It's a basic fax web site, allowing you to send documents from uploads without needing a fax machine. However, you can't delete your credit card number on their web site. They say their account cancellation function doesn't work, so submit a ticket. Nearly two weeks after I submitted a help ticket to cancel the account, nothing had happened. I called their 24/7 customer service on a Saturday morning and I talked to a live person. I requested "Cancel" and a man from India tried to give me a "Better Offer." I had to repeat, twice, "CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. If my credit card is charged again, I will submit a fraud complaint to American Express, Better Business Bureau, and the Federal Consumer Protection Agency.
I had no idea these thieves were still charging my card until I lost it and they sent me an email saying my payment didn't go through. I also signed up for the "free" trial which they charged me for anyways. I talked to some guy in India who repeatedly said I got no proof of cancelling, where was the confirmation number?, of course I got no money back.
STAY AWAY
Tried to cancel the account and they charged $9.99 even before the month. I called and a guy from India said sorry no refunds. I explained I signed for a free trial. He said again sorry no refunds.
It's really a scam to make it so hard to cancel they make 70b out of you before you can cancel suggest you use other providers that are more ethical and honest
I found the service to be ok, but when I didn't need them anymore I literally couldn't cancel the service. (If anyone has, I'd love to hear how). I ended up having to call my bank and put a stop payment on future billings because the 2 paths through the phone system both ended in dead ends with a recording option that they never respond to. (You can't cancel online or through email) Because of how hard it was, I ended up not doing it and they got over $100 from me for 6 faxes, but that's my fault for not calling my bank sooner.
Customer service takes forever and makes you go through several phone tree options. Hung up on twice after being on hold 10 minutes without them dating a word. When I finally got through, there were communication issues because the rude guy was from India and wasnt helpful. The website is a joke. I cannot login to fax.com and see the entire fax, just the preview. Its supposed to be emailed and it wasnt. I called to ask him to email it to me and he didnt understand what I was asking him to do. This is so frustrating because my work orders come through on fax and without being able to see them, I cannot help my customers, which hurts my business. I HATE this company
Chris,
Based on our earlier conversation, I would like to take a moment to summarize my displeasure. Fax.com "offers" a "free trial" but does not allow the consumer to cancel in any way. The website offers no phone number, but does have a link to "cancel my account." Unfortunately, clicking on it does NOT cancel the account, but generates an email to be sent with a "link" to cancel. Unfortunately again, the link is just a dummy link and errors out. I finally was able to get your phone number from my debit card statement. You have stolen $90 from me and as of today have only offered to refund 9.99 of it. Amazingly, I just received an email with a link to a "survey" about your "customer service." That link is also a dummy link that just errors out. I wish that link actually worked because I would like to tell you how dissatisfied I am that you have stolen from me. More proof that fax.com is a scam company. I will be reporting you to the better business bureau and copying and pasting this review on every website I can find.

DO NOT USE! Impossible to cancel... You must speak to someone in order to cancel and they make this almost impossible
Repeated requests to cancel my account, and cannot get ahold of anyone and the link to cancel doesn't work. Now in the process of going through my bank to get the fraud to stop!
Disgusting!
I opened support tickets & called them to cancel my account. They kept charging me and I am in the process of calling my bank and changing my card. I am not even sure how legally they can do this. They should be shutdown. Scammers
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT AND THEY REFUSE TO DO IT AND CONTINUE CHARGING ME. THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD.
I am a contractor that deals with lots of customers. To keep the business moving in our every changing media, some customers still use and request faxes or efaxes. I signed up to try and speed up the process to work mobilely more. What happened when I sent the messages 90% of the time was garbled digital information, which is the best description that I can give for what I was sent back from the customer. Unfortunately with the poor service I had to deal with their inability or possibly scamming in not canceling their service properly. Beware.
Like everyone else, I had cancelled but I am still getting charged. I used the service once and cancelled after, but was still being charged. Stay far away, this is a terrible company.
It was a year before I realized they just kept taking $10 out of my credit card every month! So I called and canceled and they sent me a confirmation of the CALL (not the cancelation) and continued billing me! I realized this another four months later and called AGAIN and they sent me the same PHONE CALL confirmation AGAIN. I insisted on the CANCELATION IN WRITING.
They just kept passing me from agent to agent, each one asking me to stay on and try the cheaper subscription, no matter how many times I told them I would NEVER pay them another dime! Finally they sent the written cancelation, but it said there would be no refunds and that they could still bill up through a certain date. That certain date was not disclosed!
I then called my credit card and said NOT ANOTHER PAYMENT TO THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY! They said they'd take care of it. They also said, though, that the company might still try to bill me using a different name, so I had to look out for that on every future credit card statement.
Like I said, EVIL ROTTEN-TO-THE-CORE COMPANY!
This company makes it nearly impossible to cancel your subscription. It has to be their strategy to make customers miserable when they try to cancel. I cancelled my subscription via email - following their process - almost FOUR days later I received an email back fro customer service saying I needed to call to cancel "to confirm" that I really did want to cancel. What a joke. So I called after an eternal hold. But they continued to charge. Today I finally spoke to someone who said they would cancel but would not refund the extra months I'd been charged. Said I needed to provide proof that i called. So very sad that people continue to do business this way. This company should be ashamed of their practices.
I did not sign up for fax.com but tried their free one time service - unknowingly- it was a trial. I too was charged for a year. They are not a reputable company. Reputable companies email you to say "welcome to this service". STAY AWAY from Fax.com
I signed up for a free trial only to see a hold on my Checking account for $19.98. To cancel you have to chat with their customer service reps. I explained that I should not have been charged, but they said I was legitimately charged. So I cancelled and asked for a refund, but they said only $9.99 was refundable. The rest was to set up an account. However, this fact is not stated anywhere when you are actually setting up an account. The only reason I imagine they are in business is from the hundreds of people signing up and getting charged an non-refundable $9.99. Please do not use FAX.com.
Many of us have different online services we subscribe to and it is difficult to track. Any reasonable online service provides you with a monthly renewal notice -
Fax.com has a dreadful business model - don't provide a great service just don't tell your customers about their auto renewal. Hope you're out of business soon.
Signed up for a trial and then was renewed for months without realizing it. When I finally contacted them to cancel and ask for at least a partial refund they refused. Total crap! Avoid this company!
I wanted to send a fax, but didn't realize I was signing up for an ongoing service. I paid $9.99 for two months before I noticed the charge on my checking account. Then I logged in to the site and couldn't find any way to cancel, so I went to the contact page and sent them an email asking for cancellation and a refund of the bill I'd just paid. My email was dated Feb. 14. I received a return email on March 8, explaining that I could only cancel by calling customer service. Oh, and by the way, another month had been billed. So now I've paid 40 dollars for one fax. I am currently on the phone with a customer service rep who seems to be talking on the cheapest phone headset ever made. And she keeps telling me she can't hear me. I've been on hold at least four times, for over a minute each time. I think we may be getting close to cancelling the account, although getting a two-month refund is probably going to require another 20 minutes on the phone. Right now, my phone shows me that I've been on this call for over 19 minutes (and still on hold).
Answer: Yes there sure are! And I've already had to contact customer service with my new company AND THEY GOT BACK TO ME VIA EMAIL WITHIN 7 HOURS! I highly recommend SR Fax!
Answer: It is nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone willing to help. I have tried for months to cancel my account.
Answer: This company is a total scam. They make it next to impossible to cancel your account and there is no way to remove your credit card information. After NUMEROUS attempts I was finally able to get someone on their online chat (after having called, emailed, and opened tickets) who said he would cancel my account.
