Unless you are willing to wait a MONTH for your book, spend a few extra dollars and buy elsewhere. Very shady practices. I asked for an update 2 weeks after ordering and they said "a few more days", then when I asked for them to cancel my order because I would rather order elsewhere, suddenly they had a tracking number for me. Then it still took 10 days after giving me that tracking number.

Very slow delivery. I ordered a book 2 weeks ago and it has yet to arrive. It has been sitting in a delivery facility for 8 days without moving, according to the updates. I have usually received books from other used book dealers within a week. Will never use this dealer again.

I was afraid after several sellers on Abe Books sent me horrid quality "new" books (mold, wrinkled cover, beat up, stained). Great Book Prices was a HUGE surprise. New books. Perfect quality. Not a mar. All fresh pages (no yellow!). I will buy again. Shipping was slower than the others but so worth it! Thank you.

Dont buy from this company. They are dishonest. I once purchased a book said to be in new condition and what I received was an old book damaged all the way through. I never bothered on a return based on other reviewers feedback because it just was not worth the hassle to me. I never read or picked up that damaged book so all in all a waste of time spent searching, ordering, awaiting, waste of money and excitement to receive product... complete dissatisfaction!

Surprised to see so many negative reviews. I've ordered ten plus books from this store through Abebooks over the last three years and never had any issues with packaging, damage, condition, or anything else. I continue to order from them with confidence.

They advertised a brand new book, and instead sent the Audio Book CDs. As a book collector, the CDs have zero value to me. Customer Service is a joke. Automated replies that don't answer my questions. Would never purchase from them again. Nor should you.

They sent a extremely damaged book which in the description was brand new. Now they want to give me a discount on another book so I can then have two damaged books. Then they had the nerve to offer a discount as if they are getting another penny from me. Oh and to chat with them they want you to pay $1. That's just crazy worst company ever!

I placed an order on jan 30 2022 for my girlfriend's birthday presnt that is on March 11. Today is March 10 and still no book.
Ive sent so many emails. But all you get in reply is an automated response. No actual customer service.my book has been in transit since February 16 and there is no way of finding out exactly where my order is as the tracking system does not show any thing
How you can run a business like this is an absolute joke
Its insulting to me asa customer and ive now had to get another order thats double in price. With delivery as i dont want to disappoint my girlfriend on her birthday
So take my advice.
SHOP ELSEWHERE. You wil save yourself alot of hassle from a seller that does not care

To their credit, Abe Books have now refunded what I spent on GreatBookPrices. They have not however addressed the question of the presence of GreatBookPrices on their platform.

Parasite company who point a buyer to a seller and take a large payment for doing so, which I assume the purchaser funds via an increase in price, DO NOT USE this company. Over a month since ordering & still no books. I would give a negative star rating but sadly I can't. I do not have proof of purchase as I have received nothing from them.

BUYER BEWARE! I've purchased several books from seller, ALL received in a LESSER condition than listed. Damages couldn't have occurred during shipping. For example, one book was listed as NEW; when received, the jacket had paper glued to it and pages of the book were glued to the back board, not in the binding. Another book had the back board snapped in half but stuffed inside a new book jacket. The seller was terribly unresponsive and evasive. It took numerous emails to get a partial refund. I had to fight for a full refund; they never reimbursed me for my return costs. Update: they operate as GreatBookPrices1 and GreatBookPrices2 on eBay.

Terrible customer service. Failure to respond to emails and fobbed me off with outdated, irrelevant automated replies. Supplied a tracking number that they claimed repeatedly was for Royal Mail, turned out to be Hermes who refuse to deliver to me so at that point I knew the book was never going to arrive. Over a month after my order date, and three requests for a refund later and having to involve Abe Books investigation team (who were amazing) I finally got a full refund.

No idea what kind of scam they're running but I suspect they take your money and hope that, if your book doesn't arrive, that you'll give up chasing a refund if they ignore you for long enough.

Absolutely nothing great about Great Book Prices UK. Just a great big con.

I believe this outfit is sort of a scam. I ordered a book from them thinking that they had the book in stock. Instead, they ordered the book from Australia. Do you have any idea how long it takes to get a book from Australia? In fact I may never get it. Good by $35.00.

I ordered a book and I have been waiting 20 days. After 14 days they assigned a USPS number to my order and 6 days later the USPS office is still waiting for them to deliver the book to them. Aparantly, these guys advertise books and take your money. Then they try to buy a copy from somebody else for less than what you paid for it. If they cannot find a copy they just wait to see if they can, and so do you. Eventually they either make a profit or return your money, which costs them nothing. I ordered this book through ABEBooks, they used screen their sellers but now they let anyone who pays them sell on their platform.

I ordered a book from a third party site that lists books for sale by GreatBookPrices.com, among other book sellers. My credit card was charged, and I informed the person to whom I was giving the book that it would be shipped directly to their address. The next day, I received notice that GreatBookPrices.com had issued me a refund because they had "accepted [my] order in error." What does that mean? I am a legitimate customer who made a legitimate purchase. If they are out of stock, do they plan to redo the transaction when their stock is replenished? If so, how long might that take? Naturally, there is no possible way to contact GreatBookPrices.com by phone, so I used the only available option - an online messaging widget - to send them an email. Their automated reply informed me that they'd reply within 24 hours, excluding weekends. I'm not holding my breath, and they have succeeded in sending me to a competitor for my purchase.
