I e-mailed trailer and got a response immediately. They gave me three options to my questions,. I purchased my snow chains and they were delivered in a couple days. Thank you for the great customer service.
The trailer is still with La Mesa RV. On the GM web sites I am seeing a lot of complaints for new truck 7 Pin Connector issues. Some say dielectric grease on the contacts, some say better ground and some say don't plug in the connector with the truck running. If I use that break controller you suggested how will that impact the current Silverado system. The trailer mode turns on the cameras on the mirrors for lane changes. I am told that the break controller pulses the break lines looking for a connection. Seems like this is a big GM Issue that they are ignoring on a *******. 00 truck.
Provided them with factory info.to verify correct replacement springs and u-bolt kit. Springs were correct, u-bolt kit not even close
I had a quick question on the diameter of a plumbing fitting and the recommended glue. I received a very quick response that aided my purchase decision.
I had inquired about the poor radio reception on a Furrion Entertainment System radio. Jason S. Provided a prompt response and two suggestions for replacement antennas with amplifier to boost the incoming signal. The information was very helpful and both recommendations were competitively priced from etailer. Both carried good customer reviews from various sources..
I was having a problem locating the correct receiver hitch for my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. I received conflicting answers from uhaul and the dealership as to which type of hitch I needed. After over 3 weeks of frustration, I came across etrailer website. I asked them which hitch I needed. Erik knew exactly what I was talking about, suggested the correct hitch. I ordered it and it came early and was a piece of cake to install! Thank you Erik and Etrailer!
The information provided was very helpful and provided specific options for my future needs. I received quick and concise responses to more than one question.
After writing a truthful review of etrailer and posting here I was contacted by staff the next day (through this website). I provided the order info and what happened and guess what... no one more reply back. I have names and email correspondence to back up my claims and they choose not to make this right! Lesson learned on my behalf... and out $500. Truly use caution with this company.
Spoke with etrailer rep on phone. Was told what to purchase. Get it in and install... does not work for what I need. They will not allow return because was installed. Also, product in question is Rhino roof rack. Do not spend the money on this product. It's cheap junk. Buy something off Amazon and save $300 plus dollars.
Man! Erik B. Is a Really Really Cool guy! He responded my question in a really easy A, B, C way that I can understand whay he meant with every point he was making, also give me the reasons of "why: I should do this or that... even after he responded my questions I had new doubts I ask more. And in the must nice way he explain it to me.! AWESOME SERVICE! I already place my order! Thank you guys!
I struggled with my wiring project. I followed his advice. My ground issues didn't resolve after grinding down the metal. However... Assuming he was correct, I just ran independent ground wires to the lights. Problem gone. So 5 starts because he was right. It was a grounding issue with the trailer
I was having a hard time finding info on my pop up and was given quick a quick response and helpful information.
This company has the best products, documentation, and customer service. I've had the pleasure of ordering 2 hitches, one for a Crosstrek abd the other a CR-V. Both times, products were of high quality, hardware and necessary installation tools were complete as well as high quality. On one hitch there was a significant price drop after ordering. A short phone conversation and I had an adjusted price. As a point of interest my local garage also recommends Etrailer. There is no need to go anywhere else. Top notch company!
Excellent company to do business with. I truly appreciate the way he responded so timely! The product was well packaged and each component came with easy to read instructions. I'm very happy.
I appreciate Jason's information. Just to recap, I needed a truck be rack that would work with full fenders. I have not acted on his recommendation because I have gotten behind on other things but will be buying this in the future.
Ordered parts, was charged right away then order status says it will be ready to ship in 3 months... that's correct. 3 MONTHS. No thanks and on top of that, it very difficult to cancel an order. You have to call them... and be on hold for 30 minutes. Again, NO THANKS. I just disputed the credit charge, quick and easy. I'll not bother with these folks again.
I purchased the ******* Hitch Ball Mount for my truck and RV. It has a rubber anti-rattle device included with it. Many people said that the rubber device didn't last long and replaced it with the set screw *******. I checked the E-Trailer web site and sure enough one of their techs said that the set screw could be used to replace the rubber device. Here is that question and answer:
Replacement Anti-Rattle for Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C*******
Question:
Is there a replacement for the rubber anti-rattle. It is a poor design and does not last! Any suggestion?

In place of the rubber bumper included with adjustable ball mount # C******* you can use anti-rattle set screw # C*******. Unlike the bumper this set screw will thread in from the back.

After further research I read that the set screw could only be used with a couple of other hitch ball mounts. I also examined my hitch and determined that there was no way to install the set screw on the ******* from the rear as the directions for use state. I asked E-Trailer the question about the screw replacing the rubber device and here is their reply:
Expert Reply:
The Replacement Anti-Rattle Set Screw with Wrench for Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount # C******* is a set screw that is 1/2" -13 x 1" bolt. I reached out to my tech contact at Curt and it is not designed to replace the rubber anti-rattle plug included with the Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C*******. The rubber plug was actually created because of issues with customers overtightening the set screw and ruining the threads on the anti-rattle so the rubber plug anti-rattle was the solution to the set screw issue.

Bottom line is that the screw is not compatible with the ******* even though the web site says that it is.
All that being said I love the hitch I purchased and will use it with the rubber anti-rattle device and get a new one if it fails. Also the response from E-Trailer to my question was prompt and cleared up confusion for me. Do your own research on any product and make up your own mind. E-Trailer sells quality products and I will continue to use them for my truck and RV needs on specialty products.
Over the past few years I've purchased several items from etrailer, and each time I am surprised by their quick actions, their attention to what the customer is asking and needing, the selection of products, and their supreme customer service. This kind of business is what we all need more of and I fully endorse them as a source for whatever you may need. Even when I purchased the wrong item, by my own decision, they were super good and fast with the exchange, as painless as you could possibly ask for. And everything I've ever purchased is of great quality. You can't go wrong with these folks.
I had some questions about a jet ski trailer tongue jack and if there was a replacement caster (the jack is just fine but the caster was missing when I purchased the trailer). I wrote a question and it was answered in a reasonable time frame given Covid19 and the possibility of Biden20? Jason was able to give me some options despite my caster being no longer available. That is good service in a troubling world. Thank you.
I recently sent a question regarding the right model hitch for my vehicle. I got a detailed response and explanation from Jameson regarding my situation. Appreciate the prompt response.
This is a cut & paste of the Exact email of concerns sent to etrailer and the review I want posted on their website. They refused saying "All content is reviewed before being posted to the site.". Double speak for No, not posting that."
First off, there was very very poor communications from etrailer during the entire process. ( Auto reply emails is NOT effective communication process, despite what employees claim.)
I specifically ordered a hitch based on the website's claim that it was in stock and would ship to my location in 2-3 days. Which means to the average customer -'deliver by' -NOT -'leaves the warehouse by'.
It turns out the hitch was back ordered by several days and etrailer knew it was back ordered as per a phone conversation with smart-mouthed, inconsiderate customer service rep about 5-6 days after etrailer took my money but did not comply with their end of the business arrangement.
The inconsiderate phone rep, whose name I did not remember nor write down! Stated that is was in the computer as arriving to the warehouse after being out stock.
Why wasn't I notified of the delay?
When the items finally did ship, The tracking Was not accurate and took longer than was stated. Ok there could have been an issue with the UPS company... yetI still did not get an update, the Etrailer tracking page showed delivery due by 9pm while the box sat in a warehouse on the other side of the state.
I now had to cancel the installation appointment two different times-with little fore warning, and pissing off the local shop owner, twice. I finally just stopped making appointments AnD CANCELLED MY CROSS COUNTRY TRIP! Because I could not hook up the trailer!
And then Upon delivery at the UPS office, I find the box was torn open on 3 corners with exposed metal parts sticking out of the box. And scratches on both ends of the hitch.
To say I am disappointed and irritated is an understatement!
Due to the deadline for me to deliver promised items with an approximate arrival time, I was forced to install the hitch on my own in the middle of the night to complete delivery of the items that I promised in a timely manner.
I did make sure that the people waiting for me were advised constantly and immediately of every delay and approximate updated delivery... the way I should have been treated.
I was hoping to warn any potential customers of the way etrailer does business so they may adjust their timelines in expectation of how they will be treated by etrailer.
I have pictures of the torn box.
Answer: First one to pop up on google search. No other reason.
