Nice people but a lack experience as a professional charter. I would not go out again.
We were able to get on a schools of Ribbon fish which was a new experience for me and our gang. We also caught Spanish mackerel and a few blues. We were doing great until the Coast Guard made us move three miles to clear a live ammo exercise. Regardless, it was good day of fishing thanks to Captain Shawn. Thanks for a great time.

These people are terrible, CAPTAIN gets your security deposit no matter what he does, late, no show, hungover, rods thrown in a pile, suppose to be a trip with the CAPTAIN and me and my wife. Another man shows up driving his boat at 0750, late! The CAPTAIN is a wreck, use your imagination! Didn't feel safe at all, but fishing booker preaches safety and we violated the CAPTAINS policy! Lol! DO not book with this company, they should be sued! Do not use Terry Martin!

This is because both captains and customers rely on us to keep a level playing field and make sure that all trips are run safely and legitimately. In this case, the captain reached out to us when you cancelled your trip and let us know that you weren't happy with the boat you'd be fishing from. However, it matched the boat that he advertised on his description.
When it comes to another man driving your captain's boat, the captain explained to us that this was his deckhand, who was simply preparing the boat and was not going to be on the trip with you. Due to the nature of their business, a lot of captains rely on deckhands and mates to do these kinds of tasks so that they can focus on their customers and run trips smoothly.
We sympathize with you but, in this case, found that the captain did not breach any terms and conditions. Therefore, we need to follow through in accordance with the captain's cancellation policy, which means that the deposit will remain with the captain.

Salmon weren't biting but Wade took us to a great spot to catch sturgeon and put us on the fish right away. Very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend

I booked a trip through Fishingbooker, what a nightmare. My Captain Jay of the Mariah in Kona was the
Worst. Please read his bad reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp. (Fishingbooker hides his bad reviews at the end hoping you dont go that far... like me) Dont ever book with Captain Jay! I left a poor review, that Fishingbooker wont post but Jay replied with a whole list of lies. Thats what made me call the Fishingbooker. They didnt care and they dont care and they take down my reviews. They take down all bad reviews. They dont care about the product they are selling or how horrible their Captains are.
If you insist on using Fishingbooker, Do a lot of review searching because unless you hunt you wont find the truth on their site. I tried to give no stars above, but they wont let you.

Once again, I’m very sorry that you had a bad experience with Captain Jay. I understand that the inability to repost a review on our website left a bad taste in your mouth, so I will try to explain why this happened.
We care deeply about giving our customers’ a platform to share their experience. To do this, we send review invitations to every customer that completed their outing with us. Our only requirement is that they’ve actually completed a trip. This ensures that the reviews are genuine and that the review process is fair to both captains and customers.
As you might recall, when you posted your review through our invitation, it was visible on the website. It was only after your complaint about the captain’s response that we removed the review for you. Sadly, editing and reposting your original review wasn’t an option after that point.
We understand how important it is to be able to share your experience. Transparency is important to us, which is why we want to thank you for posting this review.
As far as the trip itself is concerned, we understand that you and Captain Jay saw your outing differently. It seems that the one thing you both agreed on is that you requested to cut the trip due to seasickness.
In such cases, customers are in breach of their captains’ cancellation policy, so they normally forfeit their payment to the captain. We forward the customers’ deposit to the captain, and this compensates them for blocking out the date and preparing the supplies and equipment.
Seeing as your experience up until that point wasn’t positive, we decided to make an exception and refund your deposit. We hope that you’ll see the additional credit amount we awarded your account as a gesture of goodwill.
Lastly, the quality of our product and of our service is a high priority for us at FishingBooker. When it comes to the quality of the guides we advertise, our Legal team conducts detailed credentials checks for every single captain that lists with us. We’re proud to say that we’re the largest registry of licensed fishing guides in the world.

FishingBooker allowed for direct messaging with the captain, showed available dates, pricing, etc. However, I would like there to be app integration, more instant booking (I had to wait over an hour+ at times just to be told "No Availability" when it clearly says available per the website, I like the weather reports (I had one captain constantly try to reschedule my trip), and more options for credit card payments prior to getting to the docks. Also, I believe each boat/captain should have a mandatory "meet the charter" video on their page rather than a picture of their boat(s) and customer uploads.

We completely understand how important it is to have set plans when you’re on vacation. Currently, over 70% of trips booked on FishingBooker are booked through our Instant Book feature.
The rest are typically reservations that come in on a day or two notice. For those trips, some captains like to have the flexibility to check their schedules before confirming their availability. I know that this is not ideal when you’re already in town and waiting for a confirmation. We are working on several features that will allow captains to automate their availability, so thank you for pointing out the importance of this.

Using fishing Booker is and has been a good experience.
In fairness to the experience, we were asked if we wanted to go for Mahi Mahi and larger fish which we chose. They offered to go after smaller fish.

Captain Jon-Paul is a most knowledgeable and accommodating boat captain. For my buddy and me our primary interest in our 4 hour afternoon voyage was catching tarpon and some eating fish. He got us to areas where the bites kept coming, but the tarpon were elusive. We did catch a 4 foot nurse shark, and several other smaller fish. A good time was had by all. I would definitely recommend Captain Jon-Paul.
