I had some issues with Edgenuity at the start of this school year and at that time I opted to not give a review, because 1 was too many stars, and I needed my time because it was clear I was going to have to solve the problem myself. I then had a new difficulty a couple of days ago and decided to email their tech support for help as I was leaving school. My expectations were perilously low because of my previous experience. Next morning I had an email with exact clear solution to the issue! I was surprised and pleased. Customer service gets 5 stars. The rest of Edgenuity as a learning platform, is about average. It can be what you make it. Kind of like cooking chicken. It always tastes llike chicken, but if you spice it up, it's pretty good.
I miss 1 question of the 5 question reveiw and they make me watch 16 parts of video based on something I'm not learning. And the stupid app doesn't even let you know or reveiw what you got wrong! I would never reccomend this to a growing child let alone another adult.
I ran into a dilemma while using the Edgenuity site and Mr. Sutton took care of my situation in a speedy and professional way. I was treated with a caring attitude and definitely will not hesitate to use your service again.
Once again Mr. Sutton needs to be given an attaboy for his work.
Sincerely,
John A Jones
Edgenuity... I'm disappointed. My daughter is constantly confused in your statistics course. The way the instructor explains the material is confusing for the students. The students have to learn one thing after the next; it gives them no time to process what they have learned. Especially when they are struggling to get past the first topic, and then they have to already move on towards the next. Also the instructor doesn't explain the material well. There will be numbers, and answers to a problem, and the instructor doesn't explain how he got the numbers or answer very well. I really do hope you take this into consideration for the future math courses.
So I was going to give this app a 1 star because my son and I had issues getting the audio to work and at first customer service agent Blake was insisting that it was an issue with the multiple devices we tried to resolve the issue ourselves. I have decided to change it to a 3 star because after getting blunt and rude with Blake this morning the audio was magically working. Seems like they found the issue and fixed it. For that thanks
The Edgenuity team makes our work a partnership. Working with over 10,000 secondary students taking one or more classes has been an adventure for our teachers and students. After all this is a new pedagogy and something quite frankly none of teachers or students chose, rather result of necessity. The Edgenuity team has been spot on in their support of this work. Thanks for being partner!
My childs school enrolled my son in this worthless program. Need to contact the teachers... good luck.
Need to complain about a teacher? No use there is no one to contact, only contact info for user support that says we cant help you with teacher problems. The teachers lie to you when they do finally contact you back... Oh sorry I couldn't get logged in today, which is total BS when I speak to another parent that says why yes this teacher has been emailing with me all morning. I think the teachers here are here because they are too lazy to get a real teaching job. Dont waste tour time here, you are better off letting trained monkeys teach your child!
We needed to pull Data for our our school board based on the amount of time our students were using edgenuity. Unfortunately we could not get a report that was predefined. Support was able to help us customize a report in just a few minutes.
The lessons are repetitive and off the curriculum. Edgenuity does not care about mastery, only memorization. The website is constantly slow. You have to be on the platform for more than five minutes before it starts your time tracker. Khan Academy is a better platform to use for both home school and public school.
Edgenuity help is terrible. It took almost two weeks to get a simple response, the robot support doesn't work, and help button never finds what I need. I like the product for students but hate the support for educators.
Our district decided to use this system for distance learning. It is inflexible and there is no place for an instructor at all. Teachers become aides in their own classroom. It is no substitute for a curriculum or scope and sequence at all: it is Edgenuity or nothing, baby.
In the training videos provided on the Edgenuity site, they honestly try to sell having a pause and start button as a feature for their lecture video series for self pacing. All of the resources they urge teachers to use are all other applications or sites; none of it is within the Edgenuity scheme.
Edgenuity is perfect for a class or two over the summer, but for a semester/year curriculum? No way in hell.
Where do I even begin? The whole outline of the platform is terrible and is leaving me and my peers frustrated. I am currently behind, and it's because the platform is glitching. Not to even mention the videos are bland and don't even fully explain anything. Also, someone PLEASE tell me why the grades go into decimals? I got an 89.8 on my report card when it would've just rounded up to a 90.
We had an issues within the program with broking links within the program where students could not access the needed curriculum to complete their work. The last issue took nine days to resolve or get a response from Edgenuity. This is unacceptable for students and teachers who are working on deadlines. Another issue we had with broken links or a program issue that would not allow students to advance did not get a finalized response of having the issue fixed. When dealing with curriculum and pacing for student education, time is a valuable commodity and any delays that take over 48 hours is a failure to the students and educational program that is being served.
Upon the forcing of Edgenuity in my school, the students have overall found the site to be not only frustrating and stressful, but often glitchy and ineffective. Its "Lessons" are repetitive and highly boring, and the site provides no real advantage over other academic platforms other than being directed towards a large-scale remote situation- of which it still fails to adequately achieve and is perhaps in my opinion, worse than simply adapting a site not intended for remote learning to the situation.
I am using this platform for my 8th-grade pre-algebra class and I hate It so much. 1st, the teachers don't even look like they want to be there. 2nd, the whole format of the program is so boring. Like the white video on a gray background so boring. The constant bugs, lag, and glitches, totally ruin the whole thing (not like there was anything to begin with). There is so much repetition, no encouragement, and I just don't see how you could rate it above 1 star. And also, the instructors talk so quietly, even when my computer is at 100% volume, I can barely hear when I am in class.
The new CTE and Purpose Prep content inside Edgenuity's Courseware has some hidden grading requirements for the educator to complete to accurately assess student's learning and provide meaningful feedback. In our road to improvement, which is a daily task, we failed to realize this as educators and Edgenuity through the support and ticket system replied with details including visual guidance that helped us learn from our misunderstanding of how to best use the program. We find value in the fact that they will help us with how best to use the program with fidelity which increases our odds of success in reaching the maximum potential of each and every student. The help center build inside the program would have guided us to similar results, so it is nice to know we have multiple ways to gain greater understanding on how best to use the program and it is our job to learn from it, adapt it to meet our needs and move forward with continuous improvement.
As a teacher, I appreciated the fast response to yet another glitch. I wish I could say glitches are rare. They're not.
With regard to content, the grades 9-12 courses are difficult and not very engaging. Students complain about the number of videos and the quality of the "teachers". Although the teachers seem to be proficient in content, they are boring in presentation.
This program is absolutely terrible. My children are learning nothing. There is no guidance from the teachers and no one to turn to for help. They teach things out of order and there is way too many assignments to do. My kids spend more hours doing the virtual "learning" than kids going to school do. I'm over this crap! So are my kids!
I am a teacher and also a parent every single time my son is doing edgenuity it's always giving him a bad grade and it doesn't explain it clearly to my son can you do us a favor and cancel the stupid website it's already hard enough.
I am a teacher that uses Edgenuity with 6th and 7th graders. The program is well built and meets the needs of our online students. It is easy to navigate and set up. It includes ways to create RTI for students as needed.
Lessons can also be adjusted as needed. When I do have issues I can email and I usually get a response within 48 hours.
I only gave 4 stars because when I call the help line or use the chat functions I can be put on hold for over an hour. (This has happened a couple of times.) I have learned to use email. Once I get a hold of them they are extremely helpful.
Program gets a five star review.
Customer Service only a three.
That gives them a four.
