When DiSH went out of service, as RV'ers, we couldn't call to get our locals changed to our new destination (the only reason we even got this service was for the locals). After a month or two, they were answering phones but would tell you there was an 80+ minute wait. I refused to do this, so we had no service for OVER three months. When I could finally get them on the phone, "Rebecca" insolent customer service rep, rudely told us that since we weren't able to wait 80+ minutes for service, it was our fault and no refund would be forthcoming. As far as the first month or two when they were DOWN, we qualified for that incredibly insulting $11.84 refund. We will be dropping them like a hot potato!
Even the person on the phone doesn't even know why the charges are there, though give you 10 different reasons? They don't know which one it is they just shoot in the dark
Dish will continue to bill you and bill you. Then say you never cancelled. I will never use them again. They created an account for me... crazy but how can I fight a big company like this? I can't... they get away with it and get an extra 142 in their pocket for service I didn't make or have.
They have bad service, their system was down on the 3/3/23 and couldn't pay my bill it gave me the option to text I want to pay my bill and someone would reach out to me but no one ever called and my service was turned off and now they want me to pay a late fee
I actually would not give them a 1 star. I wanted to add a channel to my package and I waited on hold for 90 minutes and spoke with representative who then told me they needed to be transferred to another representative. I waited on hold for 2 hours to speak to a representative to be told, they needed to transfer me to someone else who could help me. I hung up and called the cancellation department only to be told my wait time was 153 minutes. I was offered an option to get a call back. We will see if I get a call back when a representative is available. I am done, I don't care what I have to pay to get out of Dish. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen and I pay around $100 a month for the service. SO NOT WORTH IT!
The equipment quit after 6 months. I called and they said our equipment was obsolete. Then when we called back again they said something else. A Sham.
Changed to dish 15 months ago because they offered no contracts. 15 months later I'm moving and they're penalizing me $180. Turned in for arbitration and they refused. They're liars and it's bad service.
Dish Network as almost everybody knows has been hacked. Therefore they have no way of stopping Auto pays that were already canceled prior. And no way to refund the illegal and unauthorized auto pay. Trevor in the loyalty department and Jill in the loyalty department both lied to me and told me my money would be refunded. My husband of 36 yrs passed away March 1st 2023 and they took an auto pay that was not authorized out of my account which we shared after he passed away and after auto pay was canceled and switched to paper bill. My husband was the sole account holder and they took money out of my account and have yet to refund it. I will never ever do business with people who do not keep their promise and do dirty business.
Worst service ever! Didn't even work for one hour from the day it was installed never ever worked serviceman phone calls chatting never worked ever do not get dish horrible service horrible service! Now they want to bill me $480 for no service this is just ridiculous do not get dish!
Dish customer for 10 years. NBC was dropped and when I did a chat about a football game the person lied to me and told me it was on channel 154, It was but at 3:00am the next day after the game. Dish is always fighting with one of the networks... I'm changing providers
I have been with dish for 2 years. Now that contracct is out I am getting a 40.00 increase. UT new customers can get a better rate than I ever had. They don't care about their customers they only care about the money.
I would give Dish a negative rating if I could. We called to get a third line in our finished attic. The tech wrote in notes that we had a third Joey installed in our attic which was a lie. We didn't realize it. We were ripped off $200 + for a third Joey we did not have. They refused to return the money they stole from us. Watch yourself if you go with Dish Network. They take no responsibility for stealing and scamming money from customers.
I have recharged dish TV and it is not working, when I called them they said we have to book technication from there side for which they will charge Rs 200 for each visit.
In March I faced the same problem and there technication came and did some thing and he charged us 350 rs. Again we are facing the Sam problem, we need to pay again 200rs item's.
If you have such problem every month you need to pay 200rs
I asked them to cancel my account and refund back my reached amount of Rs. 370, customer care executive says they don't have refund policy.
In any services company there are refund policy, but this Disttv doesn't have.

My father in law had dish for a number of years before he passed away. I called and canceled his service and asked for a box so I could return his cable box and remote. Then they kept sending bills so I called again and explained the situation. Then they sent another bill with early a termination fee and return fee. I would never use their service because they are way too expensive and and no one in customer service has a brain or a heart.
Customer service is horrible. The dish anywhere app is all ads and you get a fraction of the channels. Everytime the wind blows the service goes out. The remotes last about six months then buttons stop working. The price keeps going up and the service keeps going down.
They have overcharged for the service 8yr and make it near impossible to cancel. Then hold their return boxes so they can charge you 348.00 for not returning the equipment with a promise to refund when they receive the equipment back. My advice is to stop payment with your bank before you cancel your service. Good riddance Dish
I tried to cancel service after having to move. I was lead to believe I could not cancel service being under contract but I could pay a $5 month hold fee so I did but after 3 months, they started billing me the full amount. I told them I was disappointed with them and there response was to tell me I needed to pay them more. Absolutely shameful!
First of all you can stop signing people for two year contact without letting them know they are signing one. I called and asked for a wireless Joey and I specifically asked the Dish representative if it would change anything on my service or cost more money and his only reply was "there will be a onetime $15.00 charge". There was no talk of a two year contract. When the technician came to install the unit he also did not inform us of any contract and we assumed we where just signing a work order but low and behold we find we were duped into a two year contract.
If you look at my account you will see that I had so much trouble with Dish with my first year of service I complained at least 10 times WHY ON EARTH would I sign up for another two year term?
I couldn't wait for my first contact to be done and had I realized my time was up I would not have even called to get the new Joey in the first place.
Do not use auto pay. I use dish at my summer camp during the summer months and then cut it off during the winter. This year I called and told them to cut it off but they are still billing me. I called them and they refused to refund me even though it is their mistake. I'm going with direct next year.
I signed up for Dish on demand with Xfinity as my internet. I was promised a $300 gift card ($100 from Xfinity and $200 from Dish), that was in July. I never received a thing. I call and was told by one rep I'd get it after 90 days with on time payments. They take autopayments, so I have never missed, but I still have not received the gift cards. What a rip off and big liars. If I wasn't stuck in a contract, I would drop them right now!
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
