Have used them in years past, they were always slow in approving the "free" ad's I would post on their site, but they would get to them in a week or so. This year I put up my ad's in mid may and here we are in July, my puppies are 8 weeks, and nothing has been approved. I sent a ticket through their online support system and got no response to the ticket or my follow up attempts. I am willing to pay for ad's but am not going to put money out there if they can't respond to any requests or do what they say they will on the free ones.
DogsNow seems to bring in a lot of interested families looking for puppies. It is very easy to use, and the review process is great to help weed out scams and spam posts. Being able to search by zip code and location is a great feature, and it's easy to write a TON about your puppies in the description box. You're able to post one picture for free, and the ad stays up for 3 months. I've been using it for several years now, and it has only helped increase the visibility of my puppies. The only thing I would tweak about it is where it says "male, female, mixed"... mixed is not a good term to use when referring to puppies, as it implies they are mixed breed. Someone please change this word to "male & female"! Thanks! :)
I was looking for an African Gray in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. I googled this number to see where the area code was because the parrots seemed a little underpriced. Try it. These people live from Atlanta to California... with many states in-between.
This is a total scam! Tried to get a puppy and seller wanted a $400 deposit for a puppy listed at $655 in order for us to see the puppy and vet papers. We were able to come see the puppy that day within 30 minutes. We were told to look elsewhere because he doesn't let people see the puppies without a deposit
All the horror stories listed here are all too familiar. My wife and I just got scammed. Thankfully, we did not send any $ for 'deposit'. As soon as the topic about a 'deposit' came up, it raised MAJOR RED FLAGS.
The other RED FLAG was that they were using a Google Number, and never cared to give a real number.
They sent us on a wild goose chase to a stranger's home get the 'puppy'. Thankfully, the location was only 45 minutes away. Still a waste of time.
The reason I know the whole site is set up as a scam is that one of the reviews on here turns out to be the name of the individual that we were communicating with: Franklin Fletcher (Franklin F.). I will post a screenshot of the review here along with my review.
BUYER BEWARE! This entire site is a SCAM!
I got a yorkie from her and three days later took her to the vet and her blood sugar was low so the vet keep her over night and she passed away. Dogs Now said it was my fault.
Stay away from Dogs Now
I never get serious replys on this site for $20 a month. & when i do get a reply it seems it is the people who work there because they never come through with buying a puppy. They email 1 time then i reply back then nothing.
We're not sure what the monthly fee you describe is? We don't charge monthly for ads, and in fact listings can be placed FOR FREE on our website, unless of course you'd like to place a premium ad. Also, we don't respond to ads as you suggested. We simply provide the means to connect buyers to your ad. The rest is up to you to make a sale. I think you might have us confused with another website.
Was looking at a Bernedoodle on the site. According to the site, I was only 15 miles from that particular dog & 'Julio' was the contact. As I started messaging with them, I got emails from another person totally - no 'Julio' in sight, and was told that they were in Jackson, MN - almost 3 hours away. When I asked if we could have a conversation, I was given a phone number that I could 'text them' at. What breeder is unwilling to have a conversation with a potential buyer? At that point, I pulled the plug. I wouldn't use that site again. Too many scam possibilities.
I have no problems with them & I've been using them since 2013. When I forgot my password they got back to me in a day. And I personal think it is an awesome site.
Thank you Mary for the rating and kind review.
We attempted to purchase a "teacup" dachshund from breeder Donald in LA area. His profile is a home breeder. After multiple communications we decided to purchase a pup. After transferring payment. We were given no contract or proof of what we were getting. Outside of text messages with what we would be getting with the pup. We waited for the shipping "flight" info. When details arrived in email, we were told they demanded more money and an insurance policy before they would transport him. We were not given any other options and were unable to find this company online or a phone number. It clearly was not disclosed ahead of time. We decided to cancel our purchase and requested a refund. He kept trying to offer options to meet the shipping demands but we are not willing to risk further scams or losses. He has not been willing to refund us and even threatened that we have abandoned this pup. We have not signed anything and outside of a funds transfer have no proof that the breeder has met their end of the agreement.
DO NOT fall for this. I have seen several ads on the site with the same breeder contact details for a variety of dogs.
I reached out to a "breeder" about a weimereiner puppy. They wanted me to send them $400 to get "registered" so they would hold my puppy. I told them I wouldn't send them money without setting eyes on a puppy and they said I could not come see the puppy without a deposit. SCAM.
Total scam! Texts 6 times saying will delete my ad for no reason, just wanted passwords, etc. not a safe place to advertise our furry ones! They should not have this problem at all, and they provide zero support! Hmmm, I think it is they, who are the scammers!
Also dealt with trying o buy corgi from "Andrew taggart". Seemed to be clearly bogus transaction. Told DOGSNOW site and see a day later they gave not taken his ad down. Not even his real name.
We don't have any ads placed by a user with the name Andrew Taggart. Please contact support@dogsnow.com if you think there is a seller who might be scamming buyers. Also, you can "flag" and ad as a scam.
They don't vet their sellers. The one from San Jose tried to sell me a registered miniature poodle and ship it both for 650.00. Remember if it sounds too good to be true it is!
This site is nothing but a SCAM. Looking for a Great Dane puppy. Contacted seller, sent me a sob story, which I believed. I thought who could make up such a sad story to just to sell dogs. Long story short I am out 300.00 dollars. I have been in touch with MoneyGram, FBI and the local police. These scumbags play on the hearts of people who want to give loving homes to animals. When they try to scam the next person, I hope whatever story they tell them happens to them.
MY WIFE AND I SPOKE EXTENSIVELY, BY PHONE AND TEXT, WITH A BREEDER FROM DOGSNOW.COM. WE MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO PICK UP TWO PUPPIES IN WALNUT HILL, FL. THIS WAS A 19-HOUR ROUND TRIP DRIVE FOR US. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE ADDRESS THE FAMILY THERE TOLD US THERE WERE NO PUPPIES. THEY ALSO TOLD US THAT WE WERE NOT THE FIRST ONES TO STOP THERE LOOKING FOR THOSE PUPPIES. WHAT A RIP OFF. WE WILL BE CONTACTING THE LOCAL POLICE TO SEE IF THIS SCAM IS A PUNISHABLE OFFENSE. WE STILL HAVE THE SCAMMERS PHONE NUMBER.
This guy named Andrew Thaggard sold puppies for 800 dallors including shipping. So I paid$ 800 and he is telling me to pay $4000 more! I thought it wasn't reasonable so I told him I wanted my money back and I didn't want the puppy anymore but he wouldn't give me a refund. Now he is saying that I abandoned when I didn't even see the puppy. I am sooo mad I lost $800. Never trust this sight you guys.
We don't have a seller named Andrew Thaggard registered with our website. You might have our website confused with another?
I have used this site now for 2 yrs. And as a seller have had a very successful experience finding good homes for my Goldendoodle pups. A site such as this is needed for breeders like myself to be able to reach out to folks that desire ownership of one of these hard to find breeds. I am not a puppy mill! I am a hobby breeder that enjoys joining my Doodles with their new families! All of my pups from the last litter were sold with contract / deposit through the mail without one person previously viewing them at my home... no complaints and all happy dealings. Good communication and honesty make good business,
I am a breeder. While searching sites last night, I came across dogsnow.com. While looking through the beagle puppies for sale, I saw SEVERAL of my own puppies listed! These people are SCAMMERS! I have tried contacting dogsnow.com to have them get my puppies off their site but still, NO ONE has even attempted to call or email me back. I believe this whole site is a joke!
After looking over Maltese Puppy the one we feel in love with & talking with owner I guess they said they had to move From SC to Utah. Then after talking to the pet shippers we thought puppy had been shipped the after 3 hours they called back needing more money for a ventilation electronic temperature crate and vaccine. Which was up to be $2550. Lesson learned hard way, we let our hearts talk today instead of our minds. If you see *******053 number its a scam also www.themobilepets.com. Giving it a 1 star which they and this site don't deserve. You can't even file a complaint with dogsnow.com.
Answer: We provide the ability for sellers to list their licenses and certification in their profile. However, nothing replaces healthy skepticism when it comes to purchasing a dog. It is always prudent to deal locally and make sure the dog is not sick or injured and it is well cared for. As a buyer you need to do your due diligence before making a purchase and if there are red flags or concerns by all means find another seller.
Answer: Your ad might have been placed on a different website and then picked up by Oodle. Oodle is an ad aggregator. We subscribe to the Oodle data feed and this is clearly marked on the ad as "powered by Oodle". The ad will take a buyer back to Oodle where they can then contact the seller.
Answer: We're not sure of the individual ad in question, but if there is a concern such as the one you raised, we have a tool in place to "flag" an ad. We don't want you or anyone to be scammed, and if there is a concern its best to skip that ad and flag it.
Answer: No, that is not a safe way to send money. A reputable breeder should ask for a deposit through a different means, such as a check through the mail or paypal. Some even accept credit cards. Whichever the method is, you should have some recourse to be able to get your money back if anything goes wrong or the breeder doesn't make good on his/her promises.
