One 'helluva business model you've got, guys. Two times, seperated by months, I attempted to put together a gift card for someone, and BOTH TIMES I was told 'Your order was not approved by our security screening process, as a result, your order will not be shipped.'
I entered everything 100% correctly. This is on your side.
Fix your system or nobody can use your service.
I give this site a one star because of one single reason. They do not honor their delivery date as stated on their web site. I paid for express delivery service (cost $33.73), which said to deliver within 5 days. But I am still waiting for the delivery after 7 days!
Bought a gift card for my kid in a different country. In no easy to find place did I see that it these cards are unusable anywhere but the U.S. Customer service number is a morass to navigate, only to be told that the refund takes 3 days for them to review, and then 6 business days to refund. So much for a Christmas present for my kid.
Just don't use them.
They sent an email saying the gift card had shipped and that I would receive a tracking number in a subsequent email. I never got the tracking info. 12 days later, the card never arrived. I called customer service. After an hour on hold, the first representative said that they had no tracking number because they never mailed the gift card. I asked to be escalated to a supervisor. Another hour on hold and the new rep tells me they use a third party shipper and therefore, cannot provide tracking information and she is unable to confirm whether it did or did not ship. What she can tell me is that they don't give refunds. Apparently, I (and the gift recipient) have to wait another 15 business days for it to not arrive before I can call back, sit another few hours on hold and attempt to get a refund. I'll definitely avoid buying gift cards here from now on.
Do not buy a gift card from giftcards.com! You will most likely get scammed. They do not have good customer service and the process in getting our money back has taken so long.
I received a visa gift card as a gift. The card can not be used at all or activated. An error comes out. There is no one available to take a call or a chat line. Because it's a 'gift' the recipient of the card becomes in the very uncomfortable position of letting the gifter know that the card they provided doesn't work. This is as fishy as it gets. Having been on the receiving end and attested for the atrocious experience, I would never ever gift of these gift cards, knowing that I may put a person I appreciate through the horrendous experience of having to redeem a useless and worthless card.
Total waste of time. Website reloaded when making a customized card several times. Finally got through the process and they charge a fee for the card, and $30 to ship USPS Express (which is 1-2 day service) but claim it takes 4-6 business days. Then they said you have to pay $5 and have somebody sign if the billing address is different from shipping. That's annoying for a gift. So I chose to mail it to myself instead of the recipient and 1 hour after I revived an order confirmation, they canceled. Joke company. Cash will work instead.
I highly recommend staying away from this company - it's a complete fraud! I ordered 14 (small amount) gift cards for a party. This first time the site didn't work properly and I had to go back 2 days later after they were done "working on it". Once I placed the order, I immediately received an email that they had cancelled it. I tried calling custome service, which gave no information or help to resolve. Just a "sorry" and they don't have any information. They also did a pre-authorization of my card and that worked just fine, so obviously they are full of crap that it was a "security issue". The rep then told me that I was free to go online a place another order - are you kidding me? I order online all the time and this has NEVER happened to me, not have I had such a HORRIBLE customer svc experience.
Customer service is awful. So thankful that they cancelled my order for security reasons? Couldn't explain why just said they do that sometimes. Huh? Then they told me to try again. No thank you! Horrible company, be forewarned. Oh and so far they haven't charged me but I will be monitoring my account closely... I should have read the reviews beforehand. Lesson learned!
We have an employee with a giftcard that has a Good Thru date of 12/31/2021. The web site states the following under FAQ's that cards don't expire and replacements are no fee. Just called customer service who informed me the card has expired and they will review but IF they do decide to send me a replacement card the fee is $14.95. Never ever again!
"Funds on Giftcards.com Visa and Mastercard Gift Cards do not expire. The expiration date listed on the front of the card (along with the CVN on the back of the card) is there to allow these cards to be processed by merchants as debit or credit cards. If funds remain on the card after the "Good Thru" date listed on the front of the card, call Customer Service to obtain a no-fee replacement card. However, gift cards that are inactive for more than 12 consecutive months will be charged a $4.95 per month service fee."
I previously used them to order multiple gift cards but the past two days I can't place an order, cant even get customer service on the phone. I would never buy from them if you could even get you order through. Maybe they have gone under or something, but after two days trying to get a card for a graduation present and no response to email nor getting through via phone, go elsewhere.
I purchased cards for my company, activated them as needed for events. After spending $2k on cards and giving out $1200 worth... they expired. No nothing, no cost you $5 to extend a year... nothing. Worthless crap, and should be illegal. I'm going to hold the cards until they change or somebody sues their pants off.
So I got caught in a scam - received a Secret Shopper check and was told to buy gift cards as a way to check customer service. I bought the cards and followed instructions to activate and photo the physical card front and back. I did so but got suspicious too late. Called AMEX Gift cards and the rep there said the card balance was now zero - the money was debited by Giftcards.com - Buyer beware - I have reported this to the FTC through the FBI. My bank said this has happened to people age 17 to 80. Never buy a gift card and send pictures of it. Never use Giftcards as they are the back half of this fraudulent scam. AMEX won't help you and your bank can't either. I'm out my $500.
The gift cards have the security codes visible so the money is gone by the time it is received - and this place should be reported to the attorney general and post office for performing a scam using the mail (my cards were delivered in the mail)
Sending a personalized Visa card with my son and his wife's photo was neat I thought
Until last night when he went to use the card. It was for $100 but at the restaurant they could only use $83 out of the $100 because of an agreement that allows for the restaurant to put a hold on the amount of the bill plus an extra 20% for the tip which would be added later. I understand this for a normal credit card, but this was a Visa gift card with a set amount. I called Giftcards.com and they blamed it on the restaurant agreement (also applies to gas stations, car rentals, etc.). I told them they should just approve the full amount of the card and let the person pay any residual balance with a regular credit card. They refused to agree - put the blame elsewhere. I will not use them again and probably not use any gift cards in the future.
My grandma bought 3 $500.00 visa gifts for christmas presents. She ordered them on Christmas day for us. She got a email on 12/28 that it was shipped. She spent over $1500 plus fees for these cards. As of 1/15/19 nothing has came... Didnt realize it took over two weeks to mail a gift card from Pennsylvania to Ohio... No response from company...
Tried to buy two gift cards on this site. Giftcards.com determined that there were invalid amounts on the cards and said that I would receive a refund for the amount. That has been over a month ago and despite two phone calls to try and resolve it, I still don't have a refund. I have now disputed the charges on my credit card so I'm sure I will get the money back thanks to my credit card company but it has been a time consuming hassle. Do not shop here, it is a scam. I'm assuming they are trying to take advantage of people who don't keep a close watch on their charges and will just pay the bill.
Ordered a $100 gift card. 6 hours later, give or take, they cancelled the order for me with no reason listed. They would not tell me why I was unable to receive the card, and they still charged me the handling fee. This was 1 simple order and all they could deliver was an unexplained refund, which they took a profit on anyways. I strongly don't reccomend this site. Just go buy an actual gift card. It's not worth going through this waste of time and apparently money.
Purchased a Visa ecard for my son who was stranded without gas. Expected it to clear in 24 hours. 24 hours later it was cancelled without explanation. Using Google wallet now so we never have this issue again. Wish I had looked at this site first!
Your order did not clear our fraud screening process. We did send an email notification of the cancellation. Thanks.
What a disappointment. When I read their eGiftCard ad, I immediately tried to purchase one. Got an immediate confirmation... followed by a denial, no explanation. I called, tried to get an understanding from management. They were not "allowed" to tell me anything. Interesting that I had just successfully purchased a different vendor's eGiftCard without any trouble. I'll never use their services again.
Answer: This happened to me also. My credit card company said they would do a fraud investigation.
