This company is absolutely a joke. I'm placing a review on any website i possibly can, people deserve to know they can't count on this company with their order ESPECIALLY NOT during the holiday season. I've been told by their website due to covid everything could take longer to process which i just think is ridiculous to begin with, this pandemic is worldwide but it is not a new thing. It has been going on for a while now and will be going on for a while afterwards. There are billions of online and offline companies that have been able to adjust their practices as needed but they still handle customers orders with care within a timely manner. I got something off of etsy the other day and it got here in 4 days. And that wasn't even from a business like this that's just shipping out from someone's home! Giftcards.com also wanted to give me an excuse that due to a high volume of orders from a promotion they were doing, it could take longer. Which one is it? They just find any excuse under the book to not ship your order out. If you can't handle a high volume of orders then why are you doing a promotion?! None of it makes sense. My order was placed on December 8th for over $300 worth of physical gift cards. My order has said "processed" NOT "processing" for about FOUR whole days now. I've contacted support and was even informed that "my order is complete and processed and i'll be notified when it ships out." THEN WHY IS IT JUST SITTING THERE. For four days? If the order is complete then ship. It. Out. It's a very simple concept. The customer service is a joke as well, the most they can do for you is track your package and give you basic information that you already knew. They have no one to transfer you to, no one to ask questions, they have NO information about your order or why it hasn't shipped or anything. However the only solution they offered me was that I could refund my order and place one for e-gift cards in order to be able to get them instantly. That's not what I wanted, I wanted physical gift cards or I wouldn't have placed the order for it. They are playing around with my $300 and it's not cool. Odds are i'll cancel and order egift cards from another place so i don't have to give these people my business ever again considering now it's too late for me to get physical ones delivered. We were supposed to play the saran wrap ball game, this has actually completely ruined our christmas. PLEASE IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT IT, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS WEBSITE. GET YOUR CARDS FROM A WEBSITE THAT WILL ACTUALLY SHIP OUT YOUR ORDER.
DO. NOT. USE. THIS. SITE. PLEASE. FIND. ANOTHER. WHO. WILL. RESPECT. YOUR. ORDER.
None because the order was never delivered.
I ordered Gift Cards for our Employees' 2017 Christmas presents. Mine was in the amount of $250 with an expiration date of 12/2018, one year away. Due to buying a new house and moving, plus a severe illness of my husband, I put the gift card aside and it got misplaced with all the moving and hospital drama going on. When I found the card earlier this year in March 2019, I noticed the one-year expiration date of 12/2018. I contacted giftcards.com to re-issue/replenish the card (minus the monthly fees). They said "Sorry, the funds have been forfeited" and apologized for my "Inconvenience". I was shocked and checked the verbiage on the Giftcards.com website. It stated the following, which I have copied and pasted directly from their site:
Question: "DO FEES APPLY AFTER MY CARD WAS PURCHASED?"
Answer: "Yes. If you do not use your Card for 12 consecutive months, we will charge a Monthly Maintenance Fee of $4.95 on the first day of each month that follows (starting with month 13) until you use the card again. At that point, we will wait until 12 more consecutive months of inactivity occur before charging the fee again. If you don't use your Card for an extended period of time, these fees may lower or even exhaust the balance of your Card before the "valid thru" date has passed. You may avoid this fee by making regular purchases with your Card. There is also a Replacement Card Fee of $5 to replace a lost or stolen Card, so please safeguard your Card. This fee does not apply to replacement of an expired Card."
Question: "DO THE FUNDS ON MY CARD EXPIRE?"
Answer: "No, the funds on your Card do not expire."
Question: "DOES MY CARD EXPIRE?"
Answer: "Your Card will no longer work when the remaining value is equal to $0 or the "valid thru" date printed on the front of your Card has passed. If funds still remain on your Card after the "valid thru" date, please call *******822 to have a replacement Card with an updated "valid thru" date issued and mailed to you at no cost. The balance on the replacement Card will be equal to the balance on your discontinued Card."
That sounded to be a perfect solution to me as I had just found my misplaced card and it was only March, 2019. Even with the fees, I would still end up with a new card balance of $225.20. So I contacted them to get a replacement, and re-load the funds, less the fees. Well guess what? All funds are GONE... $250. VAMOOSE!
They said that mine was a "Rewards" Card, not a "Gift" Card... that a Gift Card never expires, but Rewards Cards do", and that we had requested Rewards cards when we placed the original order. That is a total falsehood. Why would we give out gifts to Staff that expired in just one year, and unused funds went to the issuer, not the purchaser or the receiver? Additionally, in the state of Florida it is unlawful to cause a Gift Card that has been purchased to expire (complimentary gift/Promotional cards can legally carry an expiration date). Giftcards.com was paid the full $250 for the purchase in US Currency.
They just took the money. Out and out thievery. I have spoken now to three representatives, all who say the same thing, "IT IS A REWARDS CARD, NOT A GIFT CARD" and the money is gone, and that I should have known when I ordered them. How, please tell me, would I have known this?
I received a virtual Visa gift card from a family member through this company. The card was attempted to be used 3 different times and all times the card was declined for insufficient funds. The company says after each attempt you have to wait up to 10businessndaysnformthe money to be put back on the card. After almost a month trying to use the card I have to inconvenience my family member to dispute the charge now and have their money returned to them. Terrible customer service with call center people and managers telling me the same thing over and over and not even attempting to make the situation better. GIVE SOMEONE CASH OR BUY THE ACTUAL STORE GIFTCARD BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE.
Terrible service and customer service.
UPDATE - 8/7/2016--Despite about 10 calls, even when they attempt to fix it they cannot do it right. They twice sent the gift card TO MY EMAIL which is useless because even when I try to forward it to the recipient, it then tells her, 'your email does not match the email this was mailed to'. COMPLETELY BLOWS MY MIND THAT THIS COMPANY CANNOT ACCOMPLISH A SIMPLE GIFT ORDER i. E. differentiate a purchaser from a receiver!
1. Delivery problem--I purchased an e-gift card on a Thursday, fully expecting the recipient to receive it that night / next day, as is the expectation for e-gift cards. As of Sunday night, nothing had been delivered. I called the help line multiple times (Friday through Sunday) and the recording says, "There's a problem looking into your order, please call again at another time, goodbye" and disconnects.
2. Billing problem--the card I purchased on Thursday was still pending charges on my credit card as of Sunday night. When I finally got a customer service representative on Sunday (Walter), he said the gift card had been billed and it had been sent already--I said that was impossible, since the recipient hadn't received it, and my credit card hadn't even recognized the charge yet. He said he would do it 'a second time'--lo and behold, within 60 seconds I received a confirmation email saying the gift card had been sent to my recipient. They NEVER PROCESSED THE THURSDAY ORDER UNTIL I CALLED ON SUNDAY. What good is that for a seemingly instantaneous gift?! The ENTIRE POINT of e-gift cards is immediate delivery. What a joke. Terrible business model, terrible customer service.
3. Customer service problem--Despite at least half a dozen calls over multiple days, giftcards.com automated call center was NEVER able to recognize my inventory number and consistently hung up on me. When I finally reached a customer service rep (Walter) I spoke with him for only two minutes and then THAT call was disconnected. I called AGAIN and finally got through. It should not take nearly 10 calls nor multiple connections to receive help on an order, and if you're going to have an automated phone system to look up order numbers, then make sure it works.
4. Advertising issues--obviously this website touts itself as the 'perfect solution to a last-minute gift'. Fat chance. It took at least four days to process my gift card order and probably would have taken longer if I hadn't called and forced them to process it over the phone.
Hi guys my name is Mike and I live in Richmond, VA. I see a lot of people giving this site bad reviews so I wanted to share my good story because the company treated me great. I recently placed an order for a regular VISA gift card, not a customized one on their site for $500 and chose FedEx Priority Overnight shipping. About an hour after I placed my order they had already reviewed my credit information and processed and approved my order and like promised on their site if you order by 5pm they guarantee to ship out your gift card the following business day which they did for me. It shipped out on Monday Jan 11th, 2016 after I placed the order on Sunday night January the 10th, 2016, the only slight problem I had was the tracking number for my package they updated on Giftcards.com website was a short number and said both on their website and FedEx.com that it was an invalid tracking number and was too short and at that point I got nervous after spending $535 on the gift card and priority overnight shipping and reading other peoples reviews and problems with this website, I quickly called Giftcards.com customer service number and the girl who answered was very friendly and helpful, she informed me for some reason the tracking number that they put up on giftcards.com was incorrect and she had a different one on her computer, she gave it to me, I typed it in the FedEx website and it worked and told me the shipping information was sent to FedEx and it was estimated to be delivered by 10:30AM the following Tuesday morning, just like I paid for priority overnight shipping, perfect. Then it was in the hands of Fedex, I got a bit nervous because the tracking said it left Pittsburgh, PA and arrived in Indianapolis (which is the opposite direction of where I live in Richmond, VA) at 1:00 AM on Tuesday morning and it was supposed to be delivered by 10:30 on Tuesday morning, thankfully Indianapolis is one of FedEx's largest shipping hubs and it is an Airport facility so my package left on a plane in the middle of the night early Tuesday morning and arrived in Richmond, VA sorting facility at 7AM the same morning and then the destination facility in Mechanicsville, VA at 8AM, finally the tracking updated and said my package was on truck out for delivery at 9AM Tuesday morning. The package was guaranteed to arrive by 10:30 that morning but 10:30 rolled around and the driver was not there yet which bothered me because giftcards.com requested Fedex to have me sign for the package at the door in order for them to leave it at my house and I took off of work to wait for it. I called FedEx and the lady I spoke to was also very friendly and helpful and was able to get in touch with my local facility and informed me my truck driver left the facility an hour late at 9AM because of a late flight due to winter weather, when they normally leave at 8AM, the lady guaranteed me the driver would be at my house by 11:30AM at the latest so I waited and he actually arrived at 11AM, I signed for my package and brought it inside my house. Finally I went on Giftcards.com to activate my card and to be honest was a little nervous because of a lot of bad reviews I read about scams, but thankfully and as giftcards.com promised I was able to activate my card on their website and the full $500 was on the card and they shipped it out when they promised to and FedEx came on time in only one day overnight with the delivery. So overall I was VERY satisfied and happy with the service and product I received from FedEx and more importantly Giftcards.com, and I am happy to say I will continue doing business with this website in the future, they are a Google Trusted Online Store which is a status given out by Google informing consumers it is safe to shop with them. I recommend everyone go ahead and do business with the great people at Giftcards.com and don't get discouraged by negative reviews you may see online, once again thank you for your service and product Giftcards.com!

ME_ "I'm banned from shopping here, and you can't give me a reason"?
JEREMY (Unsympathetic Supervisor)_"Yes that's correct"...
Several weeks ago I discovered the best way to give gift cards. 'With the person's picture on it'... Great idea right. NO NO NO... Not if you have the same experience i did at GIFTCARDS.COM. I have children living at different addresses in the United States.
I sent a $100 gift card to my daughter at one address and that transaction went fine.
A few minutes later I sent 2 x $100 gift cards to my boys who are living at a different address from their sister and I got the thank you page with a confirmation number. A couple days later I noticed that I didn't get a confirmation email for that order like i did for the first order.
I checked my bank and the order was cancelled. I went through the upload and resubmit several more times but the same results. My bank said they aren't stopping the transaction giftcard.com is cancelling all the attempts.
I called and spoke to a very sympathetic Amber (customer service) who broke the news to me that my account got flagged on the second transaction because the information wasn't the same. I asked her "why would the information be the same they are two different orders...?" She said "i'm sorry there is nothing I can do"... and we are going to cancel it every time you try."
********[WTH... how bizarre and random... Right?] *******
Realizing that she was stuck I asked to speak to a manager and that was when I had the pleasure of speaking to the most indifferent person i've spoken to since my last traffic ticket, Jeffrey the supervisor.
After several minutes of the supervisor saying most assuredly that I am not allowed to shop with them anymore and that he cannot share with me why...
I told him I am going to write a review on this and i want to be absolutely sure I understand what he is saying... (read the following)
ME_ "I'm banned from shopping here, and you can't give me a reason"?

ME_ "So that's it? Even though I did nothing wrong?... and you sent through my first order just moments before?... there's isn't anyone that can help...? There's isn't a card security dept. I can talk to?... is that correct?
JEREMY (Supervisor)_ "i'm afraid so...
ME_... but I already sent screenshots to my kids with their face on their new visa cards...
JEREMY (Supervisor)... good bye..."

Giftcards.com sent a email stating my card (I'm the recipient) was on the way to my mom. The card was shipped from PA and I live in NJ. It should NOT take more than 5 days to get here if it's first class. The card NEVER arrived so we contacted their customer service. While the rep who helped us was kind (name of Skyler), he said he was suspending the one card and sending out another. My mom asked for tracking this time. He stated she'd need to be charged $4.95 for a replacement card. She asked if there was a way to remove the charge since the lost card wasn't her fault. Mind you, I NEVER have mail lost where I live. In fact, when we used this company before, a few months back, the card DID arrive, it was VERY late, it took well over 3 weeks but it did get here. This last card sent Jan 5 did not. Skyler apparently did NOT issue a new plastic card even though he informed my mom he did. When the replacement card did not arrive here and my mom never received her tracking number, I contacted giftcards.com customer service. The first rep disconnected the call as soon as I explained the situation and asked for help. While the 2nd female rep was nice, she stated she could not locate the tracking no and would need the supervisor to email it to us. We never got an email so my mom called back yesterday to find out what has happened to the new card shipment tracking number and where the card is. The rep had NO info, was EXTREMELY disorganized, confused and placed my mom on hold several times. She asked for a refund of her money and the rep informed her that was impossible and/or hard to do. This made my mother understandably upset. A well intentioned action on her part to get me money to help with my illness has turned into a NIGHTMARE!
My mother was sent an email that is confusing to say the LEAST. At first it seems to indicate that a second card was reissued and is on its way, then she states it is not and gives the option of an electronic card. I can't use an electronic online card for what i Need!
"The gift card was shipped with USPS First Class and the service does not provide a tracking number. If you would like a new gift card mailed to your recipient please contact me directly for the reissue assistance. The reissue fee is $4.95 per gift card with the additional choice of shipping or you can have the gift card converted to a virtual gift card invoice for free by providing an email address. Dial *******664 ext. 9806 Tamica and provide ticket *******. The reissue of your invoice is not completed and I will need your help for payment and shipment details if you would like a new plastic gift card sent. Thank you, Tamica
Thanks for your continued support! "

----WARNING THESE PEOPLE ARE HORRIBLE READ ON-----
(FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK THIS IS TOO LONG TO READ I'll MAKE IT SWEET AND SIMPLE--- TRIED IT OUT TO SEE IF IT WAS WORTH IT OR NOT. IT ENDED UP NOT WORKING ONLINE LIKE IT SAID IT WOULD--- IT WAS AN E-CARD AND I ACTUALLY TRIED IT IN OTHER PLACES OTHER THAN EBAY. I PAID A 4$ DOLLAR FEE JUST TO GET THE DAMNED CARD AND ON TOP OF THAT I HAD TO PAY ANOTHER 4 DOLLAR FEE JUST TO GET MY OWN REFUND ON TOP OF THAT FIRST 4 DOLLAR FEE MEANING I LOST 8 $#*!ING DOLLARS TO THEM)
I am writing to let you guys know that my experience with giftcards.com was a horrible one. While I did wanted to test it out and see how it'd work.
I ended up basically giving away 8 dollars for free just to get a refund for a card that I couldn't even use. While it was partially my fault for not doing a thorough search on their site-- or heed the warnings of the very so many warning against it's use... I will certainly say for sure they didn't have it in their customers best interest to put it right infront of them what you
I basically bought the e-card so it could act as a proxy for me so I wouldn't have to give a company called paypal my own card(very long story) anywho-- you can't use it on paypal apparently even though paypal takes all sorts of cards and is used up on ebay...
Apparently they decided to not put that in the places that accept cards. Even though their websites clearly states (unless you actually try to thoroughly look through the site) that it's basically available for use anywhere on the internet.
I ended up trying to contact them via e-mail because I don't have time to be calling people and waiting for long periods of time (I tried once already and was on hold for a very long time before I just hung up)... and still they weren't really straight to the point...
Now while I understand they're trying to run a business and protecting themselves from malicious sellers... but an original fee of 4 dollars just to get the card and then on top of that another 4 dollar fee just to get a refund? Really? I would understand keeping the original fee-- maybe. But yeah that wasn't my cup of tea.
In the end they have hundreds of bad reviews in a damned plethora of websites and I am really questioning their business ethics and how come they haven't been sued yet. Either way I am warning you guys to steer clear of them--- as well as warning my close ones and whoever asks me about my experience with them.
Also pretty sure the people giving good reviews are just $#*!s working for the company to boost it's own credentials. Just saying.
If you really want to use this website-- I would just go down to walmart get a visa giftcard (not the walmart gift card I am talking about those visa pre-paid cards that you load up and can use anywhere-- not even talking about moneydot) and buy it for 3.99! Useable ANYWHERE ---EVEN ONLINE!!!!!
