FreezeCrowd

I felt this site was great in the sense that it is what Facebook used to be before it was available to the general public, a university student and alumni exclusive service. It is a niche that has been deserted by Facebook I feel and this site has the potential to really grow in the niche and connect again with students who are finding Facebook to be increasingly invasive. I don't agree with any negative comments, I think it manages to connect people together in a more simple format than Facebook (which has become too cluttered) and this works very well. The only minor gripe I have with it is that not many people know about it yet but hopefully this will change soon. I see ideas like this as a great future middle ground between Facebook and Twitter.

I was a little apprehensive about signing up for another social media site. But after some convincing, I finally chose to create an account and explore the site. FreezeCrowd makes it incredibly easy to update your profile with only the information that you are comfortable sharing, as opposed to constantly pressuring you to update your relationship status or tell the world how many cities you've lived in. Also, the name itself of the site makes it clear what FreezeCrowd's overall goal is: breaking the ice. My experience with other social media sites is that liking or following or friending someone can be very distant and awkward at times. FreezeCrowd effectively takes away these nerves with its lighthearted approach to meeting new people.

FreezeCrowd is a website that allows college students and alumni to connect and share memories with their classmates and others all across the globe. FreezeCrowd not only offers its users an opportunity to network, but it also gives way for its users to find that special someone. Users are allowed to tell whether or not they are interested in dating, friendships, relationships or if they are here strictly for networking. The user-friendly website delivers easy-to-use controls for those who are familiar with any social network, and easy to learn for those who are not. Bringing global communication and college networking together, FreezeCrowd is certainly a tool that all college students need to have, and with the right amount of publicity, FreezeCrowd has the potential to be a top-tier social network in the coming years.

I recently found out about FreezeCrowd, and tried it out because to me, the most important part of social networks is posting and looking at photos. And I like FreezeCrowd! It's super photo-centric, and you can "freeze" photos and connect with people that way. It's also super user friendly and intuitive, which is great. I don't want to have to read a manual to use a fun site. It's also great that the members are all college students/alumni.

Freezecrowd is a new social networking site for university students worldwide. Once signed up (which, by the way, is completely FREE), you can connect with your peers in an informal yet focused setting.

Less 'business-like than LinkedIn, Freezecrowd provides the perfect balance between work and play. You can add friends, immediately see others studying at the same institution as you, upload photos and tag friends in yours.

It really is the perfect place for students to connect. Break the ice - it's well worth it.

I liked the site because, unlike Facebook, it is easier to get to meet college students from anywhere. The whole point of the site is to break the ice using the things you have in common which could be movies, books, favorite actors/actresses, etc. The only thing is the site isn't big enough yet. There aren't that many users from CA. I would recommend this site just because you can make invaluable connections with people all over the US and you never know what kind of opportunities can arise from that. :)

I just joined FreezeCrowd.com, a new social site for college students. Before I even finished setting up my profile, I already had three people in my network. I think FreezeCrowd. Com is going to be THE place for college students to meet, mingle and collaborate. There are several different categories of interests and activities that you can add to your profile in order to be matched with suggested friends, from what school you attend to what kind of hobbies you enjoy. What a great way to meet new people in your area that go to your same school and share the same interests. Looks like it's going to be a LOT of fun.
