in the wellbeing of their chatters. Period. Avoid.
Answer: It's more a way for healthfulchat to make an income than a scam, the false advertising about how great it is in my opinion is a scam though. They have low star ratings here for a reason, read some to find out for yourself. Also read the site sponsor reviews here as well, I'd call those scam worthy.
Answer: False advertising on their main webpage & google results.
Answer: You're being trolled via the Notice feature in NickServ. Someone does not like you for whatever reason or sees that you will respond to trolling so has chosen to target you. If you don't respond they stop trying and will leave you alone. If you send this to report content or speak to a moderator they will permit a name change for you. Being a victim of trolling is unfortunately a repercussion of using the internet, it is up to you whether or not you want to add fuel to the fire.
Answer: Many chatters, including room assistants and moderators, have helped me. They've supported me with struggles with my conditions, motivated me to improve my lifestyle, and encouraged me to seek treatment. The Healthfulchat behind the scenes staff went the extra mile to fix a very serious issue I was facing. Very much appreciated!
Answer: Is is very poorly run. The mods are only part-time.
