Ordered from this scam company via abebooks.
Ordered on 23/08/2023.
Nothing received by 09/09/2923 so I write to chase up.
They had given tracking details that took me to a dodgey (most likely take website) that detailed:
"8/30/2023 11:21 AMShipment in Transit with ePost Global to Processing Center"
My message to them
" Hi I haven't received this item yet, the tracking details haven't updated since moving the 30th And detail: 8/30/2023 11:21 AMShipment in Transit with ePost Global to Processing Center I am somewhat confused why a it references "global processing centre" Or why a domestic shipment should take 3weeks to be dispatched. Please advise"
They responded
"Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate your patronage and your interest in our merchandise. All our orders are processed within 1-2 Business days from the day we receive them and we ship all our orders via Hermes or Whistl which usually arrives within 4-14 business days (Monday – Friday). Our records show that your order was placed on 2023-08-23 and it was shipped out 2023-08-25 which was the (2nd) business day. You will be receiving your order between, Aug 29,2023 as that is the 4th business day, and Sep 13,2023 as that is the 14th business day.

The response was instant, my copy of the message to seller, sent as email from abebooks was 10:55am on 09/09/23, the response also arrived at 10:55am on 09/09/23.
So it has to be an automated response.
I asked for tracking ref
"Are you able to provide a whistle/Hermes tracking reference?"
Sent on 09/09/23
Response received 11/09/23 (from the time stamps in the body of the email detailing receipt of my message the replied from USA time stamp EDT)
"When I check the delivery confirmation number, your order does show in transit. I understand that it can be concerning when there is lack progress shown on the carrier's website. We use a combination of private and public carriers which can create gaps in scanning events. Your order should arrive shortly.

I received the book on 13/09/23 via royal mail tracked 48hr delivery. On checking the royal mail tracking the book was only dispatched on 09/09/23 after I chased them.
Their response was all clearly lies.
I suspect they only dispatch books when you chase them. Hoping you forget and they pocket the money for nothing.
I have complained to abebooks, as the website doesn't allow you to rate experience with sellers I will no longer use that website, as they give no security as to who you are dealing with.
