Best of the Best. You can't get a better guitar! I have been playing Gibson for years. After I learned what a difference there is in quality. Purchase from Sweetwater, ask for Grant Vitek *******700 ext. 3193. You will get the best. He will do everything to make it a perfect guitar and professional transaction!

Terrible customer service. Purchased a LP Std Exclusive Model in December '22. Returned it next day.Gibson sent me a "B stock " what they later admitted and offered 20% off - but I refused. Guitar was scratched ( see photo),bridge was unprofessionally installed, buzz all over the neck. They promised me a replacement. Never happened. Cold customer service excuses over and over. They wouldn't answer an email until you call them. I finally gave up and requested a refund after six months of waiting. Unbelievable. Beyond dissatisfaction. AD

Tip for consumers:
Gibson is just a name. They lost quality because of profit.

Products used:
Japanese. Much better quality and craftsmanship.

Just purchased a 2020 Gibson les paul standard 50's in heritage cherry sunburst aside from the guitar arriving in absolutely horrible conditions loose pointers on volume and tone knobs loose pick guard it has one of the most awfully matched maple tops I've ever seen on a guitar for $2499 this is what you get! Made in the USA use to mean something special, makes you want to buy a foreign made guitar

THE NEW GIBSON AND THE OLD GIBSON...
The new Gibson company and Live Nation is just a massive machine... I know I was on the Guitar side ( ARTIST) to them in a professional manner... Why One star. Think... Go to Walmart and buy a dress shirt but be charge a Beverly Hills Price for the Badge ( Gibson) after people saw me perform live. They would go buy a Gibson Les Paul and then tell me their stories... Some good mostly not... like I said think Walmart
Most of their Guitars now are made over sees. Except the custom shop in Nashville Tenn. The giant cookie cutter machines...but with very talented people still working for them and thats their snap.So no i would not recommend the new guitars for the insane price tag.
The old Gibson 80's and early years company is a totally different animal. They kicked but and everyone knew it...
They lead the industry until the 90's but look at the real old price of the guitars. Its not just a collector its a way different Guitar in so many ways... its like the 1968 ford bronco every ones loves and the new one every one hates... Its not just a collector thing it is a piece of $#*! thing...
So many way better guitars now for the money and thats just sad...

Do your home work

A long history of very uneven quality, excessive pricing and arrogance are killing this company. Barely avoided bankruptcy again in 2018 after a massive overexpansion into areas that have nothing to do with their business, a cash grab that failed miserably. This while their actual business sits ignored and withering badly.

Just when they needed some positive news they released that "Play Authentic" video which was a threat not even thinly veiled. A threat against not only competitors but customers over bogus "trademark infringement" claims which when they tried to push it through the courts their &$$ was handed back to them with a side of mint sauce. That had the opposite effect of increasing sales and destroyed the tiny bit of goodwill they had left. Now this company is the laughing stock of the industry.

Their attention to detail seems to be declining more and more each year, while the price goes up and up. If you buy a new Gibson, whether it be a low end model or high end model, be prepared to spend more money having the fretwork done and set up b/c they dont play very good at all straight from the factory. The look good, and have good hardware, but the attention to detail just isnt there. You can buy alot nicer guitars for less money.

I guess everybody likes something different. Especially when it comes to guitars. I've always liked Gibson guitars. To me they are a sort of Land Rovers of guitar world. Yes, the company today may not be the same as it was a couple decades ago, but this is what happens, times change, nothing stays the same. The build quality is still there, the sound is still there, just slightly different.

I was gonna buy an RV for my family and travel the country in it. But I'm sure they will be a lot happier if I buy a Gibson guitar.
They (Gibson) need to understand that musicians are poor people. So them thousands of dollars for one guitar is pretty counterproductive, if you ask me.
Gibson has also seemed to focus less on quality and more on money. They poop out a lot of guitars but they're not making much quality of guitars. They have shifted to quantity, while sacrificing quality. They have shifted to profits, while sacrificing the robustness in their guitars. For the most famous guitar company, Gibson is going far downhill.
I had a Gibson. I fetched up the money to get myself a nice Gibson guitar. But boy, was I disappointed. The fretwork was terrible. Let me just say I bought a used Danelectro that came in better shape than my brand new Gibson. Oh, and the Danelectro was only $430. This Gibson was tenfold that.

Back in the good old days these guitars were amazing. Now they're just another overpriced cashgrab. You've ruined Flying V's design forever.

I've got a CL20s I believe the model is called. It's from 97, arched back, Sitka spruce of course. It's the precursor to the songwriter edition. Excellent Acoustic electric... I wish it had a Fishman pickup however to adjust tone and volume, rather than just a passive, an active system would have been so much better

It seems that since the death of the great Les Paul, Gibson's whole tone has taken a divebomb for the worst in my opinion. No, Gibson, I don't need a firebird with a thousand buttons that do nothing for my down to earth blues style playing. I also don't need to pay five thousand dollars for that guitar. I just want a high quality, simple, guitar.

Hmmm, where to start? Well, I can start by saying that I am not much of a fan of Gibson to begin with, so this review may be biased. Or I am more of not a fan of what they HAVE become, which, in my defense, is also alot of other people. But besides that, the site is very sleek, with a modern look, but it does not feel like Gibson. The site looks very organized, but is also very slow, and clunky at times. The front page showcases the new age "Gibson's" (completely bastardized versions of their classics, with alot more buttons). There are also various artist interviews and videos. What truly concerns me is how they decide to hustle their classic guitars to the back of the site. I had to shuffle through pages and pages just to find a classic Les Paul! And in their defense, the quality is still there, they have just run off the beaten path. I hope they decide to go back to their old soul, because as of now, Les would not be proud.

I have had so many guitars. But after I bought my first Gibson I played just this instrument. Why? Cause it's the best one. It sounds amazing. And I feel totally comfortable while playing it. Gibson is my love (hope, my girlfriend won't read this).
