Fafsa

Have had to fill this form out three times in one sitting, as every time I try to save it does not save. Says application saved every time and then when I get to signature I sign with my ID and it says incorrect. I was literally afraid to close out this last time, but had not choice because my hotspot is limited. I logged back in to make sure, and yep, greeted with "You don't have any cases or applications". I love school, but I might just get a job and stop going if this is how it is. I feel as empty as this bottomless f******* form right now.

As a software designer for 25 years, I have to say this site is terrible, for many reasons. If there was a user acceptance test done, the users were paid to just say "fine, I guess". The number one reason is that when something goes wrong, it won't tell you what is wrong. It just gives you a generic error that says something was wrong with some information you entered, and sends you back to the very beginning page, where you find that your student's name, birthday and serial number have to be re-entered. I got sent back to the start six times, and I'm an IT expert. One of the issues was that one of the accounts needed to sign the form at the end had an expired password, which is a normal thing since you only use the site once a year. There's no good reason for it not to tell you that's the problem, but instead it just gives you the generic error and sends you back to the beginning again. Ridiculous.

I talked to representative Brittany. I had gotten a web error message trying to sign the application. She suggested my student to DELETE the application and start for new. There is no way to delete the application but only correct it. She gave me completely inaccurate information. 5 min later I contacted the online chat again and got told by another rep that the website is having problems and suggested not to delete the application. What a joke customer service this website has. I would give 0 stars if I could.

This site sucks more balls than Anderson Cooper. Horrible. Terrible. Crap.

As a parent who has to fill this out every year it would be a better destination to send felons like Jeffrey Epstein than any penitentiary.

I talked to one representative. Her name is Meghan, and she was so disrespectful to me and my mom. She would not listen to our concerns, answer our questions, or find someone who knew the answer. In addition, she yelled at my mom and found it important to repeat the same information after we already told her that we understood. FASFA application is already complicated enough. I hope there are more customer friendly representatives in the future. The application is so unnecessarily hard

I don't know if the financial aid dept is aware of this. But, it would be great if someone would post alerts about this website:

Like MOST college students, I am in a hurry and everything is done at the last minute. Let me add, I am a struggling mother of two as well. So, I typed "fasfa" in the Google search field (http://www.google.com/). The first thing that popped up was: www.fasfa.com. After several unsuccessful attempts to login, I called them. I should have known something was up when they answered on a Saturday evening. After giving her my SS#, first & last name & e-mail address, she tells me about how they are a company that I can pay $99 to look over my fasfa. AGAIN -----> STRUGGLING COLLEGE STUDENT! The main problem GOOGLE has this joke of a site listed as the FIRST option when someone is looking for the fasfa.

Now this company has my e-mail address & my ss#.

This is my second time filling out a fasfa and ever time I have a lot of trouble! They ask for signatures but every time I go to do it it says we are having technical difficulty try again later or the ssn doesn't match like really. I know it matches and when I go to change my information I can't because it says I have to wait 3 days for the ss office to make sure everything is right well I can tell them if it's right or not it doesn't take 3 days to do that! I'm so sick of it it makes me want to just not even try to get it!

Useless customer setice ever lol. Feeling like talking to a brick of wall. Literally not listening to my problem and keep repeating the same useless garbage instead of trying to figure out the problem.

Department of Education can't make a functional website with three years notice. Schools are asking me to submit FAFSA by January 15th deadline for best chances of support. FAFSA shows "in review" and it took me one week of daily attempts to even enter the data. No schools have received my completed FAFSA. Shame on DoE.

I wanted to go back to school to complete my degree and I called fafsa to figure out my financial aid situation. They told me my old debt was forgiven after many calls to them to help me so that I could continue schooling. They literally congratulated me and told me my debt was forgiven. After, they said I have to pay thousands in interest and I did. Turns out, they never forgave the debt and now I'm 36k more in debt because I went back to school. Fafsa kept giving me the run around and telling me that my debt was forgiven even after my school called them several times. UAS was involved. They all lied. Now I can never walk at graduation or get a physical copy of my degree. It is stressful. I know I'm stupid for paying interest but when did government organizations start getting the approval to lie and scam people out of thousands.

This is one of the reasons it will waste your time. I tried to contact them through all means necessary such as phone number, email, and live chats and still can't get through. WASTE OF MY TIME. It feels like it is a calling for me not to even dream of getting a BACHELORS DEGREE.

It has taken 3 days to create a FAFSA ID! What! How is that even possable! At evey turn there are issues! It won't recognize my email! It won't recognize my High School! It won't recognize my SS#! When you call they say just hit next and it should work... ummm nope it doen't then they say we are experiencing technecal difficulties try again later. I could possible believe this but there are 5 older siblings in my family and all have had lots of issues with this horrible site. I would not even fill this out if I didn't have to for my Regents Scholorship! Worst run site ever!

I'm on the verge of getting kicked out of school because of these bozos! The level of unprofessionalism is the worst ever. I worked so hard to get to this point and it's all about to go to waste. Regarding web address "www.fafsa.com" the site mimics the legitimate site used by college students in the United States of America seeking to determine their eligibility for federal student financial aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov). I discovered the site inadvertently when my daughter asked for my credit card information after having entered ALL of our personal information on this site (socials, birth dates, income, etc.) - she entered the site following a google search for "fafsa." I attempted to back out of the site, page by page, in an effort to erase our personal information and was only partially successful. I can only imagine the multitude of folks that, unknowingly, have entered this website; it uses a similar URL address and the forms are very nearly identical to the legitimate site. Please be aware of this site. Also, if any person reading this knows of a better means to report this site, please feel free to use all or part of this message in doing so.
