I've spent hours of my time on top of thousands of dollars on hiring from a variety of sites like Upwork and Fiverr. NONE OF THEM compare to FreeeUp... not even close!
FreeeUp is a marketplace for freelancers that actually values both parties. Their VAs are highly qualified, phenomenal at communication, and (honestly) more organized than I am!
I'll never look anywhere else when hiring again. Thanks to Nathan and the FreeeUp team for providing such a killer platform
Pros:
- You don't have to pay to apply for a job.
Cons:
- Low hourly rates available, very few offers with rates above $15 per hour.
- Very few offers available.
- Very long interview process. Overall, it might take hours to go through their chats, videocalls, etc. But then 99.9% of the clients are not being serious about offering a job and most of them are not even legit, most of them are startups or sidehustlers. They almost never come back to you or it takes them so long to "think about it", that when they do come back, you're already busy with other projects (that you received from other, more trustworthy platforms) Overall, it takes so much time to just go through this interview process, that it's not even worth the effort.
- I've been using this platform for over two years with zero complains from my clients. Then all of the sudden they simply blocked my access without even notifying me in advance. They explained to me, that because I have a Russian passport, they have to stop working with me out of fear of further sanctions from the US government, etc. etc. Even though I don't even live in Russia! They answered me that in order to stay on the platform, I will have to submit an application using an ID of a different country. Like, seriously? Are you really asking me to change my citizenship just to stay on your platform? Their email to me was full of hypocrisy and discrimination.
Overall, I would not recommend this platform to anyone. There are far better platforms out there.

I've been a working, professional, freelance copywriter for over 20 years and have an extensive portfolio. I'm sorry to report that in the three months I've been registered with FreeUp, I have not received what I would regard as a single legitimate client referral. The 'clients' have all been either flakes or no-shows. ALL. OF. THEM. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a fake-it-til-you-make-it startup. Maybe another Theranos.
Nathan and the Freeeup team truly care about your projects success. They are attentive and make sure the hiring/payment process is painless.

I learned of FreeeUp by chance and I'm glad I did. It came at a time when I needed to temporarily fill the shoes of a long term employee that left my company. I brought on a VA for one of my businesses and they have been great and a tiny fraction of what an employee would cost. If you are a business owner considering hiring a freelancer or VA through FreeeUp I highly recommend you do. It will leverage your time and give you insurance if you have traditional employees. Nathan and his assistants are immediate in their response whenever I have a request or a question. 5 Stars service all around.

Never have I ever been so well taken care of and guided as a freelancer, as everyone knows a freelancer does everything on their own. But with Freeeup, it's different. All the assistants are helpful and engage to freelancers as much as they do for clients as well.
Freeeup is the freelancer marketplace I go to get any specialist help I need for my company. I tried them for the first time a couple of years ago, and now have a "portfolio" of Freeeup specialists that I can trust to get my trickiest and most time-critical work done. These are all people that would be hard to find, and I know that when I contact Freeeup I do get someone who knows what they are doing and they are reliable. They tend to offer you 2-3 people to speak with and choose from. The hardest part of using them has often been choosing between great candidates.
I've had a fantastic experience using the Freeup platform. They fully vet all potential hires for you, so you know you're going to be working with someone who is reliable, knowledgeable and competent from the start. No time wasted. My freelancer has proactively gone out of his way to come up with ideas and strategies to help my business outside of what I initially hired him for. Truly above and beyond!
They also have an incredibly attentive and easy to reach customer service team, so if you need anything or have an emergency, you literally have support at your fingertips. You can even reach Nathan and his top assistants directly via Skype if you need them.
Overall it's been a great experience and I've recommended it to many entrepreneur friends.
