Bought the Fitbit Charge 5 recently. The sleep tracking feature has been a revelation for me. It's helped me understand my sleep patterns better. The battery life is impressive, but the strap could be more comfortable.

I'm on my FOURTH Charge 5 in two years...that's right...4th. And again, as the other 3 did...it has died. This time, in a "record" one month and 7 days. I just bought this one July 7th (delivered 12 July through Ebay). And after a lengthy call to "Customer Support" (that's a BIG misnomer), I got an email tonight telling me they won't warranty the slightly more than one month old device...because I bought it through Ebay.

Anyway, definitely some kind of HUGE quality control problem As I went thru 4...and my wife is on her second one (yep, first one died after about a year).

I've had enough...moved on to another brand I bought on Amazon.

DO NOT BY A FITBIT CHARGE 5, and if you're foolish enough to do so...then don't buy through Ebay or any other place they say they won't warranty your purchase. Best bet, STAY AWAY FROM FITIBIT...

I recently upgraded from a Charge 4 to a Charge 5. I track my heart rate by looking at the device after each lap of swimming. While that was easy to do with my Charge 4, I can not do that with the swim lock feature turned on with the Charge 5. If the swim lock feature on the Charge 5 is not turned on while swimming the Charge 5 jumps around while swimming. This is very frustrating and has taken away one of the fitness features I really counted on.

I walk my dog in the forest for about 2 km, which takes me 40 minutes. Fitbit calculates my average walking speed as 34 miles/hr.
Retailer requires me to contact Fitbit. Fitbit does not reply to emails, phone calls are only via call centers who are useless.
My Fitbit is expensive rubbish.

Do not buy fitbit
August 18, 2023

I had a charge 5 and it was totally working. They sent out an update and this totally blacked out my screen. This broke all the devices of all users and they don't want to be responsible for it. I suggest not to support fitbit from now on even if I was using it for the past 5 years

Make it make SENSE!
August 14, 2023

I am utterly disappointed in Fitbit and their products! I received an email to replace my Ionic last year. I followed the procedures and received my Sense replacement. I received the face and had to wait a few extra weeks for the bands in order to actually wear the device. I had to replace my band within a few months because the notch broke. A year goes by and all of a sudden the screen pops off. I did not hit anything or bump any thing but the face was just hanging on by a wire. I contacted support and they informed me that my warranty had just expired! I had to pay for an extended warranty in order to get the screen replaced. I did so because I actually like my Fitbit Sense! This happened in May. Here it is 3 months later and now my Sense is stuck in a reset loop. I followed the steps in the forum and even contacted customer service (who was very rude and condescending) and they tried to walk me through different steps with NO luck. I was informed by Thomas that I have to wait for the email to follow the steps on replacing my Sense. I get the email and get this...It's NOT in warranty so they want me to pay 35% off the retail price to replace the replacement! Also, to add insult to injury I contacted the extended warranty place that Fitbit uses, Square Trade, and they also informed me that I had to pay ANOTHER deductible to replace the replacement that was just replaced 3 months ago! If this isn't a money scheme I don't know what is! I am beyond disappointed in Fitbit, their products and their customer service (oh, I forgot to mention I was disconnected from the chat with Marie Antoinette before I called directly!) I was a loyal customer for several years (5+) and have owned multiple devices. After this year, I will NOT be purchasing another product from them!

Crap:
August 12, 2023

Around 2020 I bought an Ionic only to be told a couple of years later that it was recalled. Months later, I still haven't heard back. In the meantime, I bought a Versa 4 only to find out it the app doesn't download to my phone (Samsung) nor my laptop or Surface Pro. In short, my experience with Fitbit has been a total waste of time and money. Similarly, the helpline has been a waste of time too. DO NOT buy a fitbit -- total garbage.

I bought a Fitbit versa 4 as an upgrade from my 3, it didn't work, had none of the same features. The shipping took way too long I had 2 day shipping and I didn't get it till a week and a half later. The customer service was horrible, they don't listen or solve problems. They don't do what they say they're going to do. They don't refund when they say they will. I was emailed about getting a credit note and it's been 3 weeks and still nothing. They literally do nothing but lie and not be helpful.

Trash. Stay Away. Juan, Roi Von, is it even worth naming the service agents? You will not get a refund. Just stay away from this demonically useless company. It's a criminal organisation just like many others. But $ and corruption is all you need to be a criminal.

Dealt with Fitbit for six weeks on trying to get a replacement for the defective Alta HR I returned to them. Said they're replacement then heard nothing for after I had to call them. Then nothing for two more weeks. Called and they said they had cancelled the order but I would have to go to another site for the reason. Went to the other site and they wouldn't give me a reason. Then got an email stating they were having difficulty processing the request and would send an email when shipped. They won't and I really don't care at this point. I have never had a more disgusting experience with any customs service department. I'm now going with Garmin. Screw Fitbit!

Bought my first fitbit and the band broke at the watch so that it could not be replaced…shortly after my very limited warranty, husband bought me a fitbit charge…and again shortly after my warranty expired it stops holding a charge. I would not recommend these products to anyone…unless you have more money than brains and enjoy buying disposable watches every year. You've lost our business. Do better.

Very poor quality
July 30, 2023

Have owned many fitbit trackers in my family and there is one common observation. They hardly ever last one year. Fitbit warranties for a year and they do a good job of honoring that warranty. However, replacements don't last long either and at the end of a couple of years you need to buy a new one.

Time to start looking at alternatives to Fitbit for my family.

My charge 5 died suddenly. Just working at my desk, noticed I rexieved a text, but my fitbit didn't alert me. Screen won't work, won't sync to phone. Nothing helps, tried to reset as per fitbit. Tried charging it for hours even though it was almost fully charged this morning before it bit the dust. Customer service is useless! It's not covered under warranty apparently. Barely a year old. Save your money and get an Apple watch, Samsung or Garmin. I will NEVER waste monet on a fitbit ever again. Once upon a time their products were of quality. Now just cheap crap!

I was forced to give up my Ionic Fitbit that worked perfectly, and unfortunately I replaced it with the Fitbit Sense. Nothing but trouble has ensued: The Heart Rate is consistently off, the Sleep tracker is sporadic at best, and the sp02 oxygen sensor never works. Fitbit/Google knows these watches are junk, yet they fail to provide support and correct the bugs. I'm turning off my Fitbit account and will NEVER buy from them again.

I've had a Fitbit since 2018 and purchased the new Sense in 2021. I had to get the sense replaced two times, and it has now died on me for the 3rd time. I spoke to the Fitbit customer service representatives and they couldn't do anything for me but offer me a 35% discount on a brand-new one... NO WAY!
I'm not wasting my money on their garbage devices anymore. It's glitchy and lasts a year, if that.

Worst after care team. Had to repeat my email address numerous times. Had Fitbit watch 8 months and plastic bit that joins strap broke. They didn't want to know. Argos replaced it no hassle.

Faulty devices
June 7, 2023

I have a fitbit I bought 2 years ago - it stopped working within an year and got warranty replacement. The replacement also stopped working within less than a year and now they wouldn't give me replacement cause it's not under warranty.

Absolutely looting customers by designing devices that are meant to work only for an year so that they can make the customers buy them again. WILL NEVER EVER buy one again nor ever gift it to anyone. I don't understand how they will sustain in the business for too long with such cheap tactics.
