I ordered 7 balls of Bernat yarn for a project, and received three different dye lots, all of which were visibly different in color. Contacted customer service, to have order returned and re-sent. The re-sent order had two different dye lots. While Fabric.com has great prices, they can't correct dye lot issues, even when they are made aware that's why an order is returned. I don't plan on ordering from them again.
I ordered fabric that I never recieved. I was home all day the package was delivered. They said someone with my last name signed for the package. I can tell you I didn't. I contacted them and they did an investigation through UPS TWICE and when I ask about the results they ignore me and tell me it was signed for. I have no curtains and I'm short 40 bucks. SERIOUSLY worst customer service/policies. Do yourself a favor and don't shop here.
I've been a customer for about two years but won't be any longer. All due to their customer service. Mistakes happen, but it's how you handle them that matters. I ordered a denim fabric that had a bad chemical odor straight from the box, but I thought it will go away after washing. What I discovered as a result -- crocking and bleeding of the fabric in wet and dry condition. Needless to say, I was denied a refund because of prewashing. Total waste of money. I attempted to post my honest review and included a picture of my stained fingers, but it was denied by the company with the explanation that "it did not meet all their website guidelines". Never explained to me what they actually are. I can get over not being refunded but being denied the right to voice my true opinion is a little too much. Not buying from them again.
All fabric I've purchased from them has been off grain. Even the lining! This is particularly frustrating with large print fabric when you're trying to make drapes or valances because a straight print and perpendicular cross & long grains is crucial!
Additionally I had ordered shirring tape which ended up being complete crap. Frayed instantly - making my gathering task a nightmare. When I called to complain they were like "oh well".
Just ordered some fabric that I need for a project. I saw someone else reported that shipping took forever, but thought I could live with 4-7 days for free shipping. After I completed the order, in my confirmation, it said that it wouldntaken2-3 business days to process my order before it even ships. I called with my order number to ask if there was any way to expedite the processing. In today's climate, it's not ok to take so long to process an order. I believe it was Brenda at customer service who told me that basically they have been in business since 1999 and this is the way it works. Wait my turn in line for processing. She said it will probably ship out on Wednesday. fabric.com, time to get with the program! This is not acceptable. I hope someone will be in touch with me to help me out and I hope you realize that you might need to hire a few more people so you can ship out sooner. It's 2016!
I was told today by a customer service representative that they are not fabric experts. We had received some fake fur fabric that each time it was cut it was coming apart. We thought we were doing something wrong and reached out.
I do have an expectation that when buying a product that the company has some knowledge about it. This will be our first and LAST order.
Prices have been going steadyly up, there used to be discount coupons as an incentive to keep shopping, those disappeared. Now they penalize you if you don't order entire yards, you pay almost 3/4 yard when purchasing only half yard.
It used to be $35.- purchase and free shipping and I believe it is now $49.-
Placed my last order on Thursday, today is Wednesday and apparently it has not shipped yet.
Their fabric selection is great, but I'm starting to get tired of all the inconveniences and less incentives to shop on this site. Frankly, I can shop better, easier, cheaper and have a faster delivery on any other site including eBay.
A wee bit overpriced, but I've ordered from here five or six times within the last year. There has never been a problem with my order, or a delay in getting it. I think the bad reviews of this website are due to people only writing reviews when they have complaints. The exception is presented as the norm. I will continue to buy my fabric here... they have lots of unique things.
2 emails did not answer questions I had asked, so I got on the instant chat, and was told there was nothing unusual about my order, and it would ship as ordered. No sooner had I gotten off that conversation when I received an email saying some would not ship. Really terrible customer service, which is too bad because they have a ton of fabric and the website it easy to use.
If you are an international buyer, choose another site. They have no interest in dealing with their Canadian neighbours. Spoke with several different people regarding products that were completely misrepresented on their site. I purchased $400 in fabric and they weren't willing to help me at all. Will never deal with this company again. Had to give a star to complete review but they do not deserve it.
My burlap came as beige cotton? Just one of the problems. Never again
If you are planning on using the fabric you just ordered for a project put anticipation on hold. Have a few backup projects in the works because it's going to be a while. Let's go Amazon, what's the problem! This is stupid slow.
To correct the mistake they made with my order would've cost them maybe $3 max. Since they chose not to, they've easily lost hundreds to thousands of dollars in my business, which I will happily take elsewhere. I hope that $3 and their self-righteousness was worth it.
Details of what transpired: I ordered $50 in fabric samples so that I could see which fabrics best matched my overall home decor. Four samples arrived that were either 1) missing the a main color altogether or 2) had maybe 1/4" of the secondary color, and it was too difficult to really see how it looked.
I sent customer service an email about this. I got a "form letter" reply that they were sorry I was disappointed. That was it. I followed back up to let them know that their response was not a resolution and that I wanted them to send me four new samples. They replied that there was no guarantee that I'd get a better cut of fabric. I then asked for them to send me the return sticker so that I could send them back and they said that they don't accept returns for samples. So I'm stuck with four unusable samples that cannot be returned.
I ordered 75 yards of a fabric for a big slipcover job. They sent me only 45 yards. My seamstress called in a panic and demanded more fabric. So I ordered the fabric I'd already paid for. That was a week ago. I'm still waiting for a refund. They've been screwing with me for a week. If I hadn't needed so much fabric I'd have ordered from a traditional store. Save yourself a big hassle and go somewhere else.
I had to cut off 4 inches because the fabric was not cut straight. When you're paying $13 a yard you expected to be correct. Item never matches the picture. Colors are always off. They had to resend my item 3 times because they kept sending me the wrong one and then when I got it, it was 3 inches too short.
The fabric is top quality, however I don't like the practice of charging me for 3/4 of a yard when I'm only buying a 1/2 yd. If you don't like dealing with smaller amounts, then don't offer them. I don't go into a fabric store and ask for 1/2 yd and then have them charge me for 3/4 yd. I WON'T BE ORDERING AGAIN.
I ordered black terrycloth for mass production. When received it was blue. I took it the manufacturer and it looked more blue under the lights.
I called the company and asked them to pick up the fabric and they said they couldn't. It had to be picked up at the same place it was dropped off. I live in Long Island and the manufacturer is in NYC, the garment district.
I slchlept the fabric back to Long Island and had it picked up.
This company sent a new shipment but it was still blue!
I will NEVER order from Fabric.com again!
My production is held up and the requests for my item has deminished.
Good going fabric.com for hindering my first business endeavor.
Signed,
Never again
This has been a complaint on numerous occasions. Evidently this company doesn't care because I have complained by phone at different times. Who wants to order linen & it come wadded up? Who ever they hire don't care. This company is one of the slowest to get your fabric also!
I have ordered many times from Fabric.com. My order arrived quickly however I ordered 9 yards for a quilt backing. They shipped 8 7/8 yards. 4 1/2 inches short! Now I look at their website and they only have 1 yard left! Not enough to make the backing without awkward piecing. I am so disappointed. I will think twice about ordering from them again! Buyer beware!
About 3/4 of the time when you order from their website, it will show that they have enough fabric online, so, you submit your order only to receive an email that they just have part of it. Then, they push the option to choose a different fabric altogether. I've also received the same fabric print from more than one bolt that doesn't match. The customer service dept. is very slow to respond & if or when they do, they are not very helpful. Do Not Buy From Fabric.com!
I had issues with Fabric.com in the past but it seems they have rallied. Last shipment didn't show any movement with UPS tracking for 4 days. However, it ended up being a UPS error as the fabric arrived only days after my order was placed.
Answer: Hawthorne Threads is great.
Answer: Im using them for almost a year but no more... they keep sending me 25 % discount almost every week to gain me back... NO WAY! Yeah i order atleast 2,000 each order... total loss for them... until now they still awe me money for the fleece fabric i order long time ago, when i order it it has 50 yards of it, after 10 days they gonna tell me its out of stock, waited for replacement, until now no replacement... i got a lot of horrible experience with this company,,, dirty fabric that looks like somebody use it to rub on their body... really really sucks!
Answer: My business is making curtains. I have dealt with this company for the past two years and I think the customer service department is doing the best they can with trying to making it look like the company has it together. They do not have it together at all. There is no excuse with the volume of business that they do that they cannot afford a system that can tell you immediately an item is out of stock. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased fabric from this company only to learn three days later that it is not in stock. Then they hold the rest of your order for another three to four days after you answer an email telling them to continue to ship the rest of the order. I have had fabric arrive to me balled up in a box that they didn't even bother to put in a bag, I have had fabric with shoe prints on it in the middle of the bolt or pieces of fabric missing from a ten yard order that were cut out of the middle of the ten yards. I am trying to eventually not use this company at all anymore as they don't have a clue as to how to treat customers or just don't care. The only problem is they have run all of the mom and pop online fabric stores out of business with lower prices (this was maybe two years ago) and the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with them so they closed. Now that they have the market they have raised their prices because they have very little competition out there. If you leave a good review for this company you are one in a million that have had a pleasurable experience. Just because you bought from them once and don't have a complaint means nothing, consider yourself lucky.
Answer: It's a US website, so they'll take the money in US dollars, but if they take orders from Australia your bank or payment processor will have to convert the currency according to the current exchange rate and I think they may also charge a fee for doing this.
Answer: Thank you so much for your inquiry. Please feel free to send your contact information to edhr@fabric.com, and I would be more than happy to forward it to the appropriate people.
Answer: You would have been better off contacting fabric.com directly. It doesn't look like they even know about this website.
Answer: I would call or email them, including as much detail as you can... order #, what fabrics were ordered and approximately the time of the order. Have never had this happen to me from Fabric.com, have from another online site and was lucky that I got the help I needed. Good Luck.
Answer: As a customer of theirs, almost an ex-customer of theirs at this point, I can honestly say they have made absolutely no changes for the better in my case. They have paid absolutely no attention to any of my issues with them, which is why I'm about to become a former customer.
