We arrived tired and landed gatwick called for pickup.
1st it's a personal 1 on 1 service and driver called us to collect us closer to where our exit as the normal pickup was a little walk.driver made everything perfect and so helpful.
Short drive and then met rental staff, again a row of happy and helpful people. I rent vehicles in many countries around the world due to work and this was likely in my top two positive experiences.

Be VERY careful hiring from Greenmotion, Heathrow. After a 15 hour flight from NZ to New York followed by a 7 hour flight to Heathrow we went to collect our pre booked car. The car was ready (ish) We had to take photos of previous damage before driving away, that's fine BUT, before leaving we ended up having to pay a lot more than pre arranged due to them not processing our credit card for the level of insurance we wanted. We drove about 50 miles down the road to discover a slow puncture in the front drivers side tyre. Very rusty worn screw stuck in the tyre. It had been there a while. WORST of all, my fault, I got a $60 (GBP) parking ticket along with some locals I knew. The fee Greenmotion charged for sending me an email advising me was higher than the ticket, $68! Apparently after flying right around the world and extremely tired, being charged almost double what we originally booked our car at I should have closely read paragraph 13. Going for the cheaper option on this occasion was a very bad move. I will not be using this company again.

In Tampa, they took my prepaid money online and never delivered a car, at the checkout counter they first told me about their unreasonable and excessive insurance requirements. I gave them a Declaration page showing my $300,000 of liability coverage which is 10x the required coverage in California and the maximum offered by most insurance carriers and they said sorry we want $500,000 of coverage and you don't qualify, no car and we're keeping your money. So consequently I am filing a complaint with the FL Attorney General's fraud office for deceptive business practices and suing them and Priceline in Long Beach Superior Court. Don't deal with this company or Priceline for that matter which is just as guilty for not detecting Green Motions fraudulent practices and allowing this to happen.

No response back since I made the request 10 hours or more, I made a mistake while booking that, I press back to check something then complete, the beginning date and time was set and I didn't noticed that the end time set to 8:00 instead of 11:00, I made 5 requests and nothing back.

Horrible customer service. The company didn't accept my USAA full coverage insurance, with proof of insurance and my declarations page. I was in Florida for a family emergency and needed to get to the hospital so did what they asked to leave ASAP. The email they claim to contact for assistance did not acknowledge their agents lack of acceptance and feel their terms are grounds for the charge.

Update - We are very happy to hear that your rental went well and you liked the rental vehicle.
BEWARE……They offer cars at an extremely low daily rate BUT once you are at their facility they will FORCE/PRESSURE you into getting all their "upgrades". They do not accept most auto insurance in lieu of their in house insurance. It says nothing about this on their website and in their terms and conditions. They just rudely point to a sign on their counter that states this. I watched them do this to an elderly couple who begrudgingly payed this additional fee which was twice the cost of the rental. Our insurance company was listed on the sign as accepted. We presented them with our our insurance card on-line (GEICO app). They said that the only a HARD COPY of the Declaration page of the Insurance contract was acceptable. They said it is clearly stated in the terms and contracts of the rental (online) and showed me a hard copy of the agreement which DID NOT say this. When I argued with them they told me I was cancelled and refused to honor the reservation. They also kept our prepaid money. We left the site. As we left another returning customer was arguing with them about damage to the car which he said they had documented when they picked up the car. That documentation had somehow disappeared. This place is a well oiled RIPOFF facility. If you go on well respected review sites that can't be "mined" you will see they have a ONE rating and everybody has the same complaint………. BEWARE!

Answer: I have used them many times, always cheapest, always very new cars, always charming and helpful staff ( Stansted Airport). Every firm will try to get you to upgrade. Buy a 3rd party policy, and just say you have your own cover. Up to now I have never been scammed. I ALWAYS inspect the vehicle before. I drive off. I take photos and make sure I get it inspected and signed off by staff when I take it back.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at escalation@cs.greenmotion.com. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
