I have used this program in one way or another for almost 10 years, first using it to repair my daughter's totally messed up laptop. I have found it worked reasonably for a free program.
After my Windows 7 computer when down, I purchased a new Window 10 computer and transferred files.
For some reason Windows 10 likes to duplicate folders. Since Glary utilities as a duplicate file delete function I attempted to delete over 140,000 duplicate files made my windows 10.
In the past Glary utilities would allow a user to click a key called "Check Intelligent" and bulk delete all the duplicates in two clicks. But not now.
And if you contact the company, they are quick to response in will imply the user does not know how to use the program, but will offer no solution to the problem.
File Recovery Free is not free! It's limited to 3 files but it does not tell you that anywhere! I let's you scan you harddrive for hours and then when you want to recover, it tells you that you are limited to 3 files!
This is an above average general utility program. Although, it's only advisable to run one anti-virus program. It never hurts to run more than 1 utility program, whether it's for registry, spyware, malware, and junk files. What one software application will not detect, another one usually will. I'm a fan of software programs that don't run a lot of processes and apps (this usually taxes the PC's speed, etc). However, I need to inquire about Glary's spyware detector. In most cases, when doing a scan, it usually only catches 1 or none of any spyware programs. That's usually unorthodox. In my experience, I've always had one that detects quite a few. Then the others "pick up the ball" so to speak, by catching a few more. I have given it "4 Stars" due to this one fact. But, I will email Glarysoft and find out if there's a way to heighten the sensitivity of the spyware detection. Otherwise, this is a great utilities program, 1st and most importantly, because it does not use a lot of resources in it's due process. If I get any input from the company, especially if it improves or corrects the spyware detection. I will do a quick re-review, and post it with "5 Stars"
Annoyingly there is an update like every other day. 2nd they install their Malware software without permission and it take over your computer without knowledge. LASTLY! I went to Dropbox folder to clean out pictures to make more room and when I right clicked all my Microsoft Default options such as DELETE were GONE! I uninstalled the software to get me default right click settings back and then rebooted when I noticed that my One Drive Camera Roll (CLOUD FOLDER!) was GONE! I went to Onedrive website and found the folder in Recycle bin, Clicked on restore, went into an error. I have been in contact with Microsoft for 2 weeks now. Its like this folder never existed. They have no idea what I am talking about. There were 875 pictures in that folder. Bottom Line: Glarysoft will need to be updated NONSTOP and will take over your PC. They take over your default right click options and then install malware protection software WITHOUT your permission. AVOID and definitely do NOT PAY FOR IT!
