Called to cancel service. The account holder my father passed away I explained this to them. They then asked to speak with him. WHAT! THEY REALLY ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A DEAD PERSON. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I decided to change to Dish network so I could have more channels than what I had with Xfinity. While I do have more channels, I do NOT have the specific channels they assured me I would have. I want to have Washington DC channels and NOT Baltimore local stations. Everyone that I spoke to about it, assured me once I got it installed, just call customer service and they can switch it! Complete LIE! I have tried for several weeks to get this fixed and was pretty much told to purchase an antenna to make it work. I am 91 years old and I feel that it not the best thing for me to do...get up on my roof to install an antenna. Also, I cannot get the remote to work all the time. I have called about this so many times, it's insane. I called to cancel Dish and was told "$450 to cancel". PERIOD! No listening to the problems or that they lied about their product. I will get rid of this product as soon as possible. ONLY positive and the reason to give one star is yes, I do have a lot more channels to watch, but not the local ones I requested and was promised I would get. Two thumbs down DISH! As I said I am 91 years old and would love to have a company not lie to me and take my money
I just got dish a couple months ago and I've been constantly on the phone with them trying to figure out the charges. I maneged to keep the price I was promised, but im only able to watch TV in one room. And the package of channels is very limited. Also th3 dish anywhere app doesn't let you watch most of the channels unless you upgrade, but, of course, it is going to cost more. Now if I want to cancel they are charging me more than 400 dollars for early cancelation fees. So much unhappy with the service!
I have been a Dish customer and they took a double payout of my account. No one could help with a refund. I keep hearing I need a credit on my account. No refund just a bunch of I'm sorry

DISH TV is and has been in negotiations with ROOT TV for coverage of our local hockey team (Seattle Kraken) for years. It appears management has no intention of providing what their customers want. We're locked into a contract, but when it's up then good riddance DISH!
Dish tech left equipment not opened that i can't use and 3 cameras not delivered. Dish says my bad luck Its been over 20 days. I've called their office no return calls. I called back today they said they won't do anything im just out the money, its been over 20 days. They are responsible for their employees and I believe this is theft by deception. Do they get the employees to con customers and split the money?
When I called to inquire about adding their services, I was straightforward and said that I did not want to start a service that would have a cancellation fee or commitment because I would be moving. They told me that I could sign up for a service that would not charge a cancellation fee and that would not have a time commitment associated with it. They even charged more for this option, which was fine so that I didn't have to pay a cancellation fee. Just called to cancel, like I told them I would eventually be doing. They had multiple charges now that they made me do to in order to cancel. I explained everything and to go back and listen to the recording of my call when I signed up since I never would have signed up if there was going to be cancellation fees. They did not care and urged me to just keep it. Keep it where?! In the middle of the street? Horrible business practice. Horrible customer service. And, they lie to get your business and then steal your money. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS COMPANY.

Called DISH 11/14 to cancel service. Talked to Steve and told him I wanted to cancel. I said I thought there was a termination fee as I was on a contract (DISH is the only one that stills enforces that!). He said if I waited until January, I would be able to terminate without a fee. He said he understood that we wanted to try streaming and that DISH did not force people to stay on. I thanked him and said I would call back. The call was recorded. I called back today and was told that not only have I paid $114.65 for two additional months, I would be charged a termination fee of $160.00 for the remainder of my contract if I cancelled. I argued with the person, spoke to a supervisor named Erin to no avail. The rep I talked to on 11/14 left a note that said I agreed to wait until the end of my contract to terminate my account. It would have been a lot cheaper to cancel as of 11/14 for me, but I did not do so based on what he told me. I asked them to review the call but I was told that there was not a person at DISH who could review the phone call. They did not give me any credit, they would not rollback the cancellation to 11/14 and they would charge me the $160.00 plus the balance of my bill plus $20.00 to mail me a box to send back the equipment. I have been a dish customer for a long, long time, but will never go back to DISH again! Beware of what their reps tell you when you call.
This was the worst service we ever received, all they care about is raising their fees every month. DISH IS THE WORST PROVIDER EVER, STAY AWAY! Even their technical support guy admitted that their equipment sucks and directed us to request an older model of a receiver becuase it had less bugs! This is the worst experience ever and we are cancelling early, even though they are slapping us with cancellation fees. But even that is better than to have to pay for another year. Goodbye DISH and NEVER AGAIN!
In the three months of having access to Dish Network, it's been one disappointment after another. Channels being dropped without warning continously, and several haven't returned, despite the promise of swift negotiations. I've been without my local ABC station for nearly a quarter of my time with Dish Network. And recording programs is a hassle, as multiple tuners cannot perform tasks simultaneously, meaning you have to watch the program you're already recording, or cease it to watch something else. Lastly, the promised $200 gift card for switching has never arrived. If not for the three contract, I'd switch back to DirecTV right now.

Don't waste your money on Dish but go to Direct TV instead. Their "customer service" sucks almost as much as Dish plus they can't deliver local stations as promised. Don't be trapped into a contract with this "network."
After being told I would have all the local and sports channels on the package I bought, when I tried to access some of theses channels they would not work. Dish denied what they told me. I am going back to direct TV I should have never left them. Do not believe what dish tells you to get your business.
I called in to cancel service after I found another company that cost less & had better reviews. I didn't know how long my contract was with dish which was my fault. The person I talked to was nasty & rude.He told me how long my contract is for & said he would raise my bill if I tried to go to another company. He raised my bill to $100 a month for so so service. He only did that because I called to cancel service. Now I have to wait until my contract is over & pay an extra 20 a month in the mean time. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. He was nasty & rude. I wouldn't advise anyone to signup with them.
Dish pretty much refused to cancel my service and made promises of lower rates to get me into another contract. I reluctantly agreed and the bill came and was higher than promised. Bad customer service and deceptive practices.
I loved channel 165. You freaking ruined it. Thanks people live Christmas and you turned this also into a MONEY MAKER. Not about the season.
Customer service is horrible, they have a change in the fine print for every thing they do wrong. They are fighting with Comcast right now, so no ABC for us. It was in my channel line iup I purchased, but they told me today they can take channels away or change the line up anytime they want, read the fine print, all 18 pages of it, a service call is now a mandatory charge too, close to $100, no matter what they're coming for, unless you want to pay an extra fee to insure your service. If you have a problem they have an excuse. Only 2 more months of contract for us, $130 a month. Don't let those 2 year for $75 a month fool you, they'll figure out some way to raise your bill.
One minute or less to get new service, on hold for 17 minutes to disconnect. At minute 9 the system hangs up on me, I call back am told its 14 minutes for the automated system. I call in for sales 1 minute. I ask to cancel they put me to customer service, 8 minutes this time. I speak to someone they transfer me to cancelation 14 more minutes. That rep, Fermin spends the next 30 min tying to sell me deals, starting at 10 a month.though with Fubo TV I save 80 a month for the exact same channels, ending as high as 60 a month. After feeling I have gone through a time share/ car dealership presentation I was finally told for the low low price of $20 a return box I can finally be done with Dish. They initially said I needed 3.um no send me a bigger box, ok they could do 1. I found out the call center is in El Salvador not that it matters much, other than crappy service might be what you get from cheaper labor.
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
