Love this website and the regular seller clinics. It's reasonably priced and a much friendlier environment than other similar web services.
The 'better mouse trap' will be here, don't cry when you've dallied and find the item of your dreams sold out!
You can't get any help from anyone at Etsy. There is absolutely NO customer service. I won't buy from them again.
I'm trying to start a business. It doesn't let me. Also i gave etsy my credit card number, 2 days later somebody from etsy hacked into my account! 1
In my option they use to be a good website to buy from but not anymore. They stared getting scammers on their site and that is bad for business.
I have ordered from Etsy more than once and never received my items. What ever you do don't order any from Asia, you'll be sorry and get ripped off.
Words cannot express the terribleness of this monster scam known as "Etsy"! Whoever those inhumane criminals are, they deserve capital punishment! STAY AWAY!
I have bought my wedding dress and rings with Etsy - waiting on the rings (fingers crossed) but the dress was perfect. Sadly however, I also bought some bangles for me and my best friend, and when they arrived they were big enough only for a toddler, made of cheap plastic when they should have been 'gold plated brass with gemstones' as in the description and picture. I messaged the seller, https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Jumkha - telling her about this and that unless there was a speedy resolution I would be sure to give a bad review (meaning the service AND product) so as to give her a chance to sort this out. The seller is making me pay for shipping to return the rubbish AND has accused me of having a 'poor tone' - well of COURSE I am pissed off about having bought crap! THEN Etsy.com's 'trust' service contacts me accusing me of trying to EXTORT the seller - suggesting I was threatening a bad review completely randomly - no mention and certainly no apology was made for the blatantly misrepresented items being sold by this seller (there was a BUBBLE in my 'gemstone' - clearly a plastic POS as incredibly light to handle too!). All in all I am disgusted by this site now and will sadly, never buy there again, since which I HAVE had good experiences, the attitude of Etsy itself is worrying - they won't refund shipping costs and accuse buyers like me who have spent hundreds with them of EXTORTION when sellers sell them crap. Unbelievable - sad. AVOID.
This site is a dream for people whom love handmade. I am disappointed that they now allow non handmade items.
Really good site to find new products online and easy to search what ever you need, much better then eBay
I use platform to sell on Etsy. I had some complains about sometimes my products is ban for any reason, but its ok I give then 3 star.
Etsy is a platform for scammers.
I almost got scammed by Etsy... it took me a long time to get my $13,454 credited back to my card.
It was the most painful and horrible experience I've ever had.
Their dispute resolution format is totally duped with morons from the Philippines who continue to cycle you continuously in a circular pattern forcing you to text chat or talk to dozens of different people who can barely speak English... Can't understand what they're saying half the time. They all say the same thing concerning your case like they're trained to be bots in human form. Stating over and over the same thing you heard from the previous text chat person with no help or escalation to help your case... AND I STRESS THE FACT THAT THEIR CASE RESOLUTION IS OF TOTAL INCOMPETENCE.
It was only after threats from my credit card company that they initiate a lawsuit if they did not comply to a refund based on all the evidence that I had presented to them that the seller was using mail fraud and credit card fraud.
Don't buy or sell on Etsy it's a huge platform for scam artists and Etsy supports them.
I recently decided to dip my toes into the world of online selling and thought Etsy would be the perfect platform to showcase my unique designs with print-on-demand. Oh, how wrong I was! My journey with Etsy turned into a nightmare faster than you can say "handmade".
Without any warning or explanation, Etsy decided to suspend my brand-new seller account. I had just set up shop, uploaded my first listing, and eagerly awaited my first sale. I noticed a banner on my shop saying my account was suspended and that they sent an email with details, but I received no such email. When I submitted a case to get more information, they said my account can no longer be reinstated and provided no justification as to why it was suspended in the first place. Etsy provided zero clarity on what I supposedly did wrong. It's like being punished without knowing the crime. I tried to delete my account out of frustration, but I have to pay a listing fee for something that wasn't even live. They also have my personal banking details which I can't seem to delete. Who knows what they might do with that sensitive information? It feels like I'm being held hostage by a platform that couldn't care less about its sellers.
Etsy's lack of transparency and accountability is appalling. It's not just bad business practice; it's downright unethical. My advice to anyone considering selling on Etsy: proceed with extreme caution. Your hard work and livelihood could be jeopardized at the whim of an algorithm or an overzealous moderator. In conclusion, Etsy isn't just a platform for artisans; it' a platform for frustration, disappointment, and feeling utterly helpless. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this scam of a website. There are plenty of other, more reputable platforms out there where your talents will be appreciated, and your rights as a seller will be respected. Etsy, you've lost a potential seller (AND BUYER) for life. Shame on you.
The seller is unprofessional, check out all items before you purchase anything and make sure items advertised are genuine
Very good, most sellers are good, more great & a few fabulous! I've only encountered one bad in years.
Etsy is by far the worst company to communicate with. You cannot call them no direct email. No help!
Etsy has some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. Buyer beware, you will regret ordering from Etsy!
I use this site to find unique gifts for my Wife and get ideas for special occasions. Especially jewelry.
She is scamming people still. She gives really nice pic but what you get is fake and cheap but she charges 300 dollars but its onle worth 20 dollars
Kick her oit now.
Answer: Check the reviews, and Google the seller. Also, are the reviews written in good english? Does it seem fake? Check pictures from the buyers.
Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!
Answer: I am agree with Ramina. 90% is not hand made. All comes from Factories. When someone has over 8000's item don't you ask who made it. They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state. Etsy is happy just to take your money and every 4 or 5 months closing one store to show off and if you have some money as a credit they take it too. No customer service, no respect no manor, they made policy just for FUN and they have FUN with our pocket. Stay far from them FAR FAR.
Answer: I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy
Answer: Business checking isn't necessary (the banks now charge a monthly fee for a small business checking). You can pretty much set up a regular checking account
Answer: I believe this depends on each seller. Etsy is simply a platform for sellers, and often does not have any direct involvement with orders short of processing the payment. Certain items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons, and sellers can refuse to do anything other than exchange. Contacting Etsy may or may not change the results.
Answer: If you do, I would be cautious about ordering from international sellers, use a credit card in case you need to contest the charges, and do NOT expect ETSY do a thing if you get ripped off. They are useless and could care less once the sale is final.
Answer: I have bought a number of items through Etsy and with great success. I had only one negative experience and Etsy took are of that. I recommend Etsy wholeheartedly.
Answer: The best and quickest thing to do is to email the seller and let them know that you would like to return for a refund.
